Tomas.
“No, I’m not,” Olga replied, tucking her fingers nervously and sighing as she leaned in to speak with Jennifer. “I want to fall in love and have the freedom to find my soulmate.”
“I hope you find him soon. I have a feeling you’ll be part of our family before long,” Jennifer said with a giggle, patting Olga on the shoulder.
“What do you mean?” Olga asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
“Nothing. Now, please tell me what I should eat?” Jennifer grinned, her lovely dimples appearing once again as she winked at Olga.
Jennifer pulled Olga’s arm and walked away toward the buffet, leaving me stuck with Jimmy. We needed to find a way out of the trap Jennifer had set for both of us. The hardest part was that we were only pretending to be friends for her sake-nothing more. We were still enemies at heart.
“God, Tomas! Did you know Olga has her own restaurant? She can cook!” Jimmy’s distraction pulled me away from my thoughts.
“Is that the only thing that catches your attention?” I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest. “Did you hear the rest?”
“What rest? I was glued to her adorable eyes! She looks great in casual jeans and a normal shirt, but just imagine if she wore a sexy dress!” Jimmy chuckled, peeking at Olga.
“Dammit, man! I have to warn you: she’s the daughter of the hospital owner!” I frowned, trying to bring him back to reality.
“So what? You have to help me, man!” Jimmy said, clearing his throat.
“Help you?! No way! You have no chance with her!” I muttered.
“Then you have no chance with my sister either! If I have to get married, I should be able to choose someone I like, and I like that girl!” Jimmy teased, raising his eyebrows at me.
“She looks like a virgin! I heard she wasn’t allowed to have a boyfriend!” I exclaimed, rolling my eyes.
“A virgin? Okay, that’s weird, but it makes me want to marry her even more!” Jimmy huffed, crossing his arms defiantly.
“You can’t! Her marriage is already arranged with someone else! You need to find another woman,” I explained slowly, forcing a smile.
“Why? Her parents would be crazy to refuse me as their son-in-law! I’ll make them accept me!” Jimmy furrowed his brow.
“No, you should kidnap her!” I smirked, my tone playful.
“Good idea! Brilliant!” Jimmy grinned, snapping his fingers as if he were onto something.
“Dammit, man! Take it easy! I was just kidding; you can’t do that! Besides, she doesn’t even like you!” I gasped, trying to rein him in.
“Oh, that’s right, but she’d be crazy to refuse me! Who could possibly do that?” Jimmy snorted, looking confident.
“Your sister did it before! To be honest, she looks exactly like her! You have to make her fall for you first, then we’ll figure out a way to make her parents accept you,” I laughed.
“Okay, I’ll go start a conversation with her now, but you have to take Jennifer away for a while.” Jimmy pointed a finger at me, and I shook my head.
“I guess I have no choice,” I muttered, following him to the buffet. I pulled Jennifer’s arm, hugging her tightly, and gestured for Jimmy to take Olga away.
“What, Tomas? Now what do you want? I’m hungry!” Jennifer pouted, her lips forming an adorable frown.
“I’ll explain everything to you, honey. Just come with me,” I said, kissing her softly.
Jennifer turned her head, but I pulled her again. “What, Tomas? I want to tell Olga to come with me!” she huffed.
“No, you can’t just leave her with Jimmy for a bit. I’ll explain everything; just come with me and sit on your royal chair.” I winked and waved to Jimmy. “Hey dude, take care of Olga for a while, and grab some food for Jennifer. She could eat my arm!” I smirked, and Jennifer playfully hit my chest.
“Jennifer, stop making that face or I’ll take you back to our room!” I raised an eyebrow.
“No, you can’t! Or I’ll eat your-I’m hungry!” she replied, grinding her teeth.
I walked her to our table and pulled out a chair for her. “Please have a seat, madam,” I grinned.
“Okay, but I still feel a bit lost!” she smirked.
“Stop teasing me, Jennifer! That’s why I wanted you to leave Jimmy with Olga,” I huffed, pulling out my own chair and sitting next to her.
She widened her eyes. “Really? Do you think they could actually fall in love? But she told me she has an arranged marriage!” Jennifer furrowed her brow.
“I know; I heard the whole conversation. But she wants to fall in love too. She’s just like you, and Jimmy is a little like me. Maybe they’ll end up together,” I explained, gulping down a shot of tequila.
Jennifer glanced at the shots and, out of nowhere, gulped one down herself. I hurried to grab it from her hand, but she didn’t leave a drop. She turned to me, giggling. “I heard tequila makes women hornier! And warm!”
“Dammit! We’ve done it four times today!” I muttered, staring away.
“God! You’re scared, Tomas! I’m only in my first month of pregnancy! What will you do later?” she teased, smirking at me.
“Wait, why don’t we sneak off and listen to Olga and Jimmy’s conversation?” I suggested, raising an eyebrow.
Just as we stood up, we heard a loud slap. We turned to see Olga storming away, having just slapped Jimmy.
Jennifer rushed to her. “What’s wrong, Olga?! Did my brother bother you?” Her eyes widened in concern.
Olga shook her head and began to cry. Jennifer comforted her, then shot a glare at Jimmy before hugging Olga. “Please don’t cry. Come with me to my room,” she said gently, leading Olga away.
I huffed, turning to Jimmy. “Man, what happened?!”
Jimmy rubbed his cheek, looking frustrated. “Dammit! She’s impossible; she’s nothing like my little sister!”
“She’s exactly like her!” I giggled, unable to contain my amusement.
“What the hell! She’s so weird! I didn’t even start my conversation! I just asked her if she was a virgin!” Jimmy furrowed his brow at me.
“What kind of conversation is that? Are you asking for a prostitute or a wife?” I crossed my arms, incredulous.
“She didn’t slap me for that!” Jimmy shot back.
“Then why did she do it? Dammit, man, you need to put some ice on your face! Your cheek is red and her fingerprints are all over you!” I smirked.
“Don’t start! I know I feel pain! This is the first time I’ve ever been slapped! The problem is, I really didn’t say anything wrong. I just told her we have no empty rooms, and she could stay with me!” Jimmy defended himself.
“Oh, what an angel! And is that true?” I raised my eyebrows, teasing him.
“Of course, it’s not true! But I thought maybe she’d accept it! I don’t know; it was a stupid conversation!” Jimmy rolled his eyes, running his fingers through his hair.
“After all, you’re not exactly like me. You’re not a womanizer or a playboy; you just can’t seem to make a woman fall for you like I do!” I chuckled.
“So, playboy! Now tell me how I should make her fall for me?!” Jimmy asked, hitting my chest in frustration.
I rubbed my chest, thinking. “Okay, I’ll tell you, but it’s not guaranteed. From my experience, when a girl slaps a guy, she usually ends up falling for him!” I said with a wink.
“Is that true?!” Jimmy asked, his eyes lighting up with hope.
“Sure, not! Dude, it only happens in movies!” I laughed.
Jimmy gasped. “What?! Then what are my chances?”
“Um, zero chance,” I said slowly.
He cleared his throat and rolled his eyes. “What? Then your chance to marry my sister is zero too, dude!” he smirked.
I furrowed my brows. “Wait, okay, I have an idea, but you have to listen to me carefully and follow my instructions exactly! Deal?” I pointed at him.
Jimmy nodded eagerly. “Okay, man, I promise! With the gang knight hand!” he giggled.
“What is that? No wonder you’re just a mafia leader loser!” I muttered, shaking my head as I dragged him back into the hotel.
