CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

Book:THE SUPREME ALPHA'S HATED LUNA Published:2024-11-20

Reed’S POV.
I’m going to keep a close eye on Skye from now on. I’m going to make sure none of her plans against Alora work. She looks like the kind of girl who will do anything in her power to get what she wants and who knows what she is planning for Alora.
Now, you all must be confused if I’m actually on Alora’s side or not because of how mean I am to her whenever we meet face to face. The truth is, I’m on Alora’s side.
I have not been told, but I’m aware of the fact that there’s going to be a big fight for power in this castle between Alpha Jayce and his step brother. A time will come when people will have to pick sides. I have already picked my side. I will fight with Alpha Jayce to the end of this war. You must be wondering why I’m so determined to fight by his side.
Actually, there is a reason.
A very good reason.
A very shocking reason.
And I’m going to reveal it to you all later on. I promise you all will be dumbfounded, but it will all make sense.
I like Alora as Alpha Jayce’s mate and the Luna of this pack. She might be weak now, but with time, she will get stronger. The power she exudes makes me understand that she is a great woman and only needs the right training to become what she is supposed to be.
The Supreme Luna.
That’s why I can’t let anyone do anything to hurt her. We the subjects of this pack need her. The entire werewolf world needs her and most importantly, Alpha Jayce needs her. I will protect her with my life.
A knock on the door jabs me out of my thoughts. I signal whoever it is to come in and soon, a maid walks in and stands a few metres away from my table with her head bowed down.
“Good day to you, Omega Reed.” She greets in a scared tone.
All the servants and guards in this castle fear me and I swear I have no idea why. I know I’m cold and mean and can be blunt with my words, but I’m not a scary person.
I don’t treat people poorly. I don’t look down on people. I don’t fight with people and I’ve been told by many that I’m quite handsome, so I don’t get why they all treat me like an evil dark force whose sole aim is to suck their soul out of their bodies.
“What do you want?” I ask nicely.
I ask nicely, but she flinches in fear as if I’ve raised my hand up to hit her.
Seriously?
“Beta Lloyd said to summon you in his office immediately.” She announces and I scoff in annoyance.
Lloyd just summoned me.
He’s got to be kidding me.
“Tell him I won’t be coming and that if he has anything to say to me, he can either come over here and tell me or he can die with it in his stomach.” I give my reply and the maid scurries out of my office without looking back.
I wasn’t even done talking.
I’m going to tell Alpha Jayce to tell these servants that they don’t have to fear me as much as they do.
I pick up my pen and bury my head in my work. I chuckle again when the maid’s words replay in my mind.
Lloyd will never learn, will he? He knows his superiority complex will never work on me, yet he keeps trying. He has no idea how much I know him. He acts so humbly before the Alpha. Like he was a saint who wasn’t capable of committing even a single crime, but behind, he was a tyrant to the servants, especially the female servants. I’ve heard several rumours about him sexually harassing castle maids, but they do not have the audacity to speak out because of his position as Beta.
He has no idea what I’m planning for him.
“Reed!” A loud voice calls as my swings open, banging hard against the wall. I look up only to see a furious version of Lloyd storming into my office with an eternal frown masked on his face. What the hell is going on here?
“What now Lloyd?” I ask calmly. I am not even alarmed because this is not the first time he is doing something like this. I lean against the backrest of my office chair and swivel it from left to right as I monitor his frowning face.
The hell is wrong with this man?
Why is it so important that I bow to him?
“You have disrespected me once again.”
“No I haven’t. I simply said I will not be going over to your office to listen to what you have to say to me. That’s no form of disrespect.”
“I am the Beta of this pack.” He roars. I break into a smile as I watch him in amusement. “I am your superior. When I request your presence, it is your duty to show up immediately and listen to what I have to say to you. I hold a higher rank than you do in this pack and you ought to respect me. If I say stand, you stand, if I say sit, you sit. If I say kiss my ass, you fucking kiss my ass!” He bangs my table so hard, it splits into two halves. I watch in amazement as my belongings scattered all over the floor and all I can do is smile.
It feels so nice to know that I can make him so upset.
I feel like I’ve accomplished something in my life.
I push my chair backwards and rise up.
“And I’ve told you time and again Lloyd, I will never be your puppet. You might be my superior in rank, but you will never tell me what to do. For goodness sake, I don’t even take orders from the Alpha and you think I’ll take them from you?”
“Alpha Jayce has chosen to be lenient with you, but I won’t!”
“Then get ready to die of high blood pressure because I will never do what you ask of me and if you keep getting worked up like this, you will get a cardiac arrest. Lloyd I honestly think you should channel all that Beta energy you have towards something useful. Stop wasting it on me. I will never be who you want me to be.” I tell him firmly. He has both fists curled by his side. His nostrils are flaring and his chest is rising and falling hard as he takes in deep heavy breaths.
I’m scared for him right now.
“Don’t you worry Reed…” he sucks in a deep breath. His voice is shaky. He’s so angry and I’m so surprised.
Is he that desperate to have me serve him? If that’s the case then it’s really sad, because that’s never going to happen.
I only serve one person and that person is Alora. Not even my own Alpha whom I love so much.
“You’ve already caused a mess in my office. I think you should leave now.”
“This is not over. I’m going to teach you a lesson you will never forget!”
“I look forward to it, Lloyd. Now get lost.” He storms out of my office. I shake my head and my eyes trail over my totally ruined table.
That was a special order from Alpha Jayce.
I loved that table.
Lloyd is going to pay for ruining my gift from the Alpha.
