CHAPTER EIGHT

Book:THE SUPREME ALPHA'S HATED LUNA Published:2024-11-19

Jayce’S POV.
I left the room to let Alora rest after the sweet moment we had together. She must be very exhausted from the journey and everything that has been going. She’s still scared and unsure about what’s going on. I can see the uncertainty when I look into her eyes. She doesn’t seem to believe that everything going on is real. She thinks she’s in some kind of dream and I don’t blame her. I witnessed just a glimpse of what that evil girl Daphne did to her and the rest of what she had been through in her hands was left for me to imagine.
No amount of words will ever wipe away the trauma my mate has been through. No amount of words would instantly restore her self confidence. That, I am aware of, but I also know that I can heal her wounds by treating her rightly. By constantly assuring her with not only words, but with actions that everything has changed for the better.
Her healing journey is going to start when she wakes up from her slumber and finds herself in my bedroom, on my king sized bed which is surrounded by maids ready to serve her with anything and everything she needs. Then she will realize that this isn’t a dream. That this is all very true.
That she is my Queen.
My mate has settled in, the elders are now aware of the fact that I have found my mate and all plans of my dethronement have been set aside. Right now, there are two important things I have to do before anything else.
I have to instruct Lloyd to talk with an event planner on how to organize Alora’s welcome party and I have to talk with the girl I’ve been sleeping with all this while. I have to let her know our time together has come to an end.
Now that I’ve found my mate, she’s the only woman I want to have in my life.
When I go into my office, I meet her, Skye, the girl I’ve been having sexual relations with for the past five years, sitting on the sofa in the sitting area, waiting for me. I summoned her a while ago so we could talk.
“Skye.” I call as I walk over to her. She rises to her feet, beaming at me. Skye is a very beautiful girl. She’s five feet four, slender and has tanned skin which I think is very beautiful. Her brunette hair is something I love touching. It’s always well kept and smells really nice. She flashes me a smile which I expect to disappear the moment I tell her what’s in my mind.
“Sweetest. You always call me sweetest.” She is still beaming as she attempts to correct me.
It wasn’t a mistake.
I called her Skye today on purpose. That’s how I’ll address her from now on. I clear my throat and fix my gaze on her.
“I’m well aware of that. However, I will address you as Skye from now on.” I decipher with a firm and formal tone. She senses there’s something wrong. She takes a step closer to me. Her brows are creased. There is an unsure look on her face.
“Formal language.” She points out yet again.
This is frustrating.
“Why are you using such a formal tone with me? Skye? Address? From now on?” She chuckles. “You even have both your hands behind your back. Is everything alright?”
“Everything is perfectly fine, Skye.” She lets out a heavy sigh of exasperation.
“I don’t know what’s going on, but I hope it gets settled soon. I’ve been trying to reach you all morning. You said you’d call me in last night so we could spend the night together but you didn’t. You’ve been distant Alpha Jayce.”
“I’ve been busy.” I say curtly. She nods.
“That’s understandable.” She purses her lips and looks up at me with worried filled eyes.
I have to cut her off. This is the right thing for me to do, but it’s not very easy as well. Don’t get me wrong, I have no iota of feelings for Skye. I kept her around only for my sexual needs. My heart belongs to Alora and Alora alone and my body as well from now on. Nonetheless, I feel terrible cutting Skye off like this. She is going to be heartbroken especially after noticing that she is deeply in love with me.
“So… have you settled everything now? Are you going to call me over this evening?”
“That’s why I summoned you. There’s something you have to know.” Tension rises between us. Skye’s eyes scan my face for any hint of what I’m about to say, but she knows she’s not going to get anything. She is getting uncomfortable. She definitely knows what I’m about to say wouldn’t favor her.
“What’s that?” She asks with searching eyes. I swallow hard and train my eyes on her face.
“I’ve found my mate.”
“What?” Her voice is no more than a whisper.
“I believe you heard me clearly.”
“But… how?”
“What do you mean, how? I found my mate like I’m supposed to.”
“I understand… I… I’m just really surprised. When did that happen?”
“I don’t think it’s any of your business, Skye. I’m only telling you this out of respect for you. For all you’ve done for me. I’m really grateful for the time you’ve been serving me, but it stops now. I can’t do this with you anymore.” Skye chuckles.
“Serve you?” She asks in disbelief. “I wasn’t just serving you. We had a great time together. You enjoyed spending time with me. You loved every moment of what we had. Why are you talking like this?” Her voice breaks in half. Her eyes turn watery. I knew this was going to happen.
There was no warning. No sign of me finding my mate soon, I would’ve prepared her more.
“Don’t act like you didn’t know this day was going to come, Skye. Before this thing between us started five years ago, I told you we’d have to stop the moment I found my mate. You agreed to that. Didn’t you?”
“But I…”
“Did you or did you not?” I immediately cut her off. Her head drops and tears come out of her eyes to her dress.
“I did.”
“Good. Now is the time for us to stop. It’s not a debate. No more coming to my Chambers at night. No more informal language with me. From now on, I am your Alpha and nothing else. Is that understood?” She nods and violent sob escapes her lips.
“Yes, Alpha.”
“That will be all. You can leave.” She immediately bursts into tears and scurries out of my office.
I don’t feel sorry for her. There’s no need to be. I’m sure she knew this day was going to come.
Alora has already had a difficult life and I do not intend to hurt her even in the slightest manner. I belong to her alone. From now on, my entire being belongs to her alone.
