CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE.

Book:THE SUPREME ALPHA'S HATED LUNA Published:2024-11-20

Jayce’S POV.
“You told her what?” I ask in astonishment. Reed just finished telling me all about the conversation he had with Alora earlier this morning and the last part set my pants on fire.
“I told her to give you a damn break. She’s blowing things out of proportion and you know that.”
“No, she is not! I looked her in the eyes and told her a fat lie. She has every right to be upset with me.” Reed rolls his eyes and frowns in frustration.
“I should’ve saved my energy. It’s useless trying to intercede for you.”
“Intercede? What you did hardly falls under intercession. You made things worse!” I’m pacing about my office like a mad man. My entire body is hot with fear and anxiety. Reed’s arrogance has surely made Alora even more furious at me.
I stop in my tracks and train my eyes on him, giving him a furious look.
“Don’t look at me like that. I was just trying to help. I want you guys to reconcile so you won’t have to spend another night in my bedroom. I hate having to share my space with anyone. I barely got any sleep last night because of you.” A foolish smile creeps on my lips.
“Unfortunately for you, you’ve made things worse by being a total dick to Alora, so I’ll be spending the night in your bedroom till we make up.”
“You don’t mean that.”
“Try me!” I lean against my office chair, fold my arms over my chest and cross my legs at my ankles.
Speaking of ankles. What the hell was Alora doing at the training centre today when she has an injured ankle?
I pick up my phone from the table and hastily dial her number. It goes straight to voicemail. I curse and end the call, throwing the phone on the table angrily.
“Why is she so stubborn?”
“What now?”
“Reign has an injured ankle. She’s not supposed to be training right now.”
“She seemed fine when I saw her. She’s Luna. Her healing abilities are just as rapid as yours. She’s fine.”
I relax.
Reed is right.
Alora’s healing abilities are just as exceptional as mine. She’s fine.
“Let’s end this banter right now. I have to get back to work. Make sure to make up with Alora before nightfall. If you show up at my doorstep, I’ll slam the door in your face.” I chuckle. “I’m not bluffing.” He warns.
You are.
I want to tell him, but I hold back my tongue and simply nod my head.
“Summon Skye.”
“I’m on it.” He leaves my office.
I go over to my office table and take a seat. I’m ready to unleash the wrath of hell upon Skye when she comes in here. She went way overboard and I have to reprimand her.
About ten minutes later, there’s a knock at the door. I immediately know it’s Skye. When I signal her to come in, she opens the door and her easy grin dances into the office before she follows.
I don’t know why she’s smiling. I didn’t crack a joke and the look on my face is not friendly. She must have lost her mind.
“Good day Alpha Jayce.” She greets and bows down to me respectfully. I look at the girl I was once interested in. Five years ago, I approached her and asked her to be my sexual partner. I still remember that day like it was yesterday.
Our first night together was fantastic and I knew she was the one I wanted to lay with till I found my mate. Her beauty was what attracted me to her. I was smitten, but right now, just looking at her repulses me.
Her overly ambitious nature is turning her into something else!
She has grown so confident that she now has the audacity to go against my orders.
Her temerity makes me chuckle.
“Skye.” I call calmly. She raises her head up to look at me.
“Alpha Jayce.”
“Why do you bow to me when you’re in my presence? Why do you wait for me to give the instruction before you raise your head? Why can’t you make eye contact with me?” She gives me a confident smile.
“Because you are my Alpha and it is not right to make eye contact with you or not bow down to you whenever I’m in your presence. It’s a sign of respect and I could be punished for violating any of those rules.”
“I can see you are well aware of the pack rules.”
“A good subordinate should know all the pack rules, Alpha.” She bows yet again. I place my hands on the table and lean forward, my gaze glued to her face. She avoids looking into my eyes at all costs. It makes me chuckle.
“However, there’s one person who doesn’t need to follow those rules. She’s not obliged to bow to me. She can make eye contact with me however she wants, anytime she wants. She can talk to me in any manner. Do you know what that person is?”
“Your late mother?”
“No. My mate, Alora. The one you have blatantly refused to acknowledge as your Luna.” Blood drains from her face. “Tell me.” I Lean against the backrest of the chair and swivel it. “Why did you tell her about what happened between us? I thought we had a conversation where I asked you not to mention a word to her. What did you hope to gain?”
“Alpha Kai, we belong together. This whole mate issue is a scam. Alora doesn’t deserve you, I do.” She starts ranting. Tears even spill down her cheeks.
This girl is insane.
“You are delusional.”
“Alpha I…”
“Silence!” I roar and slam my fists hard on the table., rising to my feet. Every item on it vibrates and Skye takes several steps backwards out of fear.
I’m trying very hard to keep my anger in check. I don’t want it to take over me because if it does, I’ll do something I’ll regret.
“Listen and listen carefully, Skye. Stay away from Alora. If you ever try to get between us again, I will make things unbearable for you in this castle. This is your last warning.” My voice sounds as scary as death. Out of fear for her life, Skye quickly nods her head and rushes out of the office with tears in her eyes.
I close mine and exhale.
With both hands shoved in my pockets, I go over to my floor to ceiling glass window that gives me a view of my city beneath.
Now I have to think of how I’m going to face Alora tonight.
