CHAPTER NINETEEN

Book:THE SUPREME ALPHA'S HATED LUNA Published:2024-11-20

Jayce’S POV.
“Raymond, the five year old pup I told you about the other day keeps bullying his classmate, Andy. He’s been in timeout four times this week and doesn’t seem to take his tutor’s words seriously. I think it was about time you stepped in. You are the Alpha, a few words will set him straight.” Reed explains as he drops the file he’s holding on the table.
He’s in charge of monitoring the pups training every morning and reporting their progresses and records to me.
As cold as he might seem, he is very warm around children and that’s one of the reasons why I like him so much. I can trust him to handle any pack issue, even the children.
“I’m gonna go talk to Raymond tomorrow and use that opportunity to check on the rest of the pups. Anything else?”
“Not quite. They are all doing so well in their trainings. I’m so proud of them.” I see something like a smile form on his lips but it disappears almost immediately. I smile and shake my head.
“You know, it’s still surprising to know that you get along well with children, given the spooky aura that always hovers around you.”
“I don’t have a spooky aura hovering around me!” He firmly protests and I chuckle.
“Sure you do. Just take a look at your outfit, it’s completely black.”
“Black is classy!” He argues.
“And spooky!” I contradict. “And you never smile.”
“I always smile.”
“Yes, you do. Once in six years.”
“That’s gross exaggeration!” He fires back.
“You say only the meanest things to anyone you cross paths with. Your mouth has absolutely no filter and you always look like you are on a mission.”
“I say only the truth, which is most at times butter. It’s not my fault the truth tastes so awful and for the mission part, yes, I always look like I’m on a mission because I’m always on a mission to serve you!” He firmly deciphers and I rise from my seat, chuckling. He goes back to being calm and composed as if someone were to walk in here, he or she won’t get even the slightest hint we just had a childish banter.
This happens between us all the time and I love it. It feels like I’m fighting with a stubborn little brother.
“You know for an Alpha, you sure love playing too much.”
“And so do you, Supreme Omega.” He gives me a hilarious side eye which makes me laugh.
“Now that this juvenile banter is over, can I give the other report.”
“Ride on.”
“Skye and Alora have met.” I freeze in my tracks and my heart stops beating. I feel like ice cold water has been poured over head, making my body numb.
“What?” I whisper in shock as I barely manage to spin around and look at him. He’s nodding his head.
“Yes. They have. I met them talking on my way here. Skye was saying some really mean things to Alora, but I don’t think she told her about you both. I think you should tell her before Skye does.” He advises. I lifelessly walk back to my chair where I sit, lean on the backrest and swivel from left to right.
“It’s not that easy you know.” My voice is raspy and I’m looking at him with worried filled eyes.
He’s right.
I should tell Alora about Skye before she hears it from Skye herself or someone else, but it’s hard to do that.
Alora is still not very comfortable being around me yet and I’m trying all I can to get closer to her in the calmest and most considerate way possible and one of those ways is by maintaining a good image before her.
If I tell her about my sexual encounters with Skye, I’ll be stained in her eyes and only the Moon goddess knows what she’ll hink of me.
I sigh heavily at the difficulty of the situation I find myself trapped in. There has to be another out.
“I know it’s not, bit it’s safer this way.”
“But what’s wrong with you tho?” I ask, confused and he furrows his brows at me.
“What do you mean?”
“One minute you’re furious with Alora for being a weakling and calling her names and the next minute your acting all protective and caring. Why’s that?”
“She’s my Luna. I care about her and I’m protective of her because it’s my duty to do so. You didn’t think only you have that privilege, did you?” I calmly shake my head when I understand his words.
Jerk!
“Even though she doesn’t seem to like me.”
“Can you blame her for feeling that way about you? You told her you weren’t a map when she needed your help getting back to the main castle.”
“But I’m not, am I? Anyway, if she doesn’t like me, that’s her loss not mine.”
“It sure is.” I reply sarcastically, not wanting to get into another childish argument with him. He shakes his head and waves me away.
“I guess I’m done here. I’ll retire to my office now.”
“Not so fast, I need you to…”
“Not gonna do it.” He cuts me off and I stop talking and nod my head.
Of course he won’t. No one tells him what to do. As he walks to the door, Lloyd steps in and they both halt in their tracks.
“Reed.” Lloyd calls, Reed doesn’t say a word. He just stays in his spot, both hands shoved in his pockets as he waits for Lloyd to say whatever it is he wants to say so he can leave. “I thought I asked you to head over to female training ground and do some inspection on my behalf before coming here.”
“Bold of you to assume you can actually give me orders and I’ll obey.” He shakes his head and brushes past Lloyd who turns and looks at him with a mortified expression on his face.
I fight my urge to laugh.
It feels good to know that Alora and I are not the only ones getting verbally trashed by Reed.
“What is wrong with him?” Lloyd asks once Reed is out of my office. I shrug my shoulders and rock my chair.
“You think I wouldn’t have fixed him already if I knew what was wrong with him?”
“You have got to do something about that attitude of his.” He cries and I nod my head, but deep within me, I know there’s nothing I can do about Reed’s attitude.
He’ll only change when hell freezes over.
