Alora’S POV.
“Are you still not going to tell me who you invited over?” Jayce asks for the one millionth time that evening.
I had told him I invited two people over for dinner, but I didn’t tell him who they were. Because I was bent on surprising him with the guests. I called Reed and made him promise me that he wouldn’t tell Jayce he was the one coming over and he agreed not to do that.
I want it to be a surprise, because I know it’s going to be a pleasant one.
I want to see the joy of Jayce’s face when he sees his closest pal walk in through that door to join him for dinner.
Jayce loves Reed. I can see it in his eyes when he talks about Reed. When he interacts with him. The two men are always there for each other and it’s charming.
I want them to get closer with each other, that’s why I invited Reed over for dinner and also because I want to get closer to Halle.
“What difference will it make? I’m still going to see them and know who they are!” Jayce lamented.
He’s getting frustrated and it’s fun!
“You’ll know when the time comes.” I help him put on his jacket and give him a gentle tap on his shoulders.
“Let’s go.” I turn to leave, but he grabs my wrist and gently pulls me closer to him. I crash into his hard torso, my face hitting his broad, muscular chest. It bounces.
Damn!
Just how much does he work out?
“Not so fast!” I almost cum at the sound of his voice. It’s deep, smooth and charming. I look up at him with lust filled eyes.
Lately, I’ve been having wild fantasies about him. Whenever he kisses me, I silently wish he does more. I wish he would touch me more. I wish he does naughtier things to my body.
I want him.
I’m ready for us to get intimate. But I can’t bring myself to tell him that.
I hope one of these days, he tries to touch me. Oh, how I’m going to tell him to ride on!
“You look gorgeous, Alora. And it’s making me jealous because some other guy is going to be seeing you for the next two or three hours. I want to be the only one seeing you like this.” I blush. Hard.
My cheeks redden.
This man and his words.
He always knows the right thing to say at the right time.
“You don’t want anyone else looking at me.”
“I don’t.”
“I don’t want anyone else looking at you either.”
“Then let’s call our guest and cancel our dinner plans so we can sit here and look at each other as much as we want.”
“That’s ridiculous. Let’s get going.” I step on my toe tips and plant a brief, gentle kiss on his lips, but before I can step down, he wraps his hands around my waist and slightly hoists me up, kissing me deeply. I moan in his mouth when his hand travels up my back, gently caressing me.
He kisses me slowly, deeply, passionately. His tongue is exploring every inch of my mouth and lips are kissing mine like there is no tomorrow. I’m out of breath.
By the time he breaks the kiss, my entire body is revolting against the act.
Cancelling the dinner appointment sounds really enticing right now, but I know how much respect I’ll lose in Reed’s eyes if I dare to do that.
“Now my lipstick is smudged.” I burst into laughter. He touches his lips with his finger and looks down at it.
Yet.
Lipstick.
He laughs and starts heading to the bathroom. I follow him, still laughing
Love is a beautiful thing.
***********************************************
“You are welcome, Omega Reed.” All the servants around greet in unison with their heads bowed down the moment Reed and Halle walk into the living room where both Alpha Kai and I are seated.
“Reed.” Alpha Jayce calls enthusiastically and rises from his seat. I do the same. He turns to look at me, his eyes glowing with happiness.
I knew he’d love the surprise.
“Good evening Alpha Jayce, Luna Alora.” Halle greets with a bow. I flash her a cheerful smile.
“Good evening Halle.” Alpha Jayce’s eyes are glued to Reed when he replies to Halle’s greeting.
“Why didn’t it even occur to me?” Jayce asks, shocked. Reed chuckles lightly and shakes his head.
There’s a parcel in his hand and it has the shape of a wine bottle.
“Luna Alora, this is for you.” I gleefully collect my gift and thank him enormously before leading the way to the dinning section where the meals I prepared have been served and waiting for us to dig in.
“Wow!” Jayce comments as he takes his seat. “Everything smells very delicious. I’m definitely going to eat a lot today.”
“You should.” We all sat down. Halle hasn’t said another word since after the greeting.
She’s shy.
“Halle, you look terrified. You should try to relax, we’re not going to eat you up. There’s food on the table already.” I chuckle lightly. She flashes me an uncomfortable smile.
Reed looks at her and all I see is love in his eyes.
He’s in love with Halle.
“You promised to interact.” He says almost inaudibly and they both engage in a quiet conversation. Alpha Jayce and I exchange knowing looks, but stay quiet.
When we start eating, I don’t know why, my eyes keep passing between Jayce and Reed.
They have so many things in common.
They are both lefty. They both drank a glass of milk before eating their food. Pepper has been a no go area for them and they have both served very similar meals.
It’s almost creepy!
“Wow!” I finally exclaim when I can’t hold it in anymore. When they ask me why I suddenly exclaimed, I point out their similar mannerisms and both Halle and Jayce are shocked, but not Reed.
“It’s a mere coincidence.”
“It’s an uncanny coincidence. One could see all these and think the two of you were twins separated from birth!” Reed spits out the water he had in his mouth and chokes hard.
Starts coughing and Alpha instantly rises to his feet and goes over to him.
“I’m fine. I’m fine!” Reed pushes Jayce away when he tries to rub his back. “See.” He has stopped coughing. “I’m fine.” Jayce heads back to his seat.
“Reed, I’m so sorry about what I said.” I apologise from the depth of my mouth.
This mouth of mine will put me in danger someday.
“But she’s right tho.” Halle finally speaks for the first time, looking at Jayce and Reed. “You two not only have similar mannerisms, but also similar personalities.”
Thank you Halle.
Reed shoots her a menacing glare, but he needs more than that to scare her.
“It’s definitely not an uncanny coincidence. I say you guys take a DNA test to be sure you are not long lost two brothers.” She’s smiling as she says that last statement. I blink an eye at her. The two men are shaking their heads and focusing on their meals.
“Enough with this ridiculous conversation. Can we talk about how delicious these meals are?” Jayce changes the topic.
“I thought I was the only one who noticed.”
“Lloyd should definitely join us next time.” I don’t know why, but at the mention of Lloyd’s name, my eyes dart to Reed and as expected, there’s a frown on his face.
He dislikes Lloyd and he’s not alone.
I’ve never told Jayce, but I don’t feel good about Lloyd. He seems fishy to me.
“That frown. I was expecting it to follow my statement.”
“Are you happy now that your speculation came to pass?”
“What exactly is your problem with Lloyd? Why do you dislike him so much?” Jayce asks and Reed nonchalantly shrugs his shoulders.
“No particular reason. I just don’t like him.”
“That’s because the two of you are not close.”
“And you’re the one who’s close with him?” Reed creases his brows at him.
“Nope. And I think that’s another reason why I need to know why you can’t like him. I’m not close with Lloyd, but I like him, why don’t you like him?”
“Like I said, no particular reason and even if there was I wouldn’t discuss it here.”
“Would you do that somewhere private?”
“Not a chance.”
“Next time, Lloyd is joining us whether you like it or not!”
I’m not going to invite him.
I say in my heart.
“Do as you please, Alpha Jayce.” He rides on with eating his meal.
The rest of us do the same, but as I eat, my eyes keep darting between Jayce and Reed.
I swear I feel like they are somehow related because all this resemblance in mannerisms and personality can never be a mere coincidence.
