Tom Fritz walked towards the door. When he opened it, Agnes was already picking up her bag from the sofa. She placed his laptop on his desk, glancing at the screen with over 400 unread emails. This left her feeling a bit overwhelmed.
“Sir, Miss Agnes’s clothes, your grandmother said to put them in your room,” the servant spoke softly, holding two exquisite large bags and looking at him with some difficulty. It was a long-standing rule that no one could enter Tom’s bedroom without his permission. Even cleaning was done by Tom Fritz himself. He disliked having servants in his room.
Agnes’s chest tightened slightly upon hearing this. She turned to look at the maid at the door. Sent to his room? Grandmother’s orders?
“Give them to me,” Tom Fritz said in a low, magnetic voice, extending his hand.
The servant handed him the bags.
“If you need anything else, please let me know. I’ll take my leave.”
Tom Fritz nodded while holding the bags.
“Okay.”
The door was half-open.
At this moment, Agnes, carrying her bag, came to his side and looked at him calmly.
Tom glanced at her and then thought for a moment before saying, “Grandmother’s intentions are clear; she wants us to stay in the same room tonight.”
Agnes didn’t speak. She just looked away, her cheeks slightly reddening as she recalled the earlier hug and kiss.
Tom spoke to her courteously, “I’m sorry, things didn’t go as we planned. But rest assured, you can sleep on the bed while I take the sofa tonight. Please trust me; I won’t harm or offend you.”
When she looked up again, she saw his deep and gentle eyes filled with sincerity.
How could she not trust him? He was her Mr. Cat, a true gentleman.
She just hadn’t fully processed her emotions yet, knowing his identity made it hard for her to face him.
Seeing that she didn’t outright refuse, Tom Fritz handed her the bags.
“The clothes are new and have been disinfected. You can use my bathroom to shower and lock the door if you like; I won’t need it for now.”
Would he still check his emails? Honestly, Agnes felt a bit dazed and didn’t want him to continue with his emails-it would make her feel awkward.
“What’s wrong?” Tom asked considerately.
Agnes took the bags from him and looked up.
“Could you come over a bit earlier? I’m not used to unfamiliar environments. I won’t take long-just 15 minutes.”
“Alright,” Tom Fritz agreed without hesitation.
Then Agnes started walking out.
“The first room on the left is my bedroom,” Tom Fritz said gently.
“I’ll walk you there.”
Agnes stopped and turned around when she noticed he was following her.
“Let’s go,” he said as he walked beside her. Neither of them mentioned their earlier emotions-the hug and kiss seemed like they never happened…
Not far behind them, Lisa opened her door after taking a shower and saw Tom Fritz opening his own room door and escorting Agnes inside with an arm around her shoulder.
Lisa was shocked and quickly closed her door quietly! Since Tom Fritz hadn’t entered his room yet, he might return to the study, and Lisa didn’t want him to see her.
Lisa felt petrified after closing the door; she held her breath for a few seconds in surprise.
