Callie tried to pull her leg back, but his large hand caught her. It seemed to be a business call, and he didn’t avoid her, letting her eavesdrop. Occasionally, he responded with a few words, sparingly.
Callie looked at the man beside her. His exuded elegance with his every move.
Her heart raced, and a bold idea suddenly popped into her mind. Her heart pounded fiercely as she took a deep breath and inched forward. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed his lips!
There was a “bang” as if something exploded in the air. The man stiffened slightly.
He still held the phone in one hand, and a familiar female voice came through. Not hearing Nelson’s voice for a while, she grew anxious, “Hello? Hello? Mr. Oconnor? Are you okay?”
He pulled her into his arms with such force it seemed he wanted to become one with her.
“Mr. Oconnor? Are you still there? Is the signal bad?”
Callie couldn’t help but laugh.
Sensing her distraction, Nelson pulled back slightly, his lips slightly red. He said to the person on the other end of the line, “I’ll handle this later.”
He quickly hung up the phone and tossed it aside.
Looking at her, his grape-like eyes sparkled as if soaked in water.
He suddenly lowered his head and kissed her again.
After an unknown amount of time, Callie collapsed in his arms, hearing his slightly hoarse and alluring voice, “Still poor at kissing.”
Callie panted, “No one practices this with me. If I got better, wouldn’t you kill me?”
Nelson’s lips curved up, his good mood returning quickly. He straightened up and lifted her onto his lap, “You’ve been drinking.”
“It’s for work. I only had a little… half a glass…”
“Whiskey, at least a full glass.” Nelson had a half smile. “Lying so skillfully now?”
Callie awkwardly changed the subject, “I suddenly remembered, do you have a hot spring here?”
Nelson stood up helplessly and carried her to the hot spring at the back. She looked around with wide eyes, “That’s soooo extravagant.”
Nelson tapped her nose, “Do you like it?”
“Yes.” She shrank back, trying to avoid him as he made her itch.
He caught her and breathed heavily, “Then stay.”
Mikayla’s voice came from outside, “Mr. Oconnor, we should go.”
Nelson didn’t rush to get up. He selected some herbal packets from the counter, all beneficial for women, and tossed them into the hot spring one by one. After finishing, he reminded her, “Wait here for me; we’ll go home together.”
Callie nodded obediently, “Okay.”
The hot spring was indeed comfortable. She took off her outer clothes and sat in the pool. Hearing the sounds outside fade away into silence.
Perhaps it was too warm; she felt drowsy and dozed off on the edge of the pool. The sound of the door opening woke her up. She frowned; had Nelson come back?
Footsteps approached lightly from outside.
Callie instinctively called out, “Nelson, is that you?”
The footsteps paused outside and then slowly approached.
No one responded. Callie’s heart pounded as she clutched her chest and looked towards the door. A familiar figure came into view.
She frowned deeply in disbelief, “How could it be you?”
