Cedric laughed.
With composure and propriety, he said, “Reynolds, I am Mr. Walters’ man.”
As for whether he belonged to Rosalind, that depended on Mr. Walters’ wishes! If Rosalind was Mr. Walters’ person, then he too would be considered Mr. Walters’ man.
As for Reynolds, she certainly had no chance of being Mr. Walters’ person.
Frowning, Sirena’s recent ordeals since returning to the country made her increasingly impatient.
Especially when dealing with a tough nut like Cedric!
“Are you so sure that Ulric will never marry me? The chairman’s wife has long decided I’m to be her daughter-in-law. Cedric, I advise you to think about your future sooner rather than later, don’t be shortsighted and regret it later.”
Cedric feigned a serious and obedient demeanor, nodding, “Thanks for the reminder.”
“…”
“Anything else? I’m in a hurry to return to the office to deliver documents to Mr. Walters.”
With work brought up, Sirena could not keep him any longer without risking delays to important tasks.
Sirena’s mouth twitched a few times, “Alright, Cedric, you’re something.”
“Thanks for the compliment.”
The elevator stopped, the doors opened, and Cedric stepped out unruffled, not even looking back.
For now, at least, the company was still Mr. Walters’, not hers, Sirena’s.
If one day it became her, Sirena’s, company, Cedric thought, he might as well resign and move on.
He had been the CEO’s secretary for many years, his experience honed at W Group, and many companies were eager to hire him at a high salary. Why would he worry about not having a job?
Ridiculous!
…
Rosalind had nearly finished delegating her work for the Wayer City project.
She did not know how many days it would take to complete her tasks in Jingtown, so she had stayed up several nights in a row, making thorough preparations and plans, particularly since Lion had said the other party was cunning. If she wasn’t careful in her research, a major blunder could emerge at any time, potentially disastrous for the entire company.
The night before her trip, she video-called Floyd, then transferred some money to Tilda.
It was already a lot to ask someone to care for her child; she couldn’t expect to also use their money for it!
“Do we have to make it so formal between sisters?” Tilda protested.
“You know I’ve always been this way; don’t make it hard for me.”
“Ah!”
Tilda sighed but accepted the money, “Then be careful in Jingtown, and don’t run into any trouble! Remember, look before you leap. Your job is important, but so are your health and your life!”
Rosalind was amused by her.
Knowing how Tilda was like a startled bird, afraid she might end up in some trouble that would send her to the hospital.
“Don’t worry! The ones who hit have paid the price.”
“My brother wanted to fly back from abroad to help you beat them up when he found out!”
“Don’t,” Rosalind quickly said, “Don’t tell him about my issues, it’s enough trouble already.”
Tilda snorted, “You always say ‘trouble’ this, ‘trouble’ that. Sometimes I really wonder if you even consider me family! Isn’t family supposed to help each other?”
“Of course, you are my family now.”
She wasn’t going to acknowledge Kennard as her family.
She didn’t want to be an orphan.
“That’s good then, get some rest, your flight’s at noon tomorrow?”
“Yes, at 12 p. m., good night, and you guys should also go to bed early.”
