Andre’s POV
I lay beside my beautiful woman, watching her breathe slowly and taking in her scent. She was perfect.
My cock throbbed a little, and when I grasped it, a sharp pleasurable sensation shot through my body. I groaned and took my hand off it.
I turned to look at Olivia and saw that she was falling asleep. Her skin felt sticky with all the sweat and love juices.
“Princess, wake up. Let me get you cleaned first.”
“Huh?”
Her eyes were drooping, and she looked so cute as I tried to get her to stand up so that she could have a bath. I carried her to the bathroom and placed her in the tub. She barely flinched and continued to rest in my arms.
I ran her a warm bath, and as she slept, I cleaned her. The scent of hot, steamy sex ebbed away and was replaced by the scent of jasmine and rosemary.
“Andre…”
She mumbled my name sleepily but didn’t wake up. She was simply adorable.
I finished washing her up and dabbed her dry with a towel. I never realised how light she was. I could pick her up and turn her around without a problem.
Finally, she was clean, and I placed her in bed with new covers and sheets so that she could sleep well. As soon as she touched the mattress, she stirred a little in her sleep, but she soon became still.
I watched her a little longer. I was fussing over her, but I didn’t mind. I wanted to know that she was okay.
I headed to the bathroom again and had a quick shower. I enjoyed the water running all over my body, washing all the sweat away. My mind dwelled on my mate and how beautiful she would look with a baby bump. She was just a few weeks pregnant, so she didn’t have one yet. I adored her strength, still insisting on impressing the women’s council and going on her mission to Elvis Pine.
It made me so proud of her. I adored her with my life.
I finally finished up, got dressed, and slipped out of the room as quietly as I could, turning off the lights so that my Princess could rest.
I was in fresh clothes and headed back to the study. As I entered, I saw Pierre sitting at the desk typing on his laptop.
“Sir, you’re back. I thought that you had gone to bed. I was just about to call you.
I didn’t reply and instead walked over to his side and looked at the laptop screen.
“What’s the update on Nicole?”
Pierre turned to me with a smirk.
“We have her, Sir. She is in our custody.”
I huffed in satisfaction and gave a slow nod.
“Good. I want her back here before the break of dawn. That bitch has a lot to spill.”
“Yes, Sir.”
Pierre made the phone call while I walked away from him to make another call.
“Alpha.”
The deep voice on the other end saluted me respectfully.
“The mission is partly done. Place all of Jonas’ gadgets back in his room and allow him to keep having fun. I have what I want, for now.”
“Yes, Alpha.”
The call ended, and I continued to stand in the corner, thinking.
This went a little too easy. I had fought with Jonas and he seemed to be a very formidable opponent. I expected more from him, but it seems that my expectations were too high.
He wasn’t a gentleman. He was a fraud and a fuckboy. Who knew that it would only take women to get him distracted and give us access to all his gadgets? The man was a fool.
Anyway, I was satisfied. My little princess thought too highly of him. I had videos of him being the fuckboy that he is, and if he dared to move against me, I was going to make them public.
The first rule of facing an enemy is to always have leverage against them.
I remembered how Jonas was looking at Olivia the first day I saw him. I hated it and I was jealous and uncomfortable. But now, Olivia and I were having a baby, starting our own family, and there was no way, in hell, that he was going to come between us. I wasn’t even going to let him.
I remembered the way Olivia fiercely protected our child when I was talking to her in the hospital. I only had her interest at heart. I knew she loved me, but I never thought that I would see the day that she would threaten to throw me out if I even thought of harming our child.
I was proud of her. I knew that she was stronger than what she gave herself credit for. It was just something about her that kept pulling me to her. I had felt it countless times, and it was something more than the mate bond.
I was all smiles… I couldn’t explain how much I loved…
“Sir?”
I was tugged out of my thoughts and turned to see Pierre looking at me with a grin on his face.
“Have you made the call?” I asked.
He gave a confident nod, but his smirk didn’t waver.
“I have. I just wanted to know if you were okay. You have been standing there and smiling for a while now. What have you been thinking about?”
The tease in his voice was something that I had never expected. Pierre was so formal with me. He was not like Doran.
He raised his eyebrows, urging me to talk, but I pushed it aside. He seemed to have been spending too much time around Doran.
“Just because I have been going easy on you doesn’t mean that it is a green card for you to start crossing boundaries.”
I expected Pierre to sober up but he gave a little chuckle instead.
“I would never cross your boundaries, Sir. But you might have to give me a little more respect, considering that I am going to be a godfather soon. I believe that position comes with some liberties.”
There was an internal pause, and I burst into a short fit of laughter.
“What have you been drinking, Pierre? Are you being serious?”
He gave a nod and I couldn’t help but chuckle some more.
“Do you really think that you can take Doran on for that position?”
Pierre sat confidently in his chair, crossed his legs and readjusted his tie.
“We’ll just have to see about that, won’t we? But may the best man win…”
