Andre’s POV
The battle was bloody and ferocious.
That snake, Jonas, had my pack surrounded long before I got to the battlefield. I have tried to reason with him, but he was hell-bent on choosing violence and throwing the life of his men away all because of a woman that he would never have.
The war broke out and there was bloodshed everywhere.
A wolf charged at me and in mere seconds, I shifted into my black wolf and smacked him hard with my paw.
He yelped in pain, and I grabbed him in my jaws and flung him across the grass, spilling his blood into the soil.
I searched among the fighting wolves for that snake, but I couldn’t find him anywhere.
His men were focused on killing me, and they swarmed me like bees, but I defeated them in seconds. I felt a pair of claws sinking into my right flank, and I howled in pain. Ragnar became enraged, and in a split second, I faced my assailant and growled mercilessly at him.
I clawed his face and gouged out his eye.
The socket was left empty, and blood oozed from the wolf that staggered back in pain, half-blind, his fur soaked in blood.
I pounced on him and grabbed his neck with my jaw. I clamped down on it with such force that I heard his cervical spine snap, and he fell to the ground, dead, with his tongue hanging out to the side.
I looked around at my men and saw that they were winning. I closed my eyes briefly and offered a prayer of thanks to the Goddess. If it wasn’t for Olivia, we would have been a deep trouble. I only hoped that she was safe. I only hoped that the Alvida and Hailey had done exactly what I told them to do.
A force smacked me from behind, and I rolled across the grass, barely catching myself in the last second. I stood up and faced my new enemy.
“Jonas.”
His wolf was gray, and he snarled at me angrily.
“You bastard! You could avoided all this if only you had given me Olivia! And now, I’ll make sure that you die right here!”
He charged towards me and I to him and we met in the middle with ferocious force that rippled our muscles and bones.
We clawed and snapped at each other, fur flew, and blood was spilled.
We finally backed away from each other; both our coats were soaked in our own blood.
We began to circle each other, snarling. The hairs on our backs stood on end.
“You’ll never have Olivia, Jonas. Give up and ask Elvis Pine to pull back. Look around you; look at the casualties that you are ensuring. It is your last chance. I am willing to let you live if you surrender and leave me and my family alone.”
“Fool! I’ll do no such! Olivia is mine!”
He pounced in the air, and I dodged just in time. I tried to turn away, but his paw caught me in the face, and he smacked me hard, sending me crashing to the ground with terrifying force.
I stood up quickly enough and I caught sites of Pierre and Sephora fighting side by side with each other.
I was mentally distracted as thoughts of Olivia filled my mind.
In those vital seconds, Jonas caught me off guard and pinned me to the ground.
I felt my forelimb being crushed, and I heard the bone snap.
I yelped in pain, and he stood over me, watching me hatefully.
“I will make sure you die!
He clamped his jaws around my neck, and I could feel my airways being cut off.
I struggled to breathe and tried my best to kick him off. I clawed at his face and chest, but he did not relinquish his hold.
Suddenly, a scent filled the air, and I could hear the sound of feet running towards me.
Jonas smelt it, too, and he let go of me and looked behind him.
I stole the opportunity and kicked him off, and almost instantly, a beautiful brown wolf slammed into him, sending him flying, smashing against a tree, and breaking it in half.
The wolf was snarling at him, and I looked at the belly and saw that it was…
“Olivia?”
She did not stop snarling at Jonas, who was still trying to get himself off the ground.
“What are you doing here?! I thought you were hiding with the nurse and Hailey. You could get hurt! Olivia, I’ve told you this…”
She turned to me, snarling; her eyes were darkened and full of hate.
“Jonas is mine. Find Lord Rios. Go after him, and let me take care of this for once.”
Her determination, combined with her Luna power, was so strong that I could not resist. I carefully stepped back and let her face Jonas.
I watched her pounce at him and searched the ranks as quickly as possible for Lord Rios.
I saw him standing at a distance. His face was full of shock as he saw the tide of the battle turn.
He hurriedly got into his car and was about to drive away.
I growled and dashed after him.
Before he could pull out of the driveway, I stomped on the hood of his car, and it began to smoke.
He got out, his eyes wide in fear.
“No, no, no.”
He looked around for another escape route, but I blocked him and stared down at him, snarling.
“Andre, forgive me. Forgive me for all I did. I didn’t mean to wage war against you. It was a mistake. It was a…”
I couldn’t bear to listen to him anymore.
I picked him up with my jaws and clamped down on him hard.
His screams were loud but short as my bite severed his lower half from his upper.
He fell to the ground, eyes wide open, bleeding and dead.
I turned to find Olivia and she was fighting Jonas furiously. She had him backed in the corner and was merciless with her claws and teeth.
Jonas was stronger and was able to push her away. She slammed against a tree and fell unconscious.
I was enraged. I felt something in me snap, and I charged towards the bastard.
He saw me coming and I saw the fear in his eyes. Olivia had weakend him. He had no where to run.
He shifted back to human form and was on his knees. I stopped in my tracks. Who in their right mind shifts into human form in the middle of a fight?
“Master! Master!”
I was confused. Who was he calling to?
“Master Dor…”
Doran walked up behind him. He had a dagger in his hand. I was stunned.
“Doran. Wait. What are you doing? We need him alive.”
Jonas turned around and saw Doran. His eyes grew wide, and he clung to his trousers.
“Aren’t you going to do something about this, Master? We are losing this battle!”
I saw a glint in Doran’s eyes. He grabbed Jonas’ hair, and he groaned in pain.
“Master?” He squeaked.
He raised the dagger, and it glistened in the sun’s beam.
“I am not your Master…”
