Andre’s POV
When I returned home from my meeting, I realised that the mansion felt cold and solemn. I hadn’t seen Olivia. I asked one of the maids where she was, but they told me that she hadn’t left my room all day.
I was worried, and soon, I began to feel a terrible sinking feeling in my heart–something was wrong with Olivia.
I dashed up the stairs to our room, and when I opened the door, Olivia was curled on the bed, sobbing loudly into a pillow.
I closed the door softly behind me and approached her gently. I couldn’t tell if she knew that I was in the room, but I lowered myself to the bed and looked at her sadly, thinking of the best way to comfort her.
I pulled the pillow away from her and stroked her hair softly, but it didn’t quell the crying.
“What is wrong, princess? Why are you crying?”
She sobbed even louder, and I decided not to ask anymore until she calmed down. I lay beside her and pulled her into a soft embrace, allowing her to sob on my chest and listen to my soothing heartbeat.
The sobbing soon became whimpering, then light sniffing, and soon, all was silent. I decided to ask her again.
“Olivia, what happened to you?”
Her voice was choked and coarse.
“Ever since we got back, we haven’t made any plans of preparations to go to Elvis Pine”
Her voice steadily rose and became angrier. She pushed me away, creating some distance between us and turned to the other side of the bed.
“You promised that you were going to help me find out about my dad, but since we got back, you never mentioned it.”
She buried her head under a pillow, and her angry voice sounded muffled.
“I can’t believe I allowed myself to get so carried away with you that I lost sight of what was important to me. You broke your promise to help me. You lied to me just to keep me here because I promised I wouldn’t run away again. You promised to support me, but you haven’t done that. What would my dad say if you saw me now?”
I watched her start to cry all over again. My heart was shattered. I should have told her earlier that I had made preparations. I wanted them to be secret so that she wouldn’t have to worry about them, but it seemed that now was the only time that I could tell her.
I moved closer to her and turned her body so that she could face me. She resisted at first and smacked my hand away, but I didn’t relent.
I pushed her curly locks away from her face and looked at her blue eyes that sparkled like jewels with tears in them.
“Olivia, I never forgot about the preparations to go to Elvis Pine and for a fact, I had been making them. I just didn’t want to tell you because you already had so much going on. I know the council is being tough on you, and your training is also in session. I just thought that it would be good for me to take something off your mind so that you could focus on something else.”
Her eyes shone as I spoke, and she seemed more intrigued.
“You… you… already made preparations?”
I could feel that I was reeling her in on the smirk of pride that crossed my face.
“Yes, I have. I have a platoon of warriors ready to follow us. I have surveillance of Elvis Pine, covering every street and alley, as well as aerial surveillance, just in case. I also managed to get in contact with some of my associates who live there, and they have been giving me regular feedback on the security situation”
I pulled out my phone and showed her the conversations I had regularly had with my associates. So far, Elvis Pine has been quite calm, and criminal activity has been on a low level for the past six months.
Olivia looked at the conversation, and her sadness slowly turned to shame. She buried her head in my chest, and her voice was soft and gentle.
“I… I am so sorry, Andre. I didn’t know… I should have asked… I didn’t mean…”
I cut her off with a kiss and felt her tense body relax at my touch. I pulled away from her and enjoyed how flushed her face was.
“You don’t have to apologise. I understand how much this means to you, and I said I was going to support you, and I meant it. We can go as soon as you become the Luna.”
She looked at me, slightly puzzled.
“Luna? Why do I have to wait till then? If all these preparations have already been made, we can go as soon as possible, can’t we?”
I pulled her in close and planted a kiss on her forehead.
“You know I only want you to be safe, and leaving here as Luna of this pack is an extra security measure. A pack is the projection of its Alpha and Luna. Going there as Luna gives you some kind of immunity, and even if there is a planned attack that might harm us, they’ll hesitate before they act on it. Declaring war on an Alpha or Luna of a park is equivalent to declaring war on the park itself, and I am certain that even a place like Elvis Pine isn’t anticipating war with any pack.”
I sunk into the covers silently. I wasn’t the Luna of the pack just yet, so it seemed reasonable that Andre had more insight into delicate matters such as this. I was only glad that he had not gone back on his word. I felt so foolish for doubting him the first time.
“I really am sorry, Andre. I shouldn’t have said those hurtful things to you and blamed you for everything or…”
He placed his finger gently on my lips to silence me. I smiled and blushed pink. Why did he have to be so sweet?
“I can still smell your juices, kitten.”
I blushed even harder. A few minutes ago, I had been mad at him, and I was still craving his touch. I can’t believe he had known that all this time.
“I made the trip to the laboratory and told them your symptoms. Unfortunately, they told me that they would get back to me within a week. A week is a long time, and I suppose that I’ll have to do my best to keep up with your sexual demands.”
His voice lowered and became husky, sending shivers down my spine. I smirked at him naughtily as he pinned me to the bed.
“I’d like to see you try to keep up with me.”
He snarled and ripped off my panties, teasing my clit with his fingers while I moaned softly.
“You are going to regret saying that, kitten…”
