Jovan’S POV.
“Lloyd.” I call as I walk into the private ward. Lloyd is sitting upright on the bed, his hand wrapped in a sling and he looks like a hot mess.
I feel terrible for what happened to him. He was at that battle upfront. Something bad could’ve happened to him.
“Alpha Jovan.” He looks up at me.
“How are you feeling?”
“A lot better. Just the broken arm that’s taking time to heal, but I’ll be fine in a few days.” I pull a nearby stool and take a seat by his side.
“I’m happy to hear that.”
“We made a mistake by forgetting about Reed. The moment we got attacked, Alpha Jayce mind linked him and he showed up in less than no time with almost one thousand pack soldiers. I wasn’t surprised at all.”
“We have to get through Reed to get to Alpha Jayce and that leaves us with just one option.”
“Which is?”
“We have to kill Reed. Only then will we be able to successfully harm Alpha Jayce.” He sighs heavily and clears his throat. He struggles to sit upright and I help him do so. Once he’s perfectly balanced, I take back my seat and look at him.
“Reed might be an Omega, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be easy to get rid off. He’s very smart. He has a high sense of intuition and to top it all, he’s unusually strong for an Omega. In order to successfully kill him, we have to put in as much effort as we do when planning to kill Alpha Jayce.” He explains with all seriousness and I’m not surprised at all.
I know exactly what he’s talking about. I haven been thrashed, intimidated and humiliated by Reed, so I understand.
I nod my head in agreement and lean forward.
“I’ll take all that into consideration when crafting a plan. My primary aim is to take him off guard. I’ll let you know when I come up with something.”
“I’ll be waiting.”
I look around the room and sigh.
“Will you be spending the night here alone?” I ask, concerned.
I genuinely care about Lloyd. When I finally become Alpha, he’s still going to keep his place as Beta of this pack.
“No. My sister will be coming over soon.”
“Alright, that’s better.” I rise from the stool and look down at him once more. “I’ll take my leave now. Goodnight Lloyd.”
“Good night Alpha Jovan.” I exit the ward with my head spinning with the possible ways by which I can attack Reed and get rid of him once and for all.
Yes, he’s strong. He has had me trashed before, but that doesn’t mean I’ve given up. I am very sure he got the upper hand in our previous fight because I wasn’t prepared to meet with him.
I am a true born Alpha. He is an ordinary Omega. There’s no way he could be stronger than me. If I go well prepared, he won’t stand a chance!
A guard opens my car seat door and I step out of the car and walk into my chambers. When I get into my living room, I am shocked to the bone to see Skye comfortably seated on a sofa, but the moment she sees me, she rises to her feet and bows her head.
“Good evening and welcome home, Alpha Jovan.” She greets respectfully and I walk towards her, alarmed.
“Skye. What are you doing here at this hour? It’s not safe for you to be here. If you are seen by…”
“Don’t you worry, Alpha. I made sure no one saw me. I promise.” The bright smile on her face makes my muscles relax.
I don’t know why, but I trust her words.
She walks over to me and I take out time to scan her from head to toe.
She’s a very beautiful girl and I can totally see why Jayce chose her to be his sexual partner when he had not yet found his mate. One of these days, I’m going to get into her pants.
I swear.
“Alpha Jovan.” She called with a calm, sweet voice as she approached me. Her eyes are trained on and I’m trying not to drown in them.
Women.
Beautiful woman will be the end of me in this life.
“Yes, Skye.”
“I heard what happened to Alpha Jayce today. It was terrifying and I’ve been bawling my eyes all day. I’m sorry if my question offends me, but everyone has been saying what happened was an assassination attempt on Alpha Jayce’s life and so far, you are the only one I know who wants to bring him down, that is why I want to inquire if you had anything to do with it.” Her voice progressively dies down as she speaks and the last words she just uttered is barely audible.
Smart bitch.
She must have connected the dots and had her speculations.
On a normal day, I would tell her yes, I did it and let her do her worst, but right now, I can’t because I still need her in this fight and also because I still need to get into her pants, so I have to stay on her good side.
I clear my throat and train my eyes on her.
“Skye. It will do you some good to know that I am not the only who has eyes for the Supreme Throne. Lots of Alphas out there want to sit on that throne and they are willing to go any length to get there. What I’m trying to say is, I would never have the audacity to pull off such a stunt. I don’t want him dead. He’s my brother after all. I simply want to dethrone him and take over.” I lie smoothly, keeping a straight face.
She sighs heavily and nervously scratches the back of her neck.
“I… I’m really sorry for assuming that you had a hand in this.”
“It’s okay. I understand. But just so you know like we agreed, Alpha Kai will be dethroned and you will have him all to yourself.” A big smile forms on her lips.
She’s excited.
Genuinely excited.
I don’t even know what’s so special about my brother that has girls falling for him here and there.
“I’ll take my leave now. Good night Alpha Jovan.”
“Goodnight Skye.” I watch her exit the living room with a wicked smile on my face.
There’s no happily ever after for her in this story.
I’m going to kill my brother and ascend the throne as Supreme Alpha and turn her into my sex slave.
That’s the only way this story is going to end.
