She’s changed

Book:Revenge On My Ex Husband Published:2024-11-19

After the call between Amara and Catherine had ended, Amara couldn’t hide it anymore. Her concerned and scared expression quickly changed into a very happy and fulfilled one.
She almost screamed out loud but composed herself when she saw some peaople passing by.
“Finally, I can ruin that bitch for good.” She said to herself as she released an evil smirk.
She went into the restroom where Catherine had told her she was. She called out Catherine’s name and checked all the stalls but she couldn’t find Catherine.
“Where could she be?” She asked herself angrily after the had ransacked all the stalls but still couldn’t find her.
She picked up her phone and wanted to dial Catherine’s number when she heard the door to the restroom. She checked to see if someone was entering, possibly Catherine but there was no one there.
“That’s weird.. but no one came in before.” She muttered and decided to check if Catherine left but found out she couldn’t open the door. It had been locked from the outside.
She banged on the door but no one answered. After banging on the door for about five minutes, she started to panic. She picked up her phone and called Andrew to come help her but he didn’t answer. She phoned Catherine and Matilda but no one picked their calls.
She gripped her hair in frustration; “What’s happening? Why’s no one answering??” She asked herself as she bit her nails anxiously.
She picked up her phone and was about to dial Andrew’s number again when the door to the restroom was suddenly opened from the outside.
“Who locked this door?” She queried the lady that walked in.
“I don’t know. I saw it pad locked from the outside.” The lady explained.
“Then how were you able to open it?” Amara asked again as she gave the lady a very suspicious look.
“The key was on the padlock.” The lady showed her the padlock before brushing past Amara and entering one of the stalls.
Amara stared at the door in deep thoughts. It was quite obvious that someone locked her in on purpose but why?? She suddenly recalled what she had planned with Andrew. Did someone find out what she was about to do?
Also, did the plan go through? She decided to go check it out. She was about to head to the room Matilda was supposed to be with Catherine when she got a phone call from Hector. She wanted to ignore it but Hector called again.
“Hello my love.” She said sweetly as she tried to bury the nauseating feeling she was getting.
“Amara.. Where’s Catherine?” Hector asked, ignoring her greeting.
“I don’t know. What’s wrong?” She asked back with a small eye roll.
“Everything’s wrong. Get Andrew and come meet me in the hall!!” Hector ordered before ending the call.
Hearing the urgency in his voice, Amara smirked thinking Catherine had fallen into the trap she had set. She chuckled softly before heading back to the hall since she couldn’t find Andrew.
When she entered the hall, she noticed the guests in disarray and she saw Hector having a very serious conversation with some of the hotel’s workers.
She switched her happy expression into a worried one and scuttled to where he was. “I couldn’t find Andrew. What’s wrong?” She asked.
“Take a look at what that idiot is doing.” Hector answered angrily as he pointed towards the large monitor in the hall.
Amara turned on her heels and was shocked to see Andrew and Matilda in each other’s arms, fucking like that would be the last time they would get to do it.
“What the hell!!” She cussed out loud. What was Andrew doing in there? Why was he there instead of Catherine??
“Turn it off!!” She ordered.
“That’s what we are try to do madam but someone got a hold of the remote used to control the monitor before we could.” One of the workers replied.
“Is it Catherine??” Amara asked herself.
“Well try something else. Just shut it off before Catherine sees it.” Hector said in frustration.
“Too late..” One of the workers said as he pointed at someone. Hector turned around only to see Catherine staring at the monitor with pure pain and betrayal engraved on her face.

Nicholas smiled when he noticed the change of expression on Catherine’s face as he moved closer to her. He got impossibly close to her to the extent that they were already breathing in the same air.
Her body trembled as his hot breath fanned her smooth and pale like face. He moved his face to her side and she shook softly when his breath hit her neck.
“Dance with me.” He whispered.
“What??” Catherine said in shock as she moved away from him. His voice had brought her out of her dream world. Nicholas almost laughed out when he saw the disappointment on her face.
“Why? What were you thinking about??” He asked. Knowing she had been caught red handed, she couldn’t help the blush that crept up her cheek.
“Nothing.” She muttered as she moved her face away in embarrassment. Nicholas smiled and turned her to face him. He couldn’t help but notice how much she had changed from the person she used to be.
She was more matured now and she didn’t pick any fight with him. Even now that he had his hands on her, she didn’t push him away. She has changed a lot. He had to admit, he loved this side of her more, her innocent side.
“Will you dance with me?” He asked again, this time in a very soft tone. She stared at him silently for a short while before nodding.
“Sure. I have to pay you back for the help you’ve rendered.” She answered.
“Good. I’ll be waiting.” He said as he stood up from the chair.
“Seems like your step mother has finally escaped.” He said as he stared at the laptop.
Catherine turned towards her laptop and saw Amara heading towards the hall with a huge smirk playing on her lips.
“Why is she so happy?” Catherine asked herself.
“Don’t you want to watch what will happy next?” Nicholas asked, bring her out of her train of thoughts.
With a wide smile displaying on her lips; “I can’t miss it for anything.” She said before leaving the room with Nicholas.
