CHAPTER TWENTY

Book:THE SUPREME ALPHA'S HATED LUNA Published:2024-11-20

Jovan’S POV.
It’s been more than a week since Jayce brought his mate to this pack and I’m still miserable. I’m still thinking of ways to start making their lives miserable. I’ve been quiet for some time and they might be thinking that I’ve forgotten about them, but I haven’t. I could never!
She has robbed me of the only legitimate chance for me to ascend the throne and I’m going to make sure she pays dearly for it.
A knock on the snaps me out of my thoughts and I groan in frustration. I’m really not in the mood to see or speak to anyone right now.
“Come in.” I say anyway. The door creaks open and a maid walks into the bedroom with her head bows down.
“Good day Alpha Jovan.”
“What do you want?”
“Mr. Taylor said to send for you. He says he has something important to discuss with you.” The maid reports and I sit upright on my bed.
Taylor is my best friend. He’s definitely here to tell me something important.
“Send him in.” I instruct and the maid nods in agreement before exiting my bedroom.
Once the door closes behind her, I step down from the bed and walk over to my wine bar to pour myself a drink. Whatever it is we have to discuss will surely need a few shots.
Minutes later, my room door opens and Taylor walks in. The moment he sees me, he starts smiling and I roll my eyes. He’s my age mate and we’ve been friends since kindergarten. You do not want to know about the many atrocities we’ve committed together. He’s my partner in crime.
“I can bet my life you’ve been brooding all day.” That’s the first thing he says to me.
“I haven’t been brooding.”
“You look like you have. I’ve given you many missed calls and left you over a hundred texts, but you haven’t replied any. I can bet you’ve not touched your phone for more than five hours now. That’s a sign of brooding.” He sits on the stool next to mine and serves was himself a shot of whiskey.
Taylor’s father is a remounted business man in the pack. They are well loaded, but unlike me, he likes to work. He’s CEO of one of his father’s firms and I just find that funny. I would never bother myself to work since my father’s is the Alpha. My brother Jayce and his puppets, the Beta and the Alpha control the family conglomerate. All I have to do is stay at home and enjoy my father’s wealth. It’s not my fault I was born into a wealthy home.
“Doesn’t it really matter if I’m brooding or not?”
“So you are accepting the fact that you have been brooding.”
“Why the fuck are you here?”
“Have you heard?”
“Heard what?” I asking, looking at him.
“The welcome party, wedding ceremony, I don’t know exactly what it is, but, there’s a party coming up this weekend. Alora will will be crowned Luna and her duties will begin.”
“What?” I ask aghast and he simply nods his head. A painful lump forms in my throat and I swallow it down.
Everyday seems to be getting worse.
Those two are seriously stepping on my nerves.
“Weekend. That’s fast. He couldn’t even wait!”
“Would you wait if you were in his shoes?” I let out a heavy sigh and sip more whiskey from my glass.
“I wouldn’t.”
“Good.”
“It’s annoying all the same. I hate being in this situation.”
“The coronation is going is going to happen anyway. You have to look past it. If you want to have a chance to ascend the throne, you have to think of a way to make your brother step down, be it by choice or by force. That’s what you have to focus on.” I calmly nod my head because he is right.
The coronation will happen and Alora will become Luna. I have to look past it.
“The truth is, I don’t even know where to start. I honestly don’t. Everything seems so messed up. To be honest, I don’t even feel like I have a shot at this.” I confess and he nods his head.
“It’s good you know that. This is going to be tough. This is going to be very tough Jovan. You have to go all in if you want to have the slightest chance of winning this war and it has to be bloody.”
“I’m well aware of that. I’m going to get rid of anyone who stands in my way. I don’t care who it is. No one is going to deprive me of the chance of becoming the Alpha of this pack.”
“Have you ever thought of talking to one of his men… like his Omega or Beta?”
“Lloyd, the Beta looks approachable. I might talk to him one of these days. It’ll be a lot easier if I can have an ally from within his circle. For the Omega, Reed, I don’t think I can approach him. The last time we had an encounter, he called me a walking abomination. I hate his guts.” Taylor chuckles and I don’t blame him.
Reed is just the worst.
Everyone says the same thing about him. He’s very mean and uptight. He has no friends at all!
“He called me a mistake.” Now it’s my turn to laugh.
I don’t think there’s anyone in this castle who hasn’t been insulted by Reed. He told my mum she looked like a retired pole dancer. I almost lost my mind that day.
“That is to say we have to forget about Reed. Try to get into Lloyd’s head. After all, he’s the Beta. He holds a higher position. If you can have him on your side, then you can get to Alpha Jayce.”
“Yeah, I’ll do just that.”
Minutes pass and we keep drinking in silence and all I can do think of the possible means by which I can dethrone my brother and take over.
I won’t fail.
I know I won’t!
