After all, as a “driver master,” what could he possibly have in common with Rosalind to discuss? He felt that if he tried to force a conversation, given Rosalind’s personality, she would likely delete him again. She didn’t like people suddenly getting close. Ulric knew this very well. He also knew how quickly Rosalind could cut people off.
Knock-knock-
Suddenly, there was a knock on the office door. Ulric’s gaze shifted from his phone screen. “Come in.”
The door opened, revealing Cedric. “Mr. Walters, I am about to head to Wayer City.” He wanted to ask if he should book a ticket for him as well, but he dared not say it outright.
“Uh-huh.” Ulric merely grunted and continued to read his documents.
Seeing his reaction, Cedric figured that Ulric did not plan to accompany him to Wayer City, so he placed the project proposal he was holding on the desk and turned to leave. Just as he reached the door, Ulric called out to him!
“Book me a ticket for next Monday.” “To Wayer City?” Ulric looked up at him, frowning. “To Jingtown.”
“Ah?” Cedric was increasingly puzzled by Mr. Walters…
He left the president’s office and took the elevator. When it reached the fifteenth floor, the doors opened to reveal Sirena, dressed in a sheath dress and high heels, gracefully stepping inside. Seeing Cedric, she smiled. “Lawyer Reynolds.” “Hmm.” Sirena seemed not interested in small talk, just standing ahead.
Cedric breathed a sigh of relief as the elevator emptied, leaving just him and Sirena. He didn’t want to be alone with Sirena, mainly for fear she might ask about Mr. Walters, so he moved forward, planning to take the stairs for exercise as soon as he got off on the next floor. Before his hand could touch the elevator button, Sirena spoke first.
“Cedric, are you nervous?” “Lawyer Reynolds jests, why would I be nervous.”
“Are you afraid I’ll ask who Ulric is marrying?” Sirena turned to look at him, her red lips curving slightly. “Don’t worry, that’s not what I want to know.”
Cedric shrugged, indicating he didn’t follow her meaning. “I want to know if Ulric has been in touch with Rosalind again?” Sirena’s eyes locked onto Cedric’s face, as if trying to catch any slight expression.
“As for Mr. Walters’ affairs, how would I know?” Cedric was a seasoned player in the corporate game, naturally not falling for her trap. A simple ‘I don’t know’ sufficed for anything.
If Mr. Walters wanted to tell Lawyer Reynolds, then she wouldn’t need to ask him. And if Mr. Walters didn’t want Lawyer Reynolds to know, and he told her, then would there still be a place for him at W Group?
“You’ve been by Ulric’s side the longest, his most capable assistant! So you must know how deeply that woman Rosalind hurt him! He could marry someone else, and I wouldn’t interfere, but not Rosalind.”
Every word from Sirena seemed considerate of Ulric, but to an uninformed observer, she could easily deceive. But who was Cedric? He had witnessed Sirena’s schemes against Rosalind.
“Mr. Walters has been very busy with work lately, probably not having much time to think about these matters. Lawyer Reynolds parachuted into W Group, isn’t it because there are so many projects, coming to help Mr. Walters?”
Sirena, getting nothing out of him, became somewhat anxious. “Cedric, I know you are Rosalind’s man!”
