Even though I was glad that Andrew was leaving, I was still paranoid about the fact that he managed to bag such a huge deal so easily. This didn’t happen in my past life so I don’t even know the details.
If things goes well for him, he would gain my father’s favor and automatically be a real member of this family. I can’t let that happen if I want my plan to succeed.
I need to investigate the investor, just to be sure. I picked up my phone and was about to inquire from my secretary since Andrew and I were in the same department when I received a call from Nicholas.
I smiled happily when I saw his name flashing on the screen. I guess he had arrived safely. I picked the call and we exchanged greetings. He inquired about my health and if I had gone back home safely and I answered.
I moved to tell him about the deal Andrew had made amd my fears but he only chuckled softly. I wonder why he was laughing when I was being paranoid. He explained to me that he made that deal happen.
He needed to get Andrew away from me since he wouldn’t be around for a while. The deal was just a waste of time and nothing was going to happen. Hearing that, I couldn’t help but feel relaxed. He made things much easier for me without even knowing.
We talked more on the next step to take and something crossed my mind. A good plan and could frustrate Andrew and leave him with nothing. Nicholas listened attentively as I poured out all my plans to him. A fake deal was just the icing of the cake. More are yet to come.
The next day
I acted like I was asleep when Andrew cane to knock on my door, informing me that he was already leaving. When he figured that I wasn’t going to answer him, he muttered a goodbye before he left.
I watched through my window as Amara bid Andrew goodbye. From afar, one would think it was normal between two peope that are about to loose contact with each other for a while.
When they thought no one was watching, Andrew pulled Amara closer to him and pressed a deep kiss on her lips. After that, they pulled away and acted like nothing happened.
I scoffed and moved away from the window before they would catch me watching them. Andrew, get ready to face the worse days of your life.
**A few days later**
Andrew sighed impatiently as he checked his wristwatch for the fifth time. Currently, he was at a very popular restaurant in Miami and was waiting for his contactor but there was no sign of him yet.
It’s been more than thirty minutes and Andrew was getting really impatient but there was nothing he could do. His investor was a famous rich businessman and getting this deal from him would make him hit the jackpot but he was still yet to show up.
Ever since the day he got to Miami, it had been one problem to another. His trip wasn’t that great like he had expected but he didn’t mind. When he got here, it was even worse than he imagined.
He had expected a very warm welcome since his client was rumored to be a very rich man but he got the opposite. He was booked for a brothel looking hotel for him to stay in.
For almost a week, he could hardly get in touch with his client. Whenever they do talk, the man always claimed to be busy so they couldn’t talk about the contract.
It made Andrew really angry but what could he do? Today, the man’s secretary finally reached out to him so they could talk about the contract. Andrew happily agreed to book the restaurant they would use.
He went out of his way to book the most expensive one in Miami. He figured that the deal he would get would pay him more than he was supposed to spend at the restaurant. Now, he’s been waiting for minutes for his client to show up.
He wanted to call but he decided not to so as not to seem desperate. After waiting for about ten more minutes, the door to the private room was opened and a young looking man entered.
Andrew stood up and was about to greet him when he noticed how he looked. His contractor, Clinton Rivera was a man that is in his late fifties. There’s no way he’s going to look this young.
“Good day Mr. Ellison. I’m Jerome, Mr. Rivera’s secretary.” The man said as he bowed a little as a sign of respect. Andrew smiled happily and bowed back in return.
“You’re finally here but humm.. Where’s Mr. Rivera? I can’t negotiate with his secretary.” Andrew asked as he looked behind to see if his contractor was with him.
“I’m sorry but Mr. Rivera couldn’t make it so he sent me on his behalf.”
“Okay.. it’s fine even if he isn’t here. At least I can pass my messages through you. Have a seat..” Andrew said and wanted to sit down but the secretary’s words made him stop dead on his tracks.
“I’m afraid but Mr. Rivera has decided to pull out of the deal.”
“What?!?!” Andrew muttered in shock.
“Now that I’ve passed that information, I’ll take my leave.” The secretary muttered with another bow before leaving a dumbstruck looking Andrew.
Andrew stood at his spot as he watched the secretary leave. He was too shocked to say anything or move. The secretary’s words kept resounding on his head like an echo.
When everything that had just happened finally registered to his brain, he got really mad and was about to chase after the secretary when a waiter walked up to him.
“You haven’t paid for what you ordered yet.” The waiter reminded.
Andrew tried to hide his irritation as he stared at the petite looking waiter. “How much is it?” He asked impatiently.
“Two hundred thousand dollars sir.” The waiter replied as she handed him the bill.
Andrew’s eyes bulged out when he stared at the things he had ordered. He wanted to make a good impression on his client and ordered the most expensive things in the restaurant. He never thought the deal wouldn’t go through. Begrudgingly, he took out his credit card and paid the bill.
“Thank you for your patronage sir. Feel free to visit again.” The water said with an innocent smile as she gave him back his card before she left.
Andrew stared at he departing figure with great anger. He wanted to say something but held himself back. He was in Miami, a place where he wasn’t really recognized so he couldn’t go about doing whatever he liked.
He put his card inside his wallet and left the restaurant in rage. He walked toward the busy street and was about to book a cab back to his hotel when someone suddenly bumped into him.
He turned angrily and was about to lash out at whoever it was but the person had already disappeared into the thick crowd. He kicked a can close to him angrily since there was no one for him to pour out his anger to.
He needed someone to talk to so he dipped his hand in his pocket im search of his phone so he could call Amara but was shocked when he couldn’t find his phone. He checked his other pockets only to find out that his wallet was also missing.
How did he loose something that was with him up to a few minutes ago?? He recalled how that stranger bumped into him. His face grew red in anger when he realized that he had just been robbed.
“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!!!” He screamed angrily as he threw his fists in the hair. His loud screams slowly turned to frustrated ones. His unusual action made him recieve a lot of glances from people around but he didn’t care.
He had just lost a multimillionaire deal and now, he was pickpocketed. How was he going to transoort back to the hotel let alone survive the rest of the trip? His day was getting worse by the passing second.
I laughed out as I watched the video Nicholas had sent to me. Andrew looked like a mad man as he kept screaming aloud in frustration. This is nothing but the beginning Andrew. Just the beginning….
