Andre’s POV
We left the room. Olivia was still clutching my arm tightly. I could still feel the eyes all over her as we walked out.
I wrapped my arm around her waist defensively and clutched the paper in my hands. It was still very strange that they kept detailed records of Olivia’s father. Something wasn’t right.
We were finally alone, and Olivia eased up a little.
“I think we should go and look for Papa. We have the coordinates. There is nothing left for us to do today. I think I’d rather go out than spend another second with Jonas’ family.”
I smiled at Olivia and planted a kiss on her forehead.
“I couldn’t agree with you more. Also, thank you.”
She blushed a light pink and looked up at me. Her eyes were confused, and she looked simply adorable.
“Thank you? For what?”
“For standing up for me and taking my feelings into account when Jonas came. It means a lot to me.”
I kissed her forehead, but my body gave in, and I pulled her in close and covered her lips with a wet kiss.
When I pulled away, she was a bright pink, and she was swooning from the feel.
“We should probably get going,” I said with a smile while tugging on her cheek.
She nodded, and we rallied our guards together, and they got the cars ready.
Olivia and I stepped outside, and just as we were about to get in, we heard footsteps behind us.
“Wait up!”
We spun around and saw Jonas walking briskly towards us. My smile immediately faded. What was he doing here?
Jonas approached us with a smile on his face. I wondered what he was smirking about.
“I’m coming along. I know this pack better than anyone. I’m certain that you will have no trouble finding the coordinates, but the members of the pack might not allow you to snoop around if the coordinates are on private property. I’ll even save you the time of decoding them.”
I snarled under my breath so that no one would hear. This bastard was biting more than he could chew.
I was hell-bent on refusing, but as soon as I saw the joy on Olivia’s face, my resolve melted away, and all I could do was smile.
“Olivia, how about you enter the car and wait for us? I need to talk to Jonas.”
She was more than happy to go in, and as soon as she closed the door, I glared daggers at Jonas and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt.
“What the fuck do you think you are doing?”
Jonas smirked and pulled my hands off his chest and dusted himself off.
“I’m just trying to be helpful. It’s not my fault that Olivia seems to enjoy my company. What’s the matter, big guy? Is someone a little jealous?”
I snarled. My patience was a hair strand thin. I would snap any second.
“You watch your mouth. I don’t trust you or your family around my mate. We don’t need you to come with us.”
“Well, that would be a shame, wouldn’t it? It seems that Olivia wanted me to come. Just think about how upset she would be if she found out that you were pretending to be nice to me all this time.”
I wanted to retort, but I held my tongue. As much as I hated him and didn’t trust him around my mates, he was right. Olivia wouldn’t want to know that I stopped him from coming. He also knew the pack better than I did, and having him help us search the coordinates would help us cover more ground much faster.
My balled fist relaxed and fell to my side.
“I will be watching you, Jonas,” I snarled threateningly. And you better not make any funny attempts. No dirty tricks, or I promise you, I will end you.”
Jonas raised his hands slightly above his head in mock defeat.
He turned away from me, and I could tell that he was about to get into the driver’s side passenger seat, but I stopped him.
“If you are going to come along with us, you are not riding in the same car as us. I believe this is your pack, and you should get your man to follow you. Don’t think of crossing the lines else you will find out what I’m capable of.”
He chuckled sarcastically.
“And what do you think you are capable of? This is my pack. You’re in my territory.”
My eyes narrowed down on his, and I was certain I could burn a hole in his chest with this intensity.
“Test me and find out.”
He shook his head with a sinister smile and rearranged his shirt collar.
“Tsk, tsk, tsk. You should learn to be more trusting. Ollie wouldn’t approve of this behaviour.”
I felt a blood vessel in my head nearly pop. He was still calling her Ollie!
He walked away from me and got into his car, which wasn’t parked far from mine.
I got in my car and sat beside Olivia.
“That was a long talk. Is everything alright? Where is Jonas? Isn’t he coming anymore?”
Olivia’s countenance began to fall, and I was able to salvage it in time.
“He wanted to drive in his car to give us some privacy.”
Her face brightened up again, and she relaxed in my arms.
Our cars pulled out of the compound, and we were soon on the road.
The car was silent but my thoughts were a jumbled mess.
I was hysterical. Jonas was definitely up to something, and it killed me knowing that I had no idea what it was.
I stole a glance at my kitten, and her attention was turned to the beautiful trees that passed by her window. The breeze rustling her hair made her look like a goddess. The scene was perfectly picturesque. She did look like a Descendant of Selene.
I took the opportunity and whipped out my phone.
I hurriedly typed on the keyboard. I sent a message to my associate on Elvis Pine. I needed information on Jonas’ weird family and all the strongest packs in the Elvis Pine. If there was a likelihood that we would be attacked by one of them just because we have some affiliation with Jonas’ family, then we had to be ready for anything.
But I was more interested in uncovering the secrets Jonas and his family were hiding. Their stares at Olivia betrayed them every single time. They knew something about her. It was beyond mere admiration.
I slipped my phone back into my pocket and flexed my fingers.
Having Jonas on this trip was a detriment. What if he tried to hurt Olivia? What if…
“Andre…”
Her soft voice pulled me from my thoughts. Her blue eyes stared into my soul, and I felt my anxiety disappear-although temporary.
“… Are you okay? You look worried.”
I pulled her close and kissed her forehead.
“I’m alright. I’m just thinking about our baby. I just hope that all this adventure doesn’t affect him or her.”
She giggled and snuggled closer to me.
“Our baby is going to be just fine.”
