12. “My love will last till the end of time”
That was the message written on the big bouquet that I couldn’t even hold alone.
When I opened the door, there were three men standing there.
One was the delivery man in a red reflector overall and the other two were in black suits and looked like FBI agents and all they lacked were glasses.
“Ma’am, we have a message we have to give you. So, please, listen to us,” they said and that was when it dawned on me that this was a private penthouse and that meant that Klaus must have given them the passcode.
That also meant that no one could come here and see me in a bathrobe and so, I waited.
“Sera, since the first day I saw you, I knew that we were meant to be together.
Now that I have you, I promise never to let you go.
I will love and cherish you.
I will be your anchor and make sure that the world never drowns you.
I will be your shoulder to lean in times of need.
I will always be here as your doormat to do with as you like.
Sera, I love you and I will do till the end of time.”
The man finished and then fished an ukulele from the bag he was carrying.
He then started playing a melody and the other man started singing.
It was John Legend’s All of Me.
What would I do without your smart mouth…
Drawing me in and you kicking me out…
You got my head spinning…
No kidding…
I can’t pin you down.
As the man sang, I felt my heart melt.
First, it was his voice. He had the most beautiful voice ever and his cover of the song was super.
Two, this was the first time someone had serenaded me, if I could call it that, and I had been with Tony for five years.
I guess that for me, as long as someone gave me good sex, I didn’t care for the rest.
Now that I think about it, Tony took Linda out more than he did me and they would always choose the days when I was busy at the shop and use that as an excuse.
Also, another reason why I was getting emotional, Klaus was the one who was doing this for me.
He never struck me as the serious romantic type but I was being proven wrong.
… Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
I give my all to you
Give your all to me
You are my end and my beginning
Even when I lose I’m winning
Give your all to me
I’ll give your all to me…
As the song came to an end, my heart was in puddles.
The song really described me and my feelings and I knew that was why Klaus chose to.
“Thank you. Thank you so much,” I said to the singers then looked at the man who was still holding the bouquet.
“Can you please place it on the table? Thank you,” I requested him.
“Of course ma’am,” he said and walked in and placed the bouquet on the table.
They then left and I closed the door and walked towards the bouquet on the table.
I took one stem from the bouquet and smelled it. It smelled heavenly.
I smiled and the irony of life was that despite the fact that I was a florist, this was the first time I had ever received any type of flowers from anyone. Even more ironical was the fact that that someone was Klaus.
Wow!
I took the card and re-read it.
‘My love will last till the end of time’
Was I ready to commit to anyone?
Was and is Klaus serious about all this?
What I knew was that I didn’t need a marriage partner but I wouldn’t hate having a sex partner.
Having to go out even if it was to the VH to look for a man was too tasking and it wouldn’t be bad having one at my beck and call.
So, if that was what Klaus wanted, then, well and good. More than that, I wasn’t ready to offer.
I decided to go to the bathroom and take a bath so that I could rush to the shop and help Jeon just in case we got another big customer and then at that thought, I froze on my heels.
Could this bouquet be the one that Jeon was woken up for?
It all made sense now. Who else knew my worker’s phone number.
It was so sweet of Klaus to support my business while trying to win me over.
It was romantic even.
I was a business woman and I wouldn’t and couldn’t hate a good business deal.
“What are you thinking about?” I spun on my heels and there was Klaus at the door with bags of food in his hands.
“Nothing. Just wanted to take a shower,” I said and I watched as he got in, kicked the door in with his boot, walked towards me and kissed me on the lips.
“I missed you. Hurry up so that we can have breakfast.
I went to get us something to eat since my pantry is empty and I wanted us to have a healthy meal.
I know you will like the food I got because I got them from your fave restaurant,” he said as he placed the bags on the table.
“Thank you. You didn’t have to and I appreciate that you did,” my heart was melting. This man knew how to have a lady confused and glued.
“Here, I bought you some clothes to wear today,” he said and then handed me a parcel he had produced from one of the bags.
“Did you like the flowers?” He asked me with a smile and I was melting.
His smile always got me and I was getting wet down south.
“Yes. I loved them. Ahem. Excuse me,” I said and felt myself blush and ran to hide in the bathroom.
Wow!
Wet at a smile.
I was a goner.
