Jayce’S POV.
Skye is stepping on my very last nerves. After that very annoying conversation I had with her, I had to go out for a walk to clear my head. I’ve only let her stay in this castle for this long because of our past, but if she keeps up with this impulsive attitude, I’m going to have to send her packing.
I’m going to give her one last warning and one last chance. If she ruins it, she’ll be out of here.
After the walk which succeeded in getting my mind cleared up, I went back to my office where I buried myself in work till it was time for me to go home.
Going back home to Alora is my favourite time of the day. I always look forward to meeting her in my bedroom, looking all pretty in whatever she has on.
She is a rare gem. I’m grateful to the Moon goddess for pairing me up with her.
“Alpha Jayce.” A familiar voice calls. I don’t have to turn around to look before I know it’s Lloyd. I stop waking and he catches up with me.
“Lloyd.” I call as we walk side by side.
“Retiring for the day?” He asks casually and I smile. I like it when he addresses me casually. It makes the atmosphere less tense between us.
“Yeah, and I’m thrilled!”
“Let me guess why.” I stop walking him and he does the same. We face each other. He’s going to get it. He is definitely going to guess it right. He knows me like the back of his palm.
“You are thrilled to go home and meet Alora.” I snap my fingers before him and chuckle.
“Justly thought, rightly said.” I start walking on. “I’m excited to go home and meet her. Girl has got me wrapped around her fingers.”
“And is that a good or a bad thing?”
“I don’t know Lloyd, I really don’t know.” We get to the door to the main castle building and I stop In front of him. “We should have this informal chats more often. It’s refreshing.”
“Yes, we should. Good night Alpha Jayce.” He gives me a slight bow and walks away. I chuckle and walk into the house.
I don’t see Reed and I in the position to ever have this kind of relaxing conversation. The last time we tried, we quarrelled over milk almost all night.
I walk into the house and go straight to my bedroom, eager to see Alora. When I knock on the door, it takes less than no time for it to be opened. My face lights up when I see her. Everytime I see Alora, I still get the same feeling I got when I first saw her back at the Blue Pearl Pack. My heart still skips a beat, my face still lights up and my organs warm up as well. She’s everything to me.
“Alpha Jayce.” She calls and steps away from the doorway so I can get into the bedroom, which I do.
I wish she could hug me, maybe give me a gentle kiss and address me with a sweet name. Alpha Jayce sounds so old fashioned and I hate it when it comes from her mouth.
“How was your day?” She asks as she closes the doors. I let out a tired sigh. I’m exhausted.
“I had a very busy day. I need a long, warm bath, some good food and enough rest.”
“And that, you shall get. Why don’t you go into the closet and take off your clothes while I run you a warm bath and while taking your bath, I’ll send for a few servants to serve dinner, after which you can go to bed.” I furrow my brows and widen my eyes, giving her a surprised look.
What’s going on here? Did I get into the wrong bedroom? Alora can’t be the one saying all these things.
“That’s… if… you don’t mind.”
What exactly is there for me to mind? This is exactly what I want.
“Of course I don’t mind!” I’m still in shock. I’m looking at in bewilderment and she’s smiling so innocently. She has no idea what she has just done. To her it seems normal, but to me, this is a huge step. She wants to run me a bath.
That is tremendous progress.
Just yesterday, she couldn’t even stay in the room whenever I walked into the bathroom, but now she wants to run me a bath. This is amazing!
“So, are you okay with me doing all this?”
“Okay is an understatement Alora. I am thrilled to have you doing all this for me. Thank you.” I calmly place my hands on her shoulders and flash her my most charming smile. I feel like hugging her. Kissing her even, but I don’t want to make things awkward between us. We are already doing great. I wouldn’t want to ruin that.
“I’m happy you like the idea.”
Oh my goodness!
Someone please tell this girl there’s absolutely no need for her to walk on eggshells around me. I want her to be as expressive as she can be.
“Please go ahead and do whatever you want, Alora. This is your home and I’m going to be your husband soon. Feel free to say anything you want to me. Like I said before, I won’t eat you.” She chuckles and gives me a gentle pat on the shoulder before disappearing into the bathroom. I gently rub the spot she just touched and my heart warms up.
This feeling is exquisite.
I feel like I’m on cloud nine right now. I still can’t believe this is happening.
Grinning like a fool, I head to the closet where I take off my clothes and tie a big towel around my waist. I cannot wait to see the look on her face when I take my bath and step out of the bathroom in this towel with water dripping from body. She’s going to lose it completely.
Poor Alora.
I feel ashamed that I have only the wildest intentions towards you.

TWO HOURS LATER.
“Alora.”
“Hmmm.” Alora mumbles as she turns to look at me. We are both in the sitting area, watching a TV series on the flat screen TV. I managed to convince her that I was strong enough to watch a movie with her before going to bed and she allowed me to stay up after twenty minutes of telling me I needed to rest.
After the coronation, I’m going to spend more time with her. If we are going to be together, we have to know everything there is to know about each other and that entails us spending a lot of time together.
“You remember the party I told you about, don’t you?”
“The welcome party?”
“Yeah.”
“Uh-huh.” She nods her head.
Uh-huh.
She said uh-huh.
My God she’s so cute. I love her.
I try to hide my smile.
“It’s going to take place this weekend. Preparations are already ongoing.”
“This coming weekend?” She asks in surprise.
“Yeah. I figured it’ll be best if we get this coronation over with so you can start learning the things you need to know and also, I need to know you more and that can only happen after the coronation.” Her eyes widen and it hits me that she could have interpreted my words wrongly. “Oh no no no! Not in that sense. What I mean is…”
“I understand.” She says in the calmest voice as she places her hands on mine. Fireworks exploded through my body. “I understand what you are trying to say.” She flashes me a warm smile.
Please scratch what I said about not wanting to eat her because right now I’m tempted to do so. She’s too cute.
“Thank you for understanding. The servants will get you prepared. You don’t have to worry about anything else. All you have to do is focus on getting ready for the party. Okay?”
“Okay.”
“Cool.” I kiss her hair and pull her into my arms. My heart swells when she relaxes her body. It means she’s comfortable.
I am happy she is comfortable.
But then, something keeps troubling me. Reed told me she had a nasty encounter with Skye today. I’ve been expecting her to bring up the issue and ask about Skye, but she hasn’t. I want to ask her about it, but I’m scared I might also have to tell her about Skye.
I don’t want to lie to her. I’d rather stay quiet about it, than bring it up and lie. Skye will come up later in the future. For now, all I want to do is enjoy this very warm and cozy night with Alora.
She makes my life complete.
