Andre’s POV
Olivia went to school early the next day, and I was alone in my office. I needed to give the phone to Doran for him to analyse the text message. I had already called him to my office, but he was running late.
The afternoon felt a little lonely, and all I could think about was my night with Olivia, having her wrapped in my arms and whimpering softly. She looked beautiful when she was asleep. So peaceful and delicate.
Soon, there was a knock at my door.
“Come in.”
The door opened gently, and Doran walked into the office.
“Good afternoon, Alpha.”
“Doran, I was waiting for you. I need you to analyse a text message for me.
He gave a weak smile and lowered himself on the chair.
“A reply to the greeting and a little small talk wouldn’t hurt before we got down to business. Don’t you think?”
I chuckled lightly, pulled out the phone, and placed it on the table.
“Doran looked at the phone suspiciously, opened it, and saw the text message. He was silent for a while, and then his lips curled into a smile.
“Wow, who on earth is calling you a vixen? I never took you to be the foxy type.”
I rolled my eyes. Doran was always making jokes.
“Can we just be serious here?” I said to him.
“I am being serious. Seriously intrigued. Does this have something to do with your mysterious lady friend?”
I rolled my eyes and huffed. Doran could be impossible sometimes.
“Well, if you must know. Yes, it does.”
His eyes lit up with even more intrigue and curiosity.
“Well, isn’t that just fascinating? Well, I am going to have to decline your offer to analyse this text message until I meet the mystery lady. Once I meet her, I’ll have my men work on the message.”
I scoffed at him. “You can’t be serious, Doran.”
He chuckled.
“I am Andre. You have been looking different. You are more bright-eyed and alert, and I can smell her scent on you. Just cut to the chase and tell me who she is already. I wouldn’t say I like all the mystery. Last I checked, you are the Alpha and not a magician.”
I put my hands together and leaned forward.
“Just do it for me. I’ll owe you one. I promise.”
“No way, Andre. You owed me one three years ago, and I still haven’t come for my favour. I am not letting you off the hook.”
“Nice try,” he added.
I reclined into the seat and exhaled deeply.
“Come on, Andre. Just tell me. Even Amelia has been asking why you look so happy these days.”
“Happy?” I said in surprise.
“Oh, don’t act clueless. I have caught you smiling to yourself countless times. Just because I don’t say anything doesn’t mean that I am blind, and neither is my wife.”
I groaned. He has won. I couldn’t take it anymore.
“Fine, I will tell you. But you have to promise me one thing.”
He smiled and leaned in closer to me.
“What’s that?”
“You can’t tell Amelia.”
He chuckled and threw his head back, and I rolled my eyes.
“I’m sorry, Andre. I didn’t mean to laugh. But that is going to be a little difficult. She knows how to make me talk. She has that natural charm.”
I smirked.
“Well, it’s your job to uncharm yourself if you want me to tell you about her. Deal?”
He smiled. “Okay, okay, okay. Fine. I won’t tell her. I’ll try my best.”
“Good. Now, back to business. I need you to run the analysis on this phone message and get me all the necessary information. Name and address and any other thing that will be vital to me. After you have done all that, I will introduce you to her this evening.”
Doran smiled and grabbed the phone.
“You better not be deceiving me, Andre.”
He closed the door behind him, and I was alone again. I now had a new task of finding a way to introduce Olivia to Doran.
Why do I allow him to push me into things like this? I shook my head and smiled to myself. He was a fantastic Beta and an even more amazing friend.
I picked up my phone and called the mansion staff, and the head maid answered.
“Good afternoon, Alpha Andre .”
“I need a dinner for three to be prepared in my room on the balcony. I need you to be very discreet about it. I don’t want Nicole or any of the staff working for her to know about it. Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes, Alpha. I will get started right away.”
The line went dead, and I relaxed in my seat and swirled from side to side.
I picked up my phone and called Pierre. It didn’t take too long, and he picked up the phone.
“Alpha Andre, is everything alright?”
“Everything is good, Pierre. I need you to tell Nicole that I need her to attend a quick meeting in the city. It is important that she does it today.”
“Alright, I will tell her right away. Is there anything else that you need?”
I thought long and hard, and then it popped into my head.
“Yes. I need the names of everyone working under Nicole or anyone that Nicole employed.”
“I should have a list. I will send it to you right away.”
The call ended, and I put my phone down.
This was the best way to ensure I had a comprehensive list of everyone she employed. If information about the dinner is leaked to her, I might have a loose end that I haven’t tied, and I couldn’t risk it.
Nicole has gone far enough, and I wanted to make sure that no one was feeding her vital information.
