Chapter 671: If you really want something, give me peace and health

Book:The Psychotic Girl's Revenge Published:2024-11-18

Carrie’s hand held up the paper cup, puzzled for a split second she understood and was about to stop it when Rafael laughed softly and already spoke to Paige, “Of course it’s a few pieces of paper with my signature on it, give it back to me and save it from turning into a copy of the divorce papers that will be resting on my desk in the future.”
“…”
Paige was stunned and looked up at Carrie.
Carrie looked embarrassed and smiled at her.
“So, you’re in a state of divorce?” Enrico sat there looking at Rafael with a sneer.
“I tore up the agreement.” Rafael said through clenched teeth, his eyes glancing at Carrie.
Carrie lowered her eyes less naturally.
She really didn’t expect that Rafael, who was so angry at the time, would end up making a decision like that.
Enrico added nonchalantly, “It’s okay, seeing as how Peak Club is loyal to my woman, I’ll take a couple more autographs anytime I need them.”
“…”
Rafael’s face clouded over, his eyes extremely cold behind his lenses, clearly not taking the flirtation well.
Seeing this, Paige tapped Enrico’s leg, signaling with her eyes that he should keep his mouth shut, and smiled as she held her glass of water and said, “President Rafael, no matter what purpose you have for being on my side, I’m toasting you to this.”
Hearing this, Carrie was busy explaining, “Sister Paige, you said it before, everyone has their own position, I just don’t want my position to affect him.”
But her position remained the same.
Paige understands what Carrie is trying to say, she is trying to say that she is not pushing Rafael with the divorce.
But Rafael …
Paige looked up into Rafael’s somber pair of eyes, and I’m afraid it was obvious how much of a personal component there was in this decision.
“Cheers.”
She said without pointing it out, only raising her glass.
The four of them touched their glasses together, took a brief sip, and got back to business.
As they talked, an extra chicken leg appeared in Paige’s lunchbox.
She turned her eyes and Enrico looked down at her, “Haven’t had a good meal since last night, have some more.”
“I have enough.” Paige said.
“Not enough.” Enrico brooked no argument.
Paige had to take a bite of his chicken thigh, and Rafael sat across the table and watched, giving Carrie, who was sitting on the floor, a thoughtful look.
So there was this kind of play when there wasn’t much to eat.
His eyes twitched slightly as he picked up the still untouched chicken leg and before he could move, Carrie picked up her own and put it on Paige’s lunch box, “Sister Paige, I’ll take this one for you too, you’re sick, you need to get more nutrients.”
Carrie couldn’t see it, but Paige was sitting across from them, and took in Rafael’s look as he held the chicken leg, not knowing what to do, and not knowing what to say, she could only push back, “No need.”
“No, you’ve got a busy day ahead of you, make sure you take care of yourself.” Carrie looked at her seriously, “If you fall down, Temple in Heaven, Wind Island will be in chaos.”
With that said, Paige couldn’t afford to put it off any longer, and with a silent glance at Rafael, she went back to eating.
Four quick meals and three chicken thighs arrived in Paige’s lunchbox.
Rafael sullenly chucked the chicken drumsticks at her, “Paige, here, I’ll give you this one too.”
Saving him from looking out of place.
The chicken leg was stopped in mid-air by another pair of chopsticks.
Enrico sits on the couch and leans forward, one eye ghostly on Rafael, and out of his thin lips comes a graceful, “Get out.”
“…”
Rafael is silent.
Over the course of a dinner, the files on the computer screen changed and changed again, the serious business got deeper and deeper, and the fast food got a little bit colder and colder.

After dinner, Paige took a seat in the conference room of the tracking site before returning to her room.
The bedroom’s floor-to-ceiling glass doors to the terrace were open, and Enrico was sitting alone in the night air, working on a laptop in front of him.
Paige walked over and sat down across from him.
Enrico tapped the last key and raised his eyes to gaze at her.
“Two things.” Paige held up two fingers, “First, I just received word that another group of radicals are prowling outside the Consortium and this estate, supposedly abetted by one of the plutocrats again.”
Now that these plutocrats were taking care of themselves, they didn’t forget to continue to add to their troubles, annoying as hell.
Enrico’s eyes darkened.
“I can see you can’t stand it any longer either, you’ll definitely be fighting them next, and with the nature of some of them, they’ll use any dirty tricks they can get their hands on, so I think we’ll steer clear of going back to Rose Estate.”
Paige said in a soft voice.
It wasn’t that she was afraid of the plutocrats, but the reality of the situation was enough to keep her busy and she didn’t want to be on guard against some dark tactics day in and day out.
That place, Rose Estate, very few people knew about.
“It also saves a good chunk of the estate’s expenses to keep donating.” Enrico read her mind at a glance.
“There’s no way around it, defense and control just burns money.”
Paige said somewhat helplessly, she was now saving money from various sources, the Gustin Group consortium naturally couldn’t just liquidate its assets at will like Temple in Heaven, so that there would be no one left to quell that group of plutocrats.
Enrico sits and hooks his hand at her.
Paige stood up and walked towards him, Enrico pulled her into his arms and pressed her to sit on his lap, his gray eyes looked deeply at her, his voice was low, not distinguishing between happiness and anger, “used to living in such a big manor, and then living in such a small house, can you stand it?”
It’s hard to go from luxury to frugality.
Paige sat on his lap, smiled at his words, raised her hand to trace his brow with her index finger, and said, “I want a house, no matter how big or small, as long as I have you and Gabriel in it.”
That was enough.
Enrico was tickled by her tracing, and as he held her fingers to his lips and kissed them, he said dotingly, “Okay, then move back to Rose Estate, what’s the second thing?”
Paige withdrew her own hand and held up her slender fingers in front of him, “Some of them are already in open marriages, am I missing one more thing?”
She didn’t have a single ornament on these fingers.
Enrico’s eyes deepened, pretending not to know, “What thing?”
“Really not for me?” Paige looked at him, “I’m going to track down the real culprit next, I can’t help but run around, don’t you want to give me something to think about?”
“What the hell do you want?” Enrico still looked puzzled.
It looked like he really wasn’t going to give her the ring, all right.
Paige got off his lap and said, “Go to bed early then, we’ll be running around at first light.”
With that said, she closed his computer and headed inside when her wrist was suddenly tugged by a hand.
The stars in the sky were sparse, and the night was as calm as water.
Paige looked back, Enrico was still sitting there, grasping her thin wrist, a pair of eyes staring straight at her, deep to dark, “I don’t really want you to find the real culprit behind the scenes, it’s too dangerous, and I don’t have the means to be by your side all the time.”
Because there were too many troubles to solve right now.
“Enrico …”
“But if I don’t let you go, I’m probably going to see you spitting blood again.”
Enrico’s grip on her hand tightened, his voice extremely deep, “So, Paige, if you really want something, give me peace and health.”
