The roar was like that of a wild beast breaking free from its cage, carrying a force powerful enough to destroy everything in its path.
What on earth was that? A devil from the underworld? The sound seemed to rise from the depths below. It had to be-this was the sound of a devil from hell!
So, there had been a fiend or something imprisoned under the Scott Mansion all along?
Another ferocious bellow resounded!
This time, every member of the Scott family felt an unsettling jolt!
With that second roar, the entire mansion seemed to quake as though struck by an earthquake. People stumbled, scrambling to keep their balance as the tremors rippled through. Guards and family members alike wavered. Many of them were on the verge of falling down and had to clutch onto anything to steady themselves.
It was as if a colossal beast had finally stirred from an age-old slumber!
Could it be him?
Could it be that he was actually awakening?
Gosh, someone had really managed to wake up this legendary figure!
“It’s him! He’s awakened! This is no legend-Asad, the Divine Guardian of the Scott family really exists!”
Someone cried out in a voice brimming with excitement. He nearly wanted to leap in exhilaration.
As soon as he said it, the tension lifted, and everyone breathed easier. At least someone seemed to know who Asad was! Whatever he was, it was fine as long as he was not a devil or ghost!
“Asad… who exactly is he? Is he… human?” a girl asked, bewildered.
Asad was the Divine Guardian of the Scott family. He had always existed like a legend in the hearts of the Scott family. For years, tales had been told that beneath the Scott Mansion lived a Divine Guardian safeguarding them through the ages, though no one had ever truly seen him.
They had only ever known him as the guardian of the family-a mystical protector who would never appear unless the family faced the gravest of threats.
For years, they had dismissed it as a comforting tale spun by their ancestors to reassure their descendants. But now, here they were, about to witness Asad’s awakening!
A third deafening roar tore through the air, and the entire mansion shook violently, as though the ground itself was ready to split open. The ground heaved beneath their feet. What the hell, was Asad about to level the whole place in his raw power?!
Such force was unbelievable! Unstoppable! Utterly overwhelming!
What kind of creature was he on earth? How could he have lain dormant beneath the grounds for so long, only to wake up now with such terrifying strength? It was as if he were undying and eternal. Was he a mummy?
Kayden’s eyes narrowed as he locked onto the source of the noise. He was instantly on guard.
Just beneath the eastern building, the ground was bulging upward, pushed by some hidden power. Cracks rippled outward like spider webs, and the ground began to shake, trembling as if in the throes of an earthquake!
It was here-he was about to come out!
The Scott family held their breath and stared intently at the spot shaking most violently, the eastern building.
With a thunderous bang, the entire building crumbled under the force! Yeah, it crumbled! The towering structure, majestic in its stance, now shattered and fell beneath the unstoppable pressure.
Kayden moved a step, his body leaning gently to one side. “So, you’re finally coming?” he murmured.
Kayden kept releasing his menacing aura as if trying to draw that thing out on purpose!
A savage roar rose from below, swelling louder and fiercer, accompanied by a force that seemed ready to tear the world asunder!
After a relentless minute, the ground gave a violent tremor, then shattered open with an earth-shaking blast!
Such a mighty crash!
With that crash, a commanding figure burst forth from the depths.
In that instant, many members of the Scott family blanched in terror.
“What…what is that? Did it just claw its way out of hell? Is it the demon?”
The men of the Scott family held their ground, but the women couldn’t hide their fear; they were untrained and utterly no different from the ordinary, after all.
Before them stood an old man, his hair silver, his face rugged with coarse bristles. He was bare-chested and dressed only in a pair of dusty black pants. But as their eyes traveled down, they noticed a rusty iron chain bound to his bare feet.
Years spent underground have covered him in mud, but it does nothing to diminish his imposing presence and charisma.
Standing proudly on the ground, he swept his gaze across, as if surveying everything in his path. With just one look, it seemed he could conquer the entire world!
Perhaps from ages spent in darkness, his eyes held no whites but only pupils, giving him an utterly scary appearance!
Then, as he lightly shook his massive body, he sent clouds of dust billowing in the air.
His face was hidden in shadow, but an overwhelming, terrifying energy radiated from him, making them feel hard to breathe. He was over two meters tall, and his body was pure muscle from chest to feet, which made him look like an impenetrable wall of steel. The very sight of him was enough to inspire dread.
“Father, is that our family’s Divine Guardian?” Conrad asked, his voice edged with shock.
Jason didn’t respond. Actually, shock choked his words. His eyes were wide, filled with disbelief and awe. The tale was real-the legendary Guardian of the Scott family actually stood before them! Asad really existed!
He had thought Asad was just a legend, a white lie from the ancestors. Jason had never imagined that one day he could see Asad with his own eyes.
Jason was completely stunned by the sight before him; such a transcendent being like Asad was beyond his comprehension.
He had underestimated Kayden’s resolve for vengeance and overlooked the depth of his hatred for the Scott family. According to their ancestors’ instruction, unless their family reached the edge of ruin, Asad was never to be awakened!
But Asad was here now. It clearly meant that Kayden intended to destroy the Scott family with no mercy!
“Brat!” Asad suddenly called out to Kayden, each syllable pressing down like an immovable force on anyone who heard it. It was like even Kayden, the War God of Seclela, could only stand before him waiting to be defeated.
He was mighty, incomprehensibly mighty! His every movement, every word, radiated an aura of raw, ancient strength.
This was the kind of power that didn’t require a punch to be felt-just his presence alone brought people the same pressure of carrying a mountain on their shoulders.
“Do you mean to bring ruin to the Scott family?” Asad asked, lifting his hand as his fingers slowly clenched. A long, shimmering sword appeared in his grasp. It’s totally conjured from thin air!
It was a breathtakingly supernatural feat; he had the ability to summon a sword from nothing. He was surely the mightiest Hermit.
With Asad’s arrival, everyone in the Scott family exhaled in relief; they knew their crisis had come to an end. Unlike Kayden, Asad didn’t need to stir up wind or thunder to showcase his strength. His every move, each word, radiated an icy, overwhelming force that struck fear in all who witnessed it. With a single move, he could call forth his inner strength that was as crushing as a mountain!
However, Kayden stood unfazed. Instead, he let out a sharp, mocking laugh as he raised his arms and conjured two sharp blades from the air. His voice, laced with defiance, rang out, “Yes!”
He’s the War God of Seclela, the Defender of the South! Would he fear this “whatever-he-might-be” person?
Absolutely not!
In his eyes, the mortals were no more than an insect. As long as this man was still mortal, he had no fear. No figure was too enigmatic, no strength too formidable. Even the likes of Asad couldn’t make a dent in his confidence.
“If you think you can play the role of their savior, then step up! I’d be more than happy to kill you right now and plunge them all into despair!” said Kayden as he raised his head defiantly, pride blazing in his gaze.
He’s tough as well! Even with just a fraction of his power left, he’s never forgotten the pride he takes in his strength.
Asad let out a sneer, then took a deliberate step toward Kayden. With that single step, the ground seemed to shake, his raw energy spilling out like it could hardly be contained.
“Then be ready to pay the price for your stupid pride!” Asad roared, his voice like rolling thunder.
It felt as though a legendary battle was about to ignite right then and there!
