CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX.

Book:THE SUPREME ALPHA'S HATED LUNA Published:2024-11-20

Skye’S POV.
Ever since Alpha Jovan approached me and asked me to join his team, my head has been spinning and clouded with all kinds of thoughts. I don’t know if I should trust him. I keep asking myself so many questions.
Like what if it’s Alpha Jayce’s scheme to weed out those routing to separate him from his Luna. What if this is all a plan and I fall for it and it leads to me getting expelled from this castle?
But then again, on second thought, this cannot possibly be Alpha Jayce’s plan because he and his brother, Alpha Jovan are sworn enemies.
Everyone knows that.
They don’t work together. They avoid talking to each other at all cost and they avoid seeing each other.
Also, everyone knows about Jovan’s jealousy for his brother as the Supreme Alpha. Jovan wants to be the Supreme Alpha, that’s why it’s not strange to hear that he is trying to bring down his brother.
All these facts have made me believe Jovan’s words.
This is his plan and Alpha Jayce has nothing to do with it. He doesn’t even know his brother is planning something like this for him. So, I’m going to trust Jovan. I’m going work with him and make sure Alpha Jayce gets dethroned. That’s the only way for him to notice me again.
A smile creeps on my lips as I think of the time when we will be together again.
I love Alpha Jayce. I want him. I will get him.
Alora will never win this fight.
“Skye!” Tania calls at the top of her voice, making me tremble on my spot.
I’ve been absorbed in my thoughts yet again.
“I’m so sorry, I zoned out.”
“You’ve been doing that a lot lately. Are you sure you are alright?” She asks, concerned. I sigh and nod my head.
“Yes, I am. I’m just a bit stressed by all that’s going on.”
“You should get more rest. So, about Alpha Jovan, are you sure we can trust him? What if this is a trap set by him and his brother?”
“Do you honestly think those two brothers will ever work together in peace?” I ask with raised brows. Tania thinks for a while before shaking her head in denial.
Everyone knows about the hatred brewing between those two brothers.
“Exactly. That’s why I’ve decided to trust Jovan. I also told him you were on my team and he was elated.”
“Was he?” She smiles widely. I give her a curious look.
“Tania. Please don’t tell me you haven’t stopped crushing on Alpha Jovan.” Blood flushes to her cheeks, making them turn red. She flashes me a shy smile and I simply shake my head.
“Well, today is your lucky day.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“We have a meeting with him and his mum in about an hour’s time. We have to make our first move on Alora. So, luckily for you, you’ll be in the same room as your crush and you guys are even going to exchange a few words.” She squeals in excitement and I look at her, completely amazed, but not surprised, because I know exactly what she’s feeling.
I know what it means to like someone to the extent that just the thought of being in the same room with them excites me.
I totally understand her.
“I’m so excited.”
“You should be. And who knows, as we interact more, maybe he might notice you and take a liking to you.” She falls on my bed and screams in the sheets, wiggling her body and completely crumpling my sheets on the bed. All I do is shake my head and laugh.
ONE HOUR LATER.
Tania and I walk into the same office I had been summoned into that morning and this time around, Alpha Jovan is not alone in it. He has company.
His mother.
She’s seated on one of the couches in the sitting area, together with Alpha Jovan. Tania and I stop a few metres away from them and bow down as we greet them.
“You girls are right on time. Have a seat.” Tania and I sit on the two place couch across from them. I’m looking everywhere else but their faces.
I’m so nervous right now.
“Is this the friend you told me about?” I look at Alpha Jovan and nod.
“Yes, she is.” He looks at Tania who is giving him her most charming smile.
“What’s your name?”
“Tania Bradfords.” Her voice is as smooth as honey.
Well done Tania. You sure know how to charm a man.
“And you are Alora’s personal maid, aren’t you?”
“Yes I am. I assist her in doing everything and follow her everywhere she goes.”
“Which means you know her schedule like the back of your hands.”
“Not exactly her schedule, because she doesn’t have a fixed one, but I’m always with her.”
“Perfect. We needed someone like you on our team and I’m happy we have you.” Her smile widens.
Right now she’s grinning and it’s kind of embarrassing. I give her a gentle nudge on the side of her stomach with my elbow and she immediately understands. The grin on her face wipes away and she keeps a straight face.
Better.
“I’m sure Skye briefed you on our mission. It is to get rid of Alora and help me seize the throne from my brother, Alpha Jayce.” Tania nods her head in agreement.
“She told me that.”
“And you are okay with it?”
“If Skye is okay with it, then I am too.”
“Good. Good. Targeting my brother will not be an easy task, so Alora will be our main target and I want to get rid of her before this week runs out. I was thinking about the possible ways we could do that all night and a brilliant idea popped in my mind.” Everyon trains their eyes on him, eager to hear what he has come up with. “There’s a swimming pool in that training centre, isn’t there?” His question is directed to Tania who instantly nods her head.
“Yes, there is. It’s just beside the training arena.”
“Do you have any idea if she can swim?”
“No. She can’t. The last time we were there, she told me she had never even entered a pool or any sort of water body before. She can’t swim.”
“Good. Because you are going to make sure she drowns.”
“Me?” Fear flashes in Tania’ eyes.
“I’m not saying you’ll do it with your bare hands. You’ll just cause some havoc that will never be traced to you.” He takes out a phone and places it on the table. “That’s a burnt cell phone. No call you make will be traceable. On that day, you’ll call your personal trainer and tell her that the Omega has summoned her in his office. There’s a voice distortion app you’ll use so she won’t recognize your voice and when she leaves for the Omega’s office, you’ll lure Alora into the pool section and make sure she falls into it. Make it look like an accident and you’ll pretend to call for help. Before anyone will realise what’s going on, she’d have drowned already. It’s that simple.” I tear my gaze from his face and look at Tania and all colour seems to have drained from her face.
She’s as pale as a ghost.
She looks at me and I nod my head.
“You can do it.” I try to encourage her. She looks back at Alpha Jovan and clears her throat. Her eyes drop to the phone on the table.
“You say they won’t trace any phone call to me right?”
“They won’t.” She picks up the phone. It’s a clapper that looks very old. “So, are you in?” Jovan asks and I almost laugh.
Of course she’s in.
Tania will do anything for me.
“Yes.” She croaks. “I’m in.” I can feel the nervousness in her words, but she’ll be fine.
She has done worse things before.
“And just so you know…” Jovan’s mum finally speaks. “If at any point any of you girls think you can back out and betray us, know death will be your reward. Mark my words.”
“We will do no such thing Ma’am.”
“You better not!” There’s an eternal frown marked on her face.
What exactly is her deal?
“That will be all for today.” Says Alpha Jovan. Tania and I immediately rise to our feets and leave the office.
My heart is sweet like honey has been poured all over it.
I cannot wait for Alora to die.
