CHAPTER FORTY-SIX.

Book:THE SUPREME ALPHA'S HATED LUNA Published:2024-11-20

Alora’S POV.
The first exercise I did this morning was jogging which lasted thirty minutes. Halle didn’t say anything to me other than instructions or when to take short breaks. Her countenance has not changed even once. The serious look she had on when Alpha Jayce introduced her to me is still the serious look she has on now. I keep wondering why she doesn’t even want to make small talk with me.
Does she hate me?
I shake my head because I don’t think that’s possible. We don’t even know each other. Today is the first day we are meeting each other. There’s absolutely no reason for her to hate me.
But if she doesn’t, why then is she acting so cold towards me?
“Halt!” Her harsh instructions sound throughout the training ground and both Tania and I stop jogging. I’m completely breathless and what I want to do now is sit down and rest for a very long time, but as I attempt to do that, Halle’s stern warning stops me.
“Don’t even dare. You are not supposed to sit down the moment you stop running or jogging. Walk around for a while and catch your breath before doing so.”
“Yes, ma’am.” I mumble under my breath and start walking around. I flash her a brief glance and our gazes meet, but I quickly look away.
I’m her Luna.
She is supposed to be the one who’s scared to maintain eye contact with me, but the reverse seems to be happening.
Who exactly is this girl?
“It’s break time. You have one hour to rest and when we come back, we’ll do a few squats and jumping jacks before calling it a day. Don’t eat anything heavy.”
“Yes, Ma’am.” I mumble.
“The name is Halle!” She reprimands and I purse my lips together.
“She’s your Luna. She will address you however she wants. You keep talking back to her. You have a dead wish, don’t you?” Tania stands up for me again and I’m amazed.
I’ve never had anyone stand up for me before.
Back then at the Black Diamond Pack, when Daphne used to beat me up, none of the other servants ever showed up to try and stop her or defend me, everyone simply shied away and I don’t blame them because Daphne was really very scary.
I look up at Tania and smile. I knew we were going to be really good friends.
“I’m sorry Halle. I’ll address you properly henceforth.” I apologise calmly and Tania groans in anger.
“Better.” Halle remarks and walks away. Tania gives me a furious look.
“Are you just going to let her keep disrespecting you?” There’s an eternal frown masked on her face. I simply chuckle and head over to the dressing room.
“Let’s cut her some slack, Tania. She must have a good reason for acting the way she does.”
“She’s the one who has to cut you some slack. You are her Luna. She’s supposed to go on her knees and bow down till her forehead touches the floor whenever she sees you. She keeps making eye contact with you and talking back at you and it is annoying and disrespectful. She…” Her words are cut short when I cast her a serious look. “I… sorry. I guess I’ve overstepped my limits. I’m sorry for talking too much.” She chuckles and nervously scratches the back of her neck.
“Thank you.” I say curtly.
“Huh?” Her head props forward in surprise. “Tha…tha.. thank you… I mean… me? Are you thanking me?” She stutters in shock and I nod my head with a genuine smile plastered on my face.
“Yes, thank you.”
“But why? Why are you thanking me?” She laughs nervously. “I didn’t even do anything great.”
“You stood up for me earlier this morning and a few minutes ago. No one has ever tried to stand up for me. You are the very first person to do so and I’m grateful. That’s why I’m thanking you.”
“Ah…” she chuckles and flashes me a shy glance. “It’s really nothing. It’s my duty to defend you against anyone who’s trying to disrespect you. That’s why I’m your personal servant.”
“I’m happy I chose you. Let’s go for a …” The sound of my ringtone stops me from saying the last word. I quickly open the locker and take out my phone from it and when I see the name on my caller ID, a wide smile spreads on my lips. I quickly swipe the green icon and press the phone against my ear.
“It’s been five hours and forty seven minutes since I last saw you. I’m on power saving mode right now. I need to see you to get recharged so I can function again.”
“Alpha Jayce, I had no idea you had in you to be such a clown.” He chuckles softly on the other end of the phone. The sound of his voice is like music to my ears. I could listen to it all day without getting tired.
“How’s your training going?”
“Not bad at all.” I lie smoothly.
I’m having a hard time dealing with Halle who seems to dislike me very much, but that’s not something for me to say over the phone. Knowing Alpha Jayce, he will march over here to reprimand Halle if I were to utter a word about her behaviour towards me right now.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I am. I’ve done a great deal of jogging and also some simple physical exercises like jumping jacks and squats. All my bones are aching right now, but I’m fine.”
“Remember not to overwork yourself okay? You can stop anytime you feel tired. It’s not a war.”
“I’ll make sure to remember that. How’s your day going over there?”
“Not bad.” He sighs. “Just missing you.”
“Tsk… stop being cocky. I have to go now, see you at home. Bye.” I hang up and hold the phone against my chest.
I didn’t want to hang up just yet, but the conversation was getting too cheesy and I didn’t want to keep talking to him like that in Tania’ presence.
“You and Alpha Kai seem to have grown closer these days.” Tania chips in as I put my phone in the locker and close it. I look at her and smile.
“We have. He even marked me last night.” She gasps in shock and my smile widens.
“Wow! That’s so cool.”
“I know, right? I woke up this morning feeling anew.”
“I’ve heard a lot of stories about the marking process and how a she-wolf feels after she has been marked. I can’t wait to experience it.”
“Trust me, it’s worth every hype you’re getting. It’s inexplicable. You’ll only know when it happens to you.”
“I guess so. I can’t wait to find my true mate.” Tania giggles shyly. I was like her just a few weeks ago. I couldn’t wait to find my mate
“You sure will.” I lead the way out of the dressing room and we both take the hallway that leads to the large field outside.
I can’t wait for the day I’ll have to finally come and train out here.
“And who do we have here?” A familiar voice asks from behind. Both Tania and I turn to see who it is and my eyes are greeted with the sight of a very familiar face.
It’s the same girl I had an encounter with some time ago at the castle. She wasn’t very nice to me.
“The Almighty Supreme Luna, Alora Ange Michaelis.”
How does she even know my full name?
I don’t even know the girl, but I already feel like I don’t like her.
“You are Skye, aren’t you? We met some time ago at the castle premises.”
“Oh… you are smart after all.”
“Excuse me?”
“Nothing.” She flashes me a smile, but I know it’s not genuine. I turn to Tania who’s staring at her blankly.
“Tania, let’s go.” Tania nods and we both walk past the girl.
“Judging from the way you just spoke to me, it seems Alpha Jayce has still not told you about me.”
What?
I stop in my tracks and turn to look at her. She chuckles.
I don’t even know what’s funny right now.
“He hasn’t, has he?” I stay silent. She takes my silence for a no. Sighing, she crosses her right arm over breasts and rests her left elbow on it while tapping her left cheeks with her index finger and clicking her tongue.
“I don’t blame him though. It’s a really difficult thing to say.” I don’t know why, but I suddenly feel very anxious right now.
She’s a stranger who obviously dislikes me and I’m not supposed to take her words seriously or even keep listening to her, but I’m too curious to walk away.
I don’t even know what to think at the moment.
“Is there something Alpha Jayce has to say to me?” I ask and swallow dryly. She laughs lightly and drops her hands by her side.
The look in her eyes tells me there’s something going on. Something I must know and because of that, my heart is beating out of control.
“Why don’t you ask him yourself?” She does a hundred and eighty degree turn and starts walking away.
I’m frozen on my spot as I watch her majestically walk away after causing chaos in my mind.
What is Alpha Jayce hiding from me?
