Jayce’S POV.
I’m standing before my room door with my heart in my throat. It’s morning and I have to go in there and meet Aloraso we can talk about what happened last night, but I’m so fucking nervous, it’s embarrassing.
I’m an Alpha.
Not just any kind of Alpha. I’m the Supreme Alpha of the entire werewolf world. I fear nothing and no one. I do whatever I want, when I want and how I want it and no one has the audacity to question me, but when it comes to Alora, everything is different. I cannot dare to do whatever I want with her, even though there are a lot of things I would love to do with her: like, mark her, kiss her more, make love to her.

Is that day even ever going to come?
I let out an exasperated sigh and give a gentle knock on the room door. I’m exhausted and nervous and a bit ashamed. I don’t know how I’m going to face her, but I have to.
Moments go by and soon, I hear the room door clicking open. My heart goes erratic when the door swings open and Alora’s face comes into view. My knees almost snap when she flashes me a timid smile.
“Good morning Alpha Jayce.”
Alpha Jayce.
I’m going to have to tell her to stop calling me that.
“Good morning Alora.” I greet calmly. “Can I… uh… can I come in?” I ask, pointing towards the door with a lost look in my eyes. I can’t even look her in the face right now. I’m too embarrassed to do that.
“Yes please.” She steps aside from the doorway, making way for me to get and I do just that. Once we are both in, she closes the door behind her and I finally look at her face.
She looks beautiful this morning. She looks beautiful every morning. My eyes travel to her lips and lodge in them. Memories of the kiss I shared with her last night flood my eyes. It was spectacular. Her lips tasted like freshly harvested strawberries. It took me all my strength and will power to stop myself from kissing her.
“Alpha Jayce.” She chuckles and bows her head down. “Why are you looking at me so intensely, you are making my face heat up.
Fuck ! Fuck! Fuck!
Fuck you Jayce!
I tear my eyes away from her face and clear my throat.
“I’m terribly sorry for gaping at you Alora, I… didn’t mean to make you embarrassed.” She looks up at me with her starling blue eyes. “I… I… I just…” I’m stuttering like an idiot and even scratching the back of my head.
The last time I did this was in the presence of my father. When I stole his brand new G-wagon and went out late night drinking with LLoyd and ran it into a pole. I was eighteen and my father almost whooped my ass with his belt. I was grounded for three months.
The same way I felt in my father’s presence the morning after that incident, is the same way I’m feeling right now. I’m going to piss my pants soon.
“AloraI’m sorry for kissing you last night.” I suddenly blurt out. Surprise flashes in her eyes. “Yes… I’m sorry.” The tension between us is gradually suffocating me. “I… I didn’t mean to kiss you out of nowhere. You just looked so beautiful and my heart was beating so fast and I got carried away and did what I wasn’t supposed to do.”
“Alpha Jayce I’m the one who’s supposed to apologise.” She says calmly and I pause. “Yes. I wasn’t supposed to react that way after the kiss. I just stood there like a frozen idiot. I’m sorry.”
“No…” I take two steps forward. “No.. no.. you don’t have to apologise for that. You got surprised by my sudden outburst. That’s why you had no idea how to react. I…” I place my palm on my chest. “I was wrong to do that even after I said we were going to take things slow. I have to wait for you to get comfortable before we do things like that. I’m really sorry.”
“I’m comfortable.” She says calmly. My eyes widen in surprise and she nods. “Yes, I am. I’ve been here for two weeks now and I’ve seen how hard you’ve tried to be patient with me. I have seen how hard you’ve tried to make me comfortable and trust me, right now, I am comfortable. Yes, there are a few things and people who still freak me out in this castle, but I’ll get used to them. Apart from that, I’m quite comfortable here and most especially with you. I reacted the way I did last night out of surprise. I didn’t see the kiss coming. You are always so careful and decent around me… oh my God, I’m not saying the kiss was indecent, I’m just saying… that’s not how you behave around me that’s why I froze when you kissed me… Am I making any sense at all?” She looks nervous and so friggin cute and it makes my heart swell with emotions.
I chuckle lightly. She pouts her lips.
“Yes you are. I completely understand what you are saying.” She smiles.
“Thank goodness! So yes, that’s what last night was about. I wasn’t mad at you, I was just… you know, surprised.” She takes a step closer to me. I swallow dryly. She’s staring deep into my eyes and I almost lose it when her teeth sink into her bottom lip.
She’s biting her lips. She’s not supposed to be doing that in front of me. It’s making me lose all my brain cells. I might do something even more stupid right now.
“Alpha Jayce.” I like the sound of my name when it comes from her mouth. She calls the words like they charm her, entertain her. “Last night I was crowned Luna of this Pack and Supreme Luna of the entire werewolf world and that means I have to rule by your side. I am your mate, your Luna and your wife and that means I have duties to fulfil towards this pack and most importantly, towards you. There’s no room for shyness. I locked the door to that room the night before the coronation day. Right now, I have the crown on my head and I’m all in. I want you to mark me.” Alora Is the queen of Surprise comebacks.
Right now I’m looking at her like she has suddenly turned into a ghost. Her words are burning into my mind. My feelings for her are spiralling out of control. I can’t believe she just said what she said.
“Alora…” I call, breathless. My eyes are scanning her face. “Are you sure you want that? Marking you means you will feel everything that you feel for me right now double or triple, I mean a lot more. I will be able to read your thoughts when you let me. Everything will be different. Are you ready for that?” I ask aghast and her face spits into a smile so wide, so beatific, I wonder if she has misheard me.
My heart almost jumps out of my chest when she takes my left hand in hers and kisses it. My entire body tingles. Is that how she feels whenever I do that? I’ve gone hot and cold at the same time.
“I’m ready for all that and even more.” She’s staring straight into my eyes right and I can tell from the look in hers that she means every word she just said. She wants me just as much as I want her.
My mate.
My very precious mate.
I love her so much.
“Are you sure?” I ask, giving her an intense look. She vigorously nods her head, still smiling. I gently pull her in my big arms and engulfs her in a big bear hug. She has no idea how happy I am right now. She just made my day.
I kiss her hair and inhale its sweet scent. Her hair shampoo has a vanilla flavour. Everything about her smells so nice. I’m going to eat her whole one day.
“Alright then…” I pull her out of my arms. “How about tonight?”
“Tonight will be perfect!” My face splits into an even wider smile.
“You have no idea how happy I am, Alora. Thank you very much.”
“For nothing.”
“I have a meeting with both LLoyd and Reed this morning, it’s going to be a quick one. After which I will come home and take you out.”
“Take me out?” She asks excitedly. She’s almost jumping on her feet.
“Yes.” I give her a light tap on the tip of her nose with my index finger. “You and I are going for a stroll around the pack. There are a lot of beautiful places I would love to show you. So, while I go have a quick chat with the guys, you get ready and have your breakfast, so we can leave when I return. How does that sound?”
“Perfect! It sounds perfect.” She’s squealing in excitement. She’s a whole bundle of joy. I lean closer to her and aim for her lips with mine. Once they lock, I kiss her slowly, gently and the warmness of her lips sends shivers down my spine. My heart skips when she wraps her hands around my neck and reciprocates the kiss. I feel like I’m floating. Our lips move in perfect rhythm. Her mouth gives way for my tongue to go and explore as much as I want. I’m feeling everything at once and by the time we break the kiss, we are both breathless. She smiles shyly.
“I’ll be right back. I love you.” I turn around and leave even though I don’t want to.
That went way better than I expected.
