**That same day**
While I was on a date with Nicholas, I heard my phone ringing. Since it was on the table, Nicholas could easily see who was calling. I noticed how a deep frown appeared on his face when he glanced at my phone.
“You still haven’t deleted this number?” He asked, making me wonder who was calling. I picked up my phone, only to see Andrew’s name flashing on the screen.
I thought I had blocked him as he stopped calling me since Nicholas dealt with him at the mall that day. I didn’t want to answer the call as it didn’t seem important to me so I muted it and turned it over.
“Why didn’t you answer the call?” Nicholas asked.
“I didn’t want to ruin the moment.” I answered and gave him a small smile. He smiled back and we continued eating.
Few seconds later, I could still feel my phone vibrating on the table. It got to the extent that Nicholas angrily picked the call. I knew hell was about to break loose but surprisingly, he held a calm gaze and listened to what Andrew had to say before ending the call.
“What did he say?” I asked curiously since he didn’t want to talk at first.
“Andrew is in police custody right now.” Nicholas answered.
“Really?” I asked unbothered since he and Amara were supposed to be called upon for their hearing tomorrow.
“Yes, for murdering Amara.” He added making me put down my cutlery in shock.
“What!?!”

We both ended the date right there and went to the hospital Amara was taken to. We were led to the hospital’s mortuary and we were shown her lifeless body by the coroner.
I covered my mouth with my hand, holding back a loud gasp when I saw the numerous bruise-like marks on her body like someone had severely beaten her to death after the white cover had been removed from her body.
“What was the cause of her death?” I asked even though it’s quite obvious what killed her.
“She was physically assaulted. It was so severe that even the child in her belly was also killed. It seemed like the assaulter’s intention was to murder the unborn baby because there are multiple hits on her stoma…”
The rest of the coroner’s words were muted in my head as the only thing I heard was that she was pregnant. She was actually pregnant!! But I know it wasn’t dad’s child.
Because of her greed and wrong choice in men, she had killed herself and her baby. I thought Andrew loved her. I know he cheated on her on several occasions but in my past life, he never failed to show his undying love for her.
What changed? I never knew she would be the one to take my fate. I never wanted her to die yet. I wanted her to live and suffer for all the pains she caused me and dad. I wanted her to spend the rest of her life locked up as a criminal.
She took the easy way out and Andrew helped her unknowingly. Too bad he doesn’t have an associate to spend prison time with now.
?
After a few minutes of waiting in the station’s waiting room with Nicholas, a policeman brought out Andrew as per our request. I stared at the haggard looking Andrew in disgust.
It’s only been day and he’s already looking miserable. It seemed like they didn’t give him a new set of clothes as the ones he was putting on was covered in blood that I presumed to be Amara’s.
“You came for me.” He said with a wide smile when he saw me.
“You really did kill Amara.” I muttered, ignoring his happy look as I stared at the blood all over his clothes.
“It was all for you. I did it for you.” He answered making me scoff.
“I thought you told them that it was a mistake?” I asked.

**Earlier that day**
After Andrew noticed something was wrong with Amara, he fled the scene in fear. When he realised he had ran really far from his house, he stopped to catch his breath.
“What have I done?” He asked himself as he rubbed his face in frustration. He had wanted to just kill the baby so she wouldn’t pin it on him. He never knew it would get this far.
“Is she dead?” He asked himself again, silently. He thought of not to going back to the house for a while when he realised that her body was still in his house. What if someone enters and find it?
Or what if she manages to crawl out and calls for help? He didn’t even lock his door. In fear, he rushed back to his neighborhood, while ignoring the weird stares he was getting from people around, not knowing it was because he was covered in the evidence of his assault on Amara.
He was a few steps away from his house when he saw police vehicles and an ambulance at the front of his house. Knowing he had been caught, he wanted to make a run for it when one of his neighbors who recognized him alerted the police. He didn’t run really far before he was caught and apprehended.

“I thought you told them that it was a mistake?” I asked him.
“It was. She planned to tell your father about the baby and I knew that would threaten your stance in the company. I only planned to kill the child, I never knew she would actually die. Please help me..” He pleaded with a guilty expression on his face.
I stared at him silently before bursting out into laughter; “You want to me to believe that you didn’t know the child is yours?” I asked, admist my laughter.
He stared at me with shock written all over his face. “What? How did you know?”
“If it was actually my father’s child, isn’t that a good scheme to get back into the family? You really thought I would fall for your stupid act?” I asked him and his face turned ashen as a wave of panic hit him.
“I didn’t kill her!! You can’t prove anything!!” He shouted out in anger.
“Don’t jump into conclusion just yet.” Nicholas muttered as he waved the recording on his phone of him confessing to his crimes just now at his face.
Seeing that he had fallen right into our trap, I saw pure fear in his eyes but it was quickly replaced with a dark and bloodlust look.
“You scheming bitch.” He cussed out as he stood up from his seat and tried to attack me but Nicholas was faster. He easily pinned him on the table, making it hard for him to move.
He only let him go when the policemen came in to take him away. As he was led back to his cell, he kept screaming about how he would make me suffer for what I did.
I knew it was impossible because I had enough evidence to keep him locked up forever.

**The next day**
It was finally the hearing I’ve been waiting for, except that this time, the defendant had more charges against him and no more associate. Due to the severity of Andrew’s actions, the trial was broadcasted live online.
As expected, Andrew still tried to argue and deny the charges made against him, but I made sure to present all the evidences, including his and Amara’s plot to kill me and my father to seize the company’s assets.
Andrew eventually confessed when he saw he had no where else to run to or hide, and the judge sentenced him to life imprisonment.
