Just then, someone suddenly laughed and said, “No need to look, you won’t find it.”
“Who’s there?!” Everyone’s faces turned serious as they shouted sternly.
“It’s me.” Leo leisurely strolled out of the woods.
A human?
Everyone was a bit shocked. They had expected a dark creature, but it turned out to be a human. And an Eastern one at that!
“Who are you, and what are you doing here?” Simon’s face was stern.
“This isn’t your turf. Why can’t I be here?” Leo retorted.
Simon was momentarily speechless.
“I-I remember now,” Owen suddenly exclaimed, “He’s the terrifying one!”
“Who?” Stanley asked, displeased.
“The terrifying Atrarian who defeated Cedric!” Owen’s face turned pale with fear.
The Church members, including the three old monks, all changed their expressions and gasped.
Leo smiled broadly. “That’s right, it’s me.”
Terrace sneered, “What are you doing here tonight?”
“You should know my purpose. I’m here to send you all to hell.”
These words sent a chill down everyone’s spine.
Owen sneered, “You talk big. You’d better take a good look. We have a Cardinal Archbishop, two Cardinals, twenty-four black-clad Archbishops, and three elders who were former Cardinals of the Pope.”
“You think you can challenge all of us alone? That’s quite a boast.”
Hearing this, Leo was slightly surprised and glanced at the three old monks.
Leo could clearly feel that the three old monks were very powerful.
But the stronger the opponent, the more challenging it was. Leo clapped his hands and said, “Come out, everyone. Tonight’s prey is quite plump.”
As soon as Leo finished speaking, an eerie wind blew through the surrounding woods.
Then the leaders of various dark clans appeared, surrounding the Church members.
When they saw who had appeared, the Church members’ faces grew very serious.
“Are you the new leader of the Dark Alliance?!” Simon realized and looked at Leo.
“Yes.” Leo smiled slightly.
“Leader.” The dark clan members bowed to Leo in unison.
The Church members gasped again and then erupted into chaos.
“This is impossible… How can a human be the leader of the Dark Alliance?!”
“These dark clans are insane!”
“This is absurd and ridiculous!”
Simon waved his hand, and the astonished congregation quieted down.
“An Eastern man becoming the leader of the Dark Alliance is indeed a first in a thousand years.” Simon’s face was grim. “Did you kill Cedric?”
“Yes.” Leo nodded.
“You devil! How dare you kill the great servant of the Lord? You will surely fall into hell!” Stanley shouted angrily.
Leo sneered, “Unfortunately, tonight it’s you who will go to hell.”
Simon calmed down and scanned his surroundings with a stern face. “You deliberately released the news about the Holy Scarab to lure us here, didn’t you?”
“Of course. It was all just a trap,” Leo replied calmly.
“The light of the Holy Scarab was fake?” Terrace was puzzled.
“Of course… not.” Leo smiled slightly. “The Holy Scarab is in my hands, but it wasn’t obtained from here.”
“Hand over the Holy Scarab!” Simon’s spirit lifted as he spoke each word clearly.
Leo couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ll hand over the Holy Scarab if you can defeat us.”
Simon’s face turned solemn as he addressed his people. “Faithful servants of the Lord, will you choose to fight bravely against this evil or die in disgrace?”
“Fight!” Owen and the others had no choice but to shout fervently.
Leo raised his voice. “Respect must be given to elders. How about I personally spar with the three old monks?”
“Very well.” Stanley’s eyes burned with anger. “We three will avenge Cedric!”
“Elder, leave the others to you. Any problems?” Leo asked, turning his head.
“No problem, Leader. Tonight our dark world will gain new glory!” Essex laughed sinisterly.
“Three old monks, let’s meet in the sky. I hope you won’t disappoint me.” Leo laughed loudly, gathered his energy, and soared into the sky.
Simon and the other two transformed into three bright beams of Holy Light and shot into the sky.
Leo stopped in mid-air, hands behind his back, standing as if on solid ground.
Looking at Simon and the others, Leo smiled. “Elders, you can make the first move. The result will be the same anyway.”
These words were incredibly arrogant, making Simon and the others furious with wide eyes.
“Divine Purification!” Simon and the others launched their attack on Leo.
Powerful Holy Light shot towards Leo like countless sharp swords.
Divine Purification was a basic combat skill of the Church. In the hands of these three old monks, it displayed immense power!
Leo immediately summoned a talisman and pointed at Simon and the others.
After a flash of firelight, countless fiery meteors rained down like a breached river towards the Holy Light.
The two terrifying forces collided, causing continuous violent explosions that shook the entire sky. For a moment, it seemed like countless fireworks were blooming in the sky.
Soon, both forces dissipated completely, resulting in a draw for this round.
Simon and the others exchanged glances with serious expressions. They clasped their crosses in front of their chests and shouted loudly, “Holy Judgment!”
Three beams of Holy Light shot up into the sky, intertwining to form a massive light screen.
In Leo’s astonished gaze, the serene Holy Light transformed into a majestic Holy Cross Sword that slashed through the air like thunderbolts straight at Leo.
In an instant, thunder roared and lightning danced wildly. The impressive momentum seemed to pierce through the heavens with earth-shaking power.
Leo’s body flickered as he flipped his right hand to summon a defensive talisman followed by an offensive one.
An arrow made of fire appeared.
The arrow then transformed into a giant dragon engulfed in fiery clouds and scorching winds, charging straight at the Holy Cross Sword.
The dragon and Holy Cross Sword collided fiercely with thunderous force.
Another terrifying explosion echoed in the sky.
The dragon shattered into countless fireballs that scattered across the sky.
The Holy Cross Sword also disintegrated into thousands of crystalline sword beams.
A powerful shockwave erupted.
Although Leo had preemptively shielded himself with a defensive talisman, he still felt as if thousands of needles were piercing his body when hit by the shockwave.
