He really was a faithful man. But the more faithful, the harder it is to move on. Fortunately, he now had his own new life, and was married, whether it was arranged by his family or not, he had his own home. Rosalind, seeing a bench up ahead and feeling tired, walked over and sat down. She took out her phone to check it-aside from a greeting message from Lion, there was one from the Wayer City cab driver.
Wayer City cab driver: [Have you arrived in Jingtown?]
[Yes, are you in Jingtown too? I’ve brought the invoice with me, if it’s convenient we can meet in Jingtown, and I’ll give it to you.]
It took a while before he replied.
Wayer City cab driver: [I’m not in Jingtown.]
Rosalind wanted to type a reply, but having just cried, her contact lenses felt uncomfortable, so she took them out, making the screen look blurry. Thus, she sent a voice message instead.
“Then let me know when it’s convenient for you to pick it up, or I can also send it via courier.”
The reply came quickly this time.
Wayer City cab driver: [Have you been crying?]
Rosalind paused, realizing her voice must have given her away.
“Um… just a little heartache.”
Wayer City cab driver: [Did someone hurt you?]
“No, it’s just sentimentality! Thanks for caring.”
After sending this message and waiting a bit without a reply, Rosalind put away her phone and continued walking.
Meanwhile, at W Group.
Ulric stood up from behind his desk and strode toward the door.
His assistant, surprised, asked, “Mr. Walters, are you going to a meeting? The meeting doesn’t start for another hour.”
“Cancel it, I’m going to Jingtown for a few days.”
The assistant quickly checked his schedule.
“Mr. Walters, Cedric arranged your flight to Jingtown for tonight before he left on his business trip.”
He was scheduled for some regular meetings and a project briefing on Monday, so Cedric had booked an evening flight.
“Change it to the earliest flight; I need to go now.”
“…Okay, Mr. Walters.”

Rosalind had returned to her hotel before she replied to Lion.
Before she could finish typing, he called her.
“How come you didn’t tell me when you landed? I was so worried, I almost bought a ticket to follow you!”
“…I had a lot to take care of after arriving, then I grabbed some food.”
Rosalind checked the time.
“The assistant from the company will arrive in Jingtown soon, we’ll meet, and start the due diligence work tomorrow.”
“I’m not here to rush you!” Lion realized something was off.
“Wait, have you been crying?”
Rosalind slightly frowned, “No, it might be a bit of a cold.”
She didn’t want to explain to Lion, nor be interrogated by him.
“Then you should get that checked out! Work can wait, a few days’ delay won’t affect the progress.”
“Boss, didn’t you say last time? The project isn’t just our company’s, there are investors involved, we can’t afford delays.”
“…” Lion bit his tongue, what else could he say? “I’m just concerned about you.”
“I’m not a child anymore, I’m fine, thanks boss.”
After a pause, Lion spoke again, “I’ll handle my matters and see how many days it will take; if it’s soon, I’ll also go to Jingtown!”
Rosalind immediately asked, “What for?”
“To work! Just for work! Don’t overthink it.”
