He was asking for a promise from her.
He was more afraid of something happening to her than anyone else, just like last night, when she was just a momentary slip of the tongue and he called a press conference to announce that he shared her fate regardless.
Paige watched as he tightened his grip and slowly knelt down in front of him, her chin resting on his knee as she gazed up into his dark eyes, “Enrico.”
“Hmm?” Enrico stared at her.
“After this man-made disaster with the Ferris wheel virus, I don’t have as much impulse as I used to.”
It was actually particularly exhausting to deal with doing anything that could be perceived as having ulterior motives or selling out, over and over again.
The corners of Paige’s lips curved slightly, “When this incident is resolved, and when everyone on Wind Island settles down, let’s hand over the matters at hand to those who are capable, and take Gabriel with us into anonymity, shall we?”
The cool moonlight swept over Enrico’s angular face, his eyes stared fixedly at her, repeating her words, “Incognito?”
“We’ve got money on our hands, so even if we don’t have to work we can get away with it for the rest of our lives, can’t we?” Paige tilted her face up at him.
“Where did we … get the word guys from?” Enrico gave a low laugh in mockery, “Mrs. Gustin, you even sold the dowry you promised me.”
It seemed like he was the only one with money in the present situation.
She ate and drank from him, and she had the nerve to say “we”?
Hearing this, Paige was a little helpless, “Temple in Heaven I’ll set up again, I mean after the dust settles, will you?”
Enrico sits there and reaches out to pinch her chin and lift it up, “You’re asking the biggest plutocrat in A to follow you around idly now, do you think I’m willing?”
“I knew you’d agree.” Paige grinned.
“…”
Hmm?
Does that mean he agrees?
“So I won’t let anything happen to me for the sake of the life I aspire to in the future, you can trust me.” Paige stood up and grabbed his hand in passing, “Come on, get to bed.”
“You women are learning to talk to yourself now.”
When had he agreed to that?
He’d worked so hard to get to where he was today and told him to give it up?
“I call that snagging.” Paige took his hand into heading inside.
“You’re pushing it, even for my Enrico’s master, Mrs. Gustin, can’t you see the fact that you’re a pauper now?”
Enrico grunted coldly, but his legs stepped in after her rather self-consciously, his thin lips curving in triumph.
Heh.
What Wind Island, what A country, she had the idea of going incognito with him, proving that she wanted nothing else, and that he was the most important thing.
Never mind, the woman was poor but loved him, so he reluctantly agreed.
“Mr. Gustin, if you really think I’m so poor, then the incognito thing is postponed for a while, I will definitely earn enough money before … well.”
Before Paige could finish her sentence, her lips were sealed.
Enrico kissed her lips and pushed her down onto the bed, Paige’s entire body sinking into the soft covers.
The man’s long five fingers clasped her hand and slowly pressed upward, feeling for the remote control.
The light veil in the doorway closed automatically, floating in the shadow of the trees and moonlight.
…
The next day, Paige asked Beau to arrange for all the staff to take a paid vacation and to stop all the equipment that cost money.
After explaining, Paige hurriedly left the house.
A day of non-stop hustle and bustle to track down the truth behind the Ferris Wheel Virus man-made disaster.
The group of people who had caused trouble at the Reynolds family’s company before had captured a leader, who was put in Gangnam Hall for half a day of interrogation, and was finally found to be nothing more than a minor character.
This person also found the Ferris Wheel black site, followed the ideas provided on it, and silently killed an enemy, and then was blackmailed by the site to go to a designated location, get guns and weapons and create a riot.
On the new day, there were multiple riots in various parts of the country using weapons all made by THE FOLSOM FAMILY.
The people who were caught were all used and controlled by the website, just like the Reynolds Family rioters and Alfredo.
Not many valuable clues were provided.
It all leads back to the black site, but the black site is not a good place to look.
At dusk, Paige returns to the estate, where a group of activists stand at the gate, trying to break up and create chaos.
Paige and her bodyguards had to work hard to arrest all of them and send them to the police station.
The chaos is too much of a distraction.
Moving off the property was imminent.
Paige walked across the alabaster bridge, wiping the blood on her hands with a towel as she walked, carefully observing herself to make sure there were no wounds before turning her head to look at her fellow bodyguards, “Villains are frequent under the chaos, and it is not known if there are any infected people amongst these radicals, so pay some attention to yourselves, and make sure to be fully equipped at normal times, with masks often worn, and those who have wounds on their bodies, even if it’s a small wound, don’t need to be be on duty anymore.”
When they moved out, this group of people would naturally not come back.
“Yes, Young Lady.” The bodyguards responded in unison.
“Good work.” Paige nodded at them and continued inside.
Nick came rushing out of the inside with his men and looked shocked when he saw blood splattered on Paige’s clothes.
“It’s okay, blood of the troublemakers.” Paige said in a calm and collected manner.
Hearing this, Nick breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Temple in Heaven’s property, I’ve pretty much dealt with it, and the people below can do the rest, so I can now follow you to investigate the truth.”
“Good.” Paige said as she walked inside, “I’m going to change my clothes first to get rid of the poison.”
She was now looking particularly hard at the defense and control around her, in addition to investigating the real culprits behind the scenes.
Standing up to those plutocrats, most of the public resentment had now shifted to them to make the number of infected public.
At this point in time, it wasn’t like she, Enrico and the Presidency were on the same page as them, and thinking of them with a sinister heart, they must have thought it would be nice to have The Gustin family’s villa infected as well.
Not to mention the fact that the real culprits behind the scenes are even more unpredictable in their evil minds.
Country A was like a pool of muddy water right now, with all sorts of dirty things jumping in.
So she had to be cautious and cautious again, not letting things get more and more messy.
Changing out of her going out clothes, Paige walked into the conference room.
Nick and several Temple in Heaven subordinates were already waiting there.
Paige threw a few small acrylic tags onto the conference table, her voice clear and cold, “This is from the hands of those riot initiators.”
Nick picked up one of them, an irregular hard sign less than the size of his hand, emblazoned with a Ferris Wheel of a pure black hue that sent shivers down his spine with more than a few glances.
“Ferris wheel, that’s what that black site is marked with.”
Nick slapped the table with some exasperation and said, “It’s a pity that this website is abroad and the address keeps changing, so we can’t investigate it in detail.”
“I do have some guesses.” Paige sat down at the conference table and glanced at Nick, “What was your first thought when you saw this?”
Nick grimaced, “What else could it be, a sick terrorist organization, even the logo is designed to be so sick.”
Ferris wheels were always colorful in amusement parks, and it turned out that this place was made all black.
