As the soft jade-like hand touched his thigh, just about to move into that forbidden area, Flynn’s body involuntarily tensed, his brain buzzing. He quickly supported Callie Pearce’s back, helping her to sit up.
“Cough, cough… I have something tonight, I’m afraid I can’t fulfill your request…” Flynn coughed lightly to mask his embarrassment, smiling slightly.
He enjoyed the company of beautiful women, but his feelings for Callie Pearce were merely appreciative, without deeper attachment.
Nevertheless, he had noticed the changes in Callie Pearce over time.
This girl had changed a lot for him.
Callie Pearce, with her gentle demeanor, had clearly made a huge decision to pursue a more provocative approach.
Callie Pearce paused, a flash of disappointment in her eyes, but she quickly smiled and said:
“No worries, Callie Pearce’s door will always be open for Mr. Clark.”
After being rejected by Flynn previously, Callie had been heartbroken for a long time, but during that period, she had come to understand a lot.
Relationships take time to develop.
She believed that there would come a day when she could touch Flynn’s heart.
“Alright, alright!” Flynn pursed his lips and chuckled, quickly changing the subject:
“The herbal bath is ready; let’s make the beauty cream.”
“Sure, I’ll assist Mr. Clark,” Callie Pearce said, squatting down to get busy.
Lighting the fire, adding fuel, brewing tea, she was non-stop.
They talked about music, chess, ancient poetry, and culinary skills, all with great expertise.
During two hours of casual conversation, Flynn found himself increasingly interested in Callie Pearce.
It had to be said, Callie Pearce was truly skilled in managing home and family.
In ancient times, she would have been considered a talented lady.
Soon, the beauty cream was ready, a full pot of thick, deep green.
“I’ve made four pounds of The Elixir of Vigor; you keep half, and I’ll send the rest to Harriet Hamilton,” Flynn said, testing some on the back of his hand and feeling satisfied after a moment.
Experts in medicine can tell the effectiveness of a cream by its feel on the skin.
Just like girls testing makeup, a dab on the back of the hand can reveal the quality of a brand through its texture and scent.
The Elixir of Vigor, when applied, gives the skin a delicate feeling, opens the pores, and provides an indescribable comfort.
With regular application, it improves one’s constitution, nourishes the blood, and leaves the skin as soft as a baby’s.
It’s no exaggeration to say that after ten days of using The Elixir of Vigor, a ninety-year-old woman could look like a young girl.
While in Demon Island Prison, a royal princess once offered a billion dollars for Flynn to make it, but she didn’t even get through the door.
This was a matter of mood.
If Flynn was in the mood, he might make it for free.
If not, even an island in exchange wouldn’t suffice.
Flynn prepared two small jars of The Elixir of Vigor.
After handing one to Callie Pearce, she invited Flynn to stay for dinner.
Checking the time, it was already six o’clock in the evening, and he was indeed hungry, so he accepted.
Among all the women he knew, Callie Pearce’s culinary skills were unmatched.
The second best was Scarlet.
As for Rose, she was utterly hopeless.
The previous night, she had cooked two dishes that were completely bland, and Flynn had teased her about it for a long time.
Now, he thought she might have done it on purpose to annoy him.
“Look at this, much better! Unlike Rose, always at odds with herself.”
Watching Callie Pearce serve dishes and pour tea, Flynn inwardly ridiculed Rose again.
“Tell your dad, I’m going to The Edge Facility tomorrow, let those soldiers be ready; they’re going to be in a lot of pain, might even cry…”
After a satisfying meal, Flynn left these chilling words behind and drove away from Callie Pearce’s house.
In the morning, he had given the keys to Scarlet, knowing she was already at Thodell Mansion, so Flynn headed straight to Plenilune Mountain.
Upon entering, he saw Scarlet practicing yoga.
On the yoga mat in the hall, Scarlet stood barefoot, her voluptuous body clad in a white bodysuit.
From her proudly jutting chest to her slim waist, from her smooth back to her full, uplifted buttocks, down to her long, straight legs and tender, green onion-like feet…
Every corner pumped adrenaline through her veins.
Scarlet bent over, slowly rising while clutching her right shin with both hands until her right foot surpassed her head. Her hands then glided smoothly down her shins to her chest, palms pressed together, maintaining her balance on one foot.
The pose was difficult, requiring extreme flexibility, but Scarlet mastered it.
Her legs aligned in a straight line, one sole facing the sky, the other facing the ground, creating a seductive stance.
Flynn couldn’t help but click his tongue in amazement.
No wonder she could switch through so many poses last time; she had practiced yoga.
And her movements were so practiced; she performed the challenging pose with fluid grace.
But this was a pose they had yet to unlock…
“Phew-”
After holding it for a minute, Scarlet gently exhaled and slowly lowered her right leg.
“I didn’t see that coming. You practice yoga?” Flynn said with a smile as he settled onto the couch.
Scarlet gave him a look. “I eat so much, how else could I keep in shape?”
“I haven’t practiced in a while, and I’m starting to get a little belly. I’ll need to do several sets every day from now on.”
Then, with a cold smirk, she narrowed her eyes slightly and said, “You seem in a good mood; you must have had fun with Callie Pearce.”
“You probably couldn’t stop staring at her chest.”
Flynn replied casually, “What are you thinking? We were just talking business, okay?”
“No one believes that. You can’t even behave in front of me, let alone when a beautiful woman is around,” Scarlet snorted dismissively.
Flynn spread his hands and pouted, “Since that’s what you think, I guess I’ll cancel the trip to Pelens the day after tomorrow and hang out with Callie Pearce instead.”
“Pelens, the day after tomorrow?” Scarlet perked up and sat down next to Flynn.
Turning his head away sulkily, Flynn murmured, “I was thinking of introducing someone to my parents, but I guess that’s off.”
“It’s just as well we don’t go to Pelens if there’s no trust.”
Upon hearing this, Scarlet panicked and threw herself on Flynn, cooing, “Mr. Clark, I was wrong, isn’t that enough?”
Flynn chuckled and embraced her. “Alright, I forgive you. Now, tell me about what’s going on in Pelens, about Mr. Gray.”
Scarlet was delighted and began to explain.
It turns out-
Zion dominated Pelens, a king among the surrounding six cities and nineteen towns, standing at the pinnacle, commanding thousands of powers with a wave of his hand.
Hence, the Hussain family was undeniably the first noble house of Pelens, unchallenged.
The second leading family was that of Pelens’ richest man, Bobby Sheppard’s Sheppard family, with a fortune of $230 billion, and president of the Dragon Creek Society, able to influence the economy of Shipmeda State with a single word.
The Gray family ranked third, with vast connections in military, political, and business circles. Jaxson Gray, Rolando Gray’s uncle, boasted a fortune over $100 billion.
The Wong family eyed these connections, hoping to marry Scarlet into the Gray family to advance their status.
After hearing this, Flynn scoffed, “The old man wants to ally with the Gray family, probably for your uncle.”
If he remembered correctly, Scarlet’s uncle was the Secretary of Pelens, just a step away from deputy mayor.
The alliance between the Wong and Gray families was likely intended to pave the way for Scarlet’s uncle.
“Right, Grandpa has that in mind,” Scarlet said helplessly. “My uncle has a daughter, but Rolando Gray took an interest in me. Annoying, right?”
“Mr. Clark, you have to help me, or your woman might end up marrying into the Gray family.”
Flynn snorted and shook his head.
He thought the Gray family was so powerful, but they were nothing compared to the Hussain family.
Dealing with the Gray family was like a pro gamer entering a newbie village-boring and trivial.
He’d better think about Harriet Hamilton’s birthday party tomorrow.
If Zion really intended to take Harriet Hamilton away, Flynn would have to leave Zion’s fate in Niarak!
