Jonas’ POV
We left the dining room and walked back to my father’s meeting room.
Lily tried to support me as I walked, but I beat her off.
“Don’t you dare touch me!”
We went to the meeting room, and I sat down on a sofa, grabbed the box of tissues on the table, and began dabbing the blood that flowed from my nose and lips.
We were all silent for a while, and all we could do was cast stares at each other.
The silence irritated me, and I grabbed another tissue from the box.
“So? Isn’t anyone going to say anything? We can’t let Olivia leave this place with that bastard! She’s mine. You all were there when her parents promised her to me. I must make sure that that promise is kept and fulfilled. Imagine the heiress of Solvan with our family. With her power, we can conquer the other packs, reunite them, and build the Empire of Solvan again. Our family would breed the new generation of the Descendants of Selene. It would be the greatest honour our family has ever received.
My father and brothers’ anxieties disappeared in an instant and they nodded their heads as they agreed with me with greedy smiles on their faces.
“I’m glad that you all think that way.”
I looked at Lilian, and she looked unconcerned.
“Lily, doesn’t any of this matter to you? Do you have anything to say?”
She rolled her eyes.
“If you think that I’m going to support you going head-on with that woman’s strong Alpha, then you must be thicker in the head than I thought. Look at you! He already beat you senseless. Do you think that you can take him on by yourself? You know how much I hate losing.”
I growled at Lillian, but I couldn’t help but realise that she was right. There was no way we could take Andre all by ourselves, especially now that he’d been feeding off Olivia’s power.
I looked at my younger sister, Hailey, but she was trembling in fear.
“What is wrong with you?” I snapped at her angrily.
She jumped in fear, readjusted her dress, and tried to regain her composure.
“I… I do not agree with any of this fighting. We can’t win. We destroyed the Empire of Solvan and we can’t be the ones to rebuild it. We have done so much wrong and I think we should atone for it by letting them go.”
Everyone glared at Hailey and she sunk into her chair.
We all knew who she was. She was weak and fearful, too scared to take what was hers, and we all hated her for that. She was the prettiest lady in our family but ever since she lost her suitor to another lady and refused to fight and take him back, we grew to hate her even more.
I volunteered to kill his lover for herWe needed the marriage to secure an alliancebut she refused and even warned the bastard to leave the pack with his lover if he wished to stay alive.
“How dare you say that at a time like this?!” I barked at her. “Don’t you know that your family’s honour is at stake? You disgust us, Hailey. We always knew that you were weak-willed. You shouldn’t even be here! Get out!”
She whimpered and a tear slid down her face as she got up and left the meeting room.
All of us looked at her with disgust as she left. We knew that we couldn’t trust her. She was a traitor and was not fit to run our pack.
Just as she was about to leave, I called out to her.
“I know what you are capable of. Stay out of this. This isn’t your business. If you meddle, I will not hesitate to put you down. Unlike you, I put my family’s honour first.”
She looked at me with tears in her eyes and finally left.
When the door slammed shut, I turned to my brothers and father.
“Lilian is right. We can’t face Andre alone, so I’m proposing an allegiance. I believe that we should divulge that the heiress of Solvan is here. This will cause all the packs in Elvis Pine to clamour for her. Obviously, they will mobilise themselves to fight against Andre and defeat him, but once that is said and done, we will take Olivia for ourselves and subdue the other packs. We are already stronger than them, so it is a plan that cannot fail.”
There was a light applause around the room as my family members hailed my ingenuity. My father looked at me in pride and nodded his head.
“You truly are my son, strong and witty.”
It didn’t take long for a notice to be drafted telling the other packs that the heiress of Solvan was back.
We gave the notice to one of our guards to deliver it to every pack in Elvis Pine.
“Make sure the three Royal Pack gets it. Do you understand?”
“Yes, my Prince,” he said fearfully, with a gulp.
He disappeared through the door, and as my family muttered, a devilish grin grew on my face.
This plan was bound to work. There was no way Andre could stand all the packs in Elvis Pine. He was just one man with one pack; he would easily be overwhelmed. And when he was done for, I would take Olivia and rise from the carnage. All the other packs would be at my disposal, and my bloodline would have the new Descendants of Selene.
I chuckled to myself.
Andre wouldn’t know what hit him.
