Olivia POV
When I woke up, I realised that we were slowing down. I sat up and saw that the fleet of cars in front of us had stopped.
“It seems that we are finally here,” Andre said with a disapproving tone in his voice.
It didn’t take long for the cars to begin moving again, and we passed through a pair of wide golden gates.
I felt my anger for Jonas spark again. I still couldn’t believe that he kept his true identity a secret from me. He never said anything about him being a rich Prince.
I huffed and leaned backwards into the car, folding my arms in annoyance and trying not to look impressed.
Andre, on the other hand, looked sceptical. His hands found mine, and he squeezed them tightly and protectively.
We were still driving for a while, and after about ten minutes, we pulled up in front of a large and lavish mansion.
I was astounded. I knew that Jonas was rich but I didn’t think that he was this rich. His house was like a castle and was draped in expensive white and gold.
I didn’t want to seem rude, but Andre’s mansion could even be compared to Jonas’s. However, it only created even more suspicion around him.
If he was this rich and this comfortable, and he had good security, then what was he doing in the city, and why was he staying in a friend’s pack?
The questions dissipated as soon as they came when we were given the signal to step out of the vehicle.
I took a deep breath and when I looked up at Andre, he had a stone-cold expression. His lips were thin and relaxed. He looked like he had never smiled in years.
We all got out of the car, walked to the front step, and met Jonas standing on the top step beside his brother and sister with a welcoming smile on his face.
“Welcome to my home. I really hope that you enjoy it here. It might be a change of pace from what you are normally used to, but I promise to be a good host.”
I smiled expectantly, but Andre gave a deep growl. It was subtle, but Jonas smirked sinisterly at Andre. However, it disappeared in seconds-almost as if I imagined it.
I ignored him and looked at his sister, Lilian. That bitch still had her sights set on my man.
It wasn’t difficult to catch the seductive glances that she threw his way.
“Now,” said Jonas loudly. “We may proceed inside.”
Jonas and his siblings led the way, and the rest of us, along with about sixteen guards, followed closely behind.
My dislike for Lilian was dissolved as I saw the rich architecture and tapestry that draped the inside of the mansion. The floors and ceilings shone like they had been freshly polished, and the light reflected off them beautifully, giving them an elegant glow.
“This is so beautiful,” I said under my breath.
Andre heard me and mumbled something angrily in reply. It wasn’t difficult to tell that he wasn’t happy to be here, and I could almost bet that he wished he had gone along with Sephora’s plan and booked a hotel.
The hallways seemed to go on forever, but we soon took a left and were ushered into a large hall.
The furniture was exquisite and expensive, and the smell of rich and heavily scented perfume hung in the air.
We stopped, and across the hall stood a young lady, much younger than me, and three other men.
Jonas left us and walked towards them. He took the lady’s hand and kissed it tenderly, and my heart skipped a beat.
J… Jonas was… Was… Engaged?!
How many more secrets was he going to keep from me?
After making small talk with the lady, hugging her, and kissing her affectionately on her cheek, he greeted the three men.
Andre, I, and the other guards watched on in silence and confusion. What the hell was this?
Soon, the pleasantries ended, and Jonas walked up to us with the three men and the young lady.
“Olivia, Andre, I would like you to meet my father, Donovan, and my two other brothers, Jaden and Javier. My little sister, Hailey, is the beautiful lady on my right.”
Hailey gave a polite curtsy and blushed sweetly as she locked eyes with Andre and I.
She walked up to me and offered her hand for a shake but was cautious not to stare at Andre.
“It is very nice to meet you, Olivia.”
She was shy and reserved, nothing like her flirty sister, Lilian, who stood at the side, still staring at Andre with a smile on her lips.
I was so going to punch that smirk off her face.
She stepped back, and I was about to greet Jonas’ father and brothers, but I stopped in my tracks. My skin crawled uncomfortably, and my face and ears became red.
I gave a nervous smile and stepped back. Why were they looking at me like that?
Jonas’ brothers were staring at me. Their eyes darted all over my body, and lust was bubbling in their gaze. Jonas’ father was no different, and he looked at me and licked his lip in pleasure and satisfaction.
I was frozen to a spot, but Andre grabbed me and pulled me defensively to his side, wrapping his arm around my waist and staring threateningly at the men.
Sephora jumped into action as well and stood in front of me and fixed her sights on that bitch, Lilian.
There was so much tension in the air that the wind seemed to come to a standstill in the room, and silence took over.
I was so nervous. This wasn’t how I expected our first meeting to go.
Jonas gave a hearty chuckle and stepped forward, patting his brothers and father on the shoulders and pulling them out of their trance-like state.
“Forgive my brothers and father. They aren’t just used to seeing very beautiful females.”
“And I wonder why that is,” replied Andre roughly.
The men were shocked, and they stared at Andre angrily, but he stood his ground.
Jonas chuckled again in a vain attempt to dissipate the tension in the room.
“I think that we are all tired from the long journey, and we should probably all get some rest.”
He called a few maids, who rushed in front of him and bowed. He asked them to take us to our rooms and instructed them about lodging for Andre’s security detail.
Finally, we were escorted out of the hall and shown to our rooms on the third floor.
“Alpha King Donovan had this entire floor cleared for your arrival. There is a little living area where you can have collective meetings with your staff. This paper has your rooms and… ”
Andre snatched the paper from the maids, and she jumped in fright and whimpered as she saw Andre’s green pupils glaring down at her.
“Thank you, but I believe that we can find our own rooms here. Your aid was much appreciated.”
The maid took the hint and disappeared. Andre, Sephora, Pierre, and I slipped into the living area and locked the doors behind us.
“I hate this place. I hated the way his father and brothers were looking at me.”
The words burst from my mouth, and my skin crawled, as if I were just imagining it all over again.
“I agree with the Luna,” Sephora added. “I especially do not like that Lilian lady.”
Sephora punched her palm threateningly, and I heard her knuckles crack.
Andre was just as restless as the rest of us.
“I don’t like them either, but we just have to pull through just today, and we can leave tomorrow. I already have someone cleaning and preparing the mansion my friend loaned us.”
Andre’s words seemed to make everyone relax. I just wanted this day to be…
Knock! Knock!!
There was a loud knock at the door, and a maid gingerly pushed it open and poked her head in.
“Forgive my intrusion, dear Alpha, but Alpha King Donovan has requested your presence at dinner.”
All eyes turned to Andre, and he sighed.
“Tell him that we will be there.”
As soon as the maid left and closed the door behind her, I felt my heart beat rapidly.
I didn’t want to have to go through that horror again. Not again…
