Olivia’s POV
“Men! Forward!”
The loud shout filled the air, and there was a stampede.
Men and wolves alike dashed around the Reiss’ house. It was chaos, and Andre led the charge. He ran and transformed into his wolf. His green eyes glowed with anger and hate.
I stood behind and watched. My wolf was on a high rock, watching the judgement that was befalling Jonas and his family.
His men fell like livestock at the hands of Andre and his warriors. Sephora and Pierre fought together in a furious frenzy. Both were watching each other’s back and left a blood trail behind them as they blazed through the weak front lines.
I howled loudly, and the men responded with a howl. Our cries filled the air and made the enemy tremble. I looked at the mansion and saw Donovan looking out from the top window.
Our eyes clashed, and he retreated. I snarled. He wasn’t going to get away.
I lunged forward and ran at full speed. Some men blocked my way.
“Nima! We know what to do!”
I surrendered myself to my instincts. I let Nima take full control, and she became frenzied and unhinged. She tore through the men. I felt one of them bite down on my leg.
I yelped in pain but turned around and grabbed his neck in my jaw. A loud crack, and it was over for him.
I flung his limp body at the rest of the men that attacked me.
Two were hit by the corpse, and the other three escaped. They all lunged at me but were pinned to the ground by three of our men.
“Luna, charge forward. The Alpha needs you!”
I obeyed and dashed into the house. It was our men. Our men had made sure that it was going to be reduced to rubble. I was going to burn it down the same way that they burned down my family’s house.
I followed the scent of blood and found Donovan dead in a room. I didn’t feel sorry for him at all. His limbs had been ripped off, and he was losing blood by the minute.
“That is what you deserve.”
He turned his head to look at meI guess he was still alivehis eyes were wide open, and I could tell that he had a curse on his lips. But he never got to say it. He fell again. Thoroughly dead.
“Ahhhh! Stay away from me!”
I shrill scream filled the air. I ran in the direction of it and saw Lilian backed up against the wall. Andre, in his wolf form, was snarling at her, inching closer and closer, his eyes full of murderous intent.
“What are you doing?! You have killed my father! Isn’t that enough for you?! Don’t you remember the glorious time that we had together, Andre? I could have made you feel inconceivable pleasure, but you chose to stay with that pathetic mate of yours. Would you really kill a woman? Aren’t you a gentleman?”
I watched the two of them for a while, waiting for Andre’s decision. Lilian had tried to drive a wedge between Andre and me. I wasn’t going to forgive her for that, but was Andre?
It was as if time had stopped. Andre pounced and pinned her to the ground. That was how quickly it was over.
When Andre had raised his head, she was bleeding profusely from the neck. Her clothes were soaked in blood, and more of it pooled around her.
“I would never choose anyone over my mate,” he said to her corpse.
He turned to look at me. He knew I was standing there, and he did it to prove his loyalty to me. I was dumbfounded.
“Lilian!”
We turned to the door and saw Javier. His face was covered in blood, and he was panting heavily.
When he saw his sister dead at Andre’s feet, he was wild with fury.
“You murderer! You killed her! You killed my sister!”
It was over for him just as quickly. Just as he was about to transform into his wolf, Sephora dashed in and grabbed him in her jaws. She wasted no time in crushing him, severing his torso from the rest of his body.
It was a bloody affair.
“Has anyone seen Jonas?” Andre asked.
“North of here,” Sephora replied. “I got the report from one of our men. I doubt he would still be there. Bastard is sneaky as hell,” Sephora added while her eyes glanced around.
Sephora had barely finished the report when Andre and I dashed out to find Jonas. We couldn’t afford to let him escape.
We caught up to him. He was limping. He was still in his human form, probably so that he wouldn’t draw attention to himself.
Andre and I picked up the pace. Andre pounced and as if he could his movements, Jonas evaded and transformed into wolf form.
I stopped in my tracks and watched the battle. I didn’t want to get in the way. Their auras were so powerful that neither of them could contain the conversation in their mind. It was loud enough for me to hear.
“Bastard! You killed my family!”
“You killed Olivia’s!”
Andre lunged for him but he evaded. Jonas’ attacks were more or less defensive. He couldn’t win Andre in a battle of raw power because he was hurt.
“They didn’t give me what was mine! I was to marry Olivia but they took her away from me. She was promised to me!”
Jonas snapped back and his jaws caught Andre’s leg. He bit down hard and I heard Andre’s leg crack under the pressure.
Andre kicked him off to create some distance between them. His leg was badly injured. His blood dyed the grass below him.
“Do you really think that you have won, Andre? Do you think that this is all the family that I have?”
Andre pounced on Jonas with such force that the ground shook slightly as he fell.
“You can have as many as five hundred of them, and we would still take you down.”
I saw a cunning flicker in Jonas’ eyes.
“Be careful what you wish for, Andre.”
It was so fast that I barely saw it. Jonas grabbed Andre’s neck. His teeth sank into it, and blood sprayed everywhere.
He tossed Andre aside and made a run for it.
I went after him, but I heard Andre moan in pain. I stopped in my tracks. He was hurt. I had to go help him.
The decision was tough, but nothing was more important than my mate’s life.
I ran back to Andre.
“You’re hurt…”
“Go after him,” he said weakly. His voice was barely audible. Jonas must have crushed his voice box.
“No. You’re more important.”
I was able to hoist him on my back and walk back towards the men. There was a flickering light in the distance. The men had set fire to Jonas’ house, and I burned like a torch.
I sighed. We had won, but Jonas had escaped.
