Chapter 96
POV: Queen Tamara Pierce
Her breathing became heavier, but her strong will to protect her child was stronger than her fears.
Lamina slowly moved towards the bed as they gradually moved away from her.
Her gray eyes were turning a darker shade. She could smell danger and pure ferocity surrounding her.
“What do you want now, Lamina?” Her stern voice resonated in the four corners of the room.
She was glad that her tone wasn’t shaken at all it was firm and full of resolve.
The cruel woman in her wolf form just let out a low, eerie growl, as if it was telling her to shut up.
But Tamara just wanted to end this peacefully well, she might say that she was hoping that way.
Lamina turned into her human form as she got some of bed sheet to cover her nakedness. She let out a vicious smirk. Her eyes were cold and unreadable.
“Finally, I have come face to face with you, Tamara oh, my bad. It is Queen Tamara now, right?” She sardonically stated.
“What do you want now?” Shanaia interjected, but Lamina just snapped back at her.
“Stop blabbering things, you unknown creature. I don’t need your voice right now or I will surely just rip you off.” Lamina wrathfully warned Shanaia.
She just held her hand and gave her a knowing look.
Tamika was still weak and almost unconscious. She didn’t want to trigger Lamina at that moment. She knew that she had the upper hand right now.
“Stop this nonsense thing, Lamina. Do you think Aeron and Leah would like this?” She softly uttered causing Lamina to shoot her a death glare.
“Stop mentioning their names here! You slutty b*tch!” Her voice thundered full of wickedness and vehemence.
“You are one of the reasons why they are now dead! If it wasn’t for you, they would still be alive. If it wasn’t for you, Leah would already be the Queen!” She yelled in anger.
But Tamara just shook her head in disagreement.
“Do you really think that they felt that way? I didn’t kill any of them, Lamina. It was all an accident!” She reasoned out, but Lamina just grunted with incongruity.
“Don’t try to feed me with those reasons, Tamara. You are the one to blame-”
“No, Lamina, it’s your anger and thirst for revenge that made your children go that far.” She sternly cut her words making her grit her teeth in fury.
“Do you know what they have had to bear for all these years? Have you tried asking yourself about it? Have you ever asked yourself whether what you are wanting them to be, are the ones that they like to be?” She asked with too much gentleness.
But Lamina was too blinded by her own negative thoughts to realize that all of her reasons were just a breeze passing by her ears. She didn’t want to hear anything for a heart that was lamenting, and a soul that had been scarred would just make the mind blame someone because it was unable to deal with those things. Furthermore, having those feelings lingering inside her, her inability to deal with the pain that she was feeling was just blocking her thoughts from understanding and being open.
“And you think you will be spared just because of your words, Tamara? You think you haven’t had a fair share of my children’s deaths?” Lamina mockingly stated.
Before she could open her mouth, they heard a loud and uncanny growl from outside.
Lamina chuckled evilly.
“Too bad, you are already running out of time, Tamara. Don’t worry, I won’t kill you right now. I just want you to see and feel the pain of losing someone dear to you. Let me give you a first gift of agony.” Lamina ominously announced causing her heart to thump faster inside her chest.
“Would you want to see your father, your mother, or your dearest husband cry in pain? Let’s see who is the lucky one, okay?” She cynically stated.
“What the heck did you do?!” She angrily snapped.
But Lamina just let out an evil and hearty laugh.
“Just wait, my dear. Goodbye!” She viciously bid her goodbye before she shifted into her wolf form and ran away.
Tamara felt her legs wobble. She was just thankful that Shanaia had helped her to sit down on the bed and so had Tamika.
“Shanaia… I must go out.” She pleaded.
She could feel that something bad had happened. Another loud growl resonated outside making her more anxious by the passing minute.
“But it is not safe yet.” Shanaia contradicted her.
Tamara stubbornly shook her head as she regained her strength and walked out of the room despite Shanaia’s contradictions.
Her heart was thumping so fast inside her. She could instantly feel the exhaustion, but her strong resolve and her adrenaline were pushing her to move her body.
Tamara suddenly stopped as she pushed the door wide open revealing the foreign and hideous creature, striking and growling like a mad animal.
“No…” She whispered under her breath.
Because her mind was trying to recollect the things that were lying in front of her very eyes.

POV: Prince Raven Pierce
He couldn’t believe that the Darkwoods had accumulated such strength in just a short period of time. He just knew that they were truly planning this all along. Maybe, even before.
But how?
And why?
If the Darkwoods wanted power, why destroy the palace that they wanted?
Or were they wrong all along?
They are truly losing right now. He couldn’t believe that they had such power beneath them. Well, the elixir of control that they had must have truly made miracles for them to do this.
But how long would it last?
He could see that they already had the upper hand in terms of surprising them with another attack-despite the fact that they had thrown the first one.
Then, something happened with the rogues that they had.
“What the hell is happening?” He could hear one of Darkwoods’ sentinel wolves asked as he suddenly transformed into his human form.
The rogues were coughing with blood right now and burst one by one.
He looked at Kage, who was now looking at him, too. They both nodded their heads.
“What the f*ck!” Cessair uttered as he was shocked to see what was happening to the rogues.
And he was instantly shocked to see himself in his human form.
“Surprised, Cessair?” He sardonically stated.
He knew that he truly was.
Because the last time they made a surprise attack, it wasn’t all about attacking for no reason at all. They had gone to their lab and reversed their elixirs to their advantage.
Cessair gritted his teeth as he picked something from his ripped jeans. It was a purple liquid that he instantly swallowed.
“You might have tricked us, but we’ve come here all prepared for one thing: to send agony among each and every one of you.” He slowly said, as he took out another liquid this time a bluish one.
He looked insane now losing his mind over their unjust revenge.
Then, in just a snap, Cessair’s eyes moved towards where his brother was and suddenly appeared in front of him giving him no amount of time to dodge away.
His eyes widened in surprise and terror as he saw Cessair inject something into Hades.
He swallowed hard as his heart began to thump faster than usual.
‘No! This can’t be happening!’ His mind mentally yelled inside him.
“Now, we are done here. Enjoy having this farewell… for now, Prince Raven and you bastard Kage.” He evilly stated as he playfully bowed his head down.
“And a sweet and bitter goodbye to you, King Hades Pierce.” Cessair scathingly said, before he turned into his wolf form and swiftly ran away.
He was stunned, and so was Kage.
Before they knew it, a loud and eerie growl resonated in the midst of them.
He tried to get near Hades, but he was dumbfounded the moment he saw him shift into something… so hideous.
“Holy f*ck…” He murmured under his breath.
Hades had shifted into a massive, monstrous lycan form.
The monster that he had been keeping inside him had finally been unleashed. And he had no idea how to deal with it now.
Prince Raven swallowed the lump that was suddenly blocking his throat.
“Let me through.” A low and cold voice suddenly brought his mind back to reality as he saw the masked woman named Shanaia walking like nothing was happening in front of them.
She was holding a red liquid in her hand which made him more curious and suspicious.
He was about to call her when she suddenly went near the King and tried to dodge every attack that Hades was throwing at her.
Raven couldn’t help but feel amazed at how she swiftly countered each of his moves.
But his eyes widened as he saw her being pushed to the ground and having a cut on her cheeks revealing a part of her face.
Hades had successfully thrown a good punch at her.
However, the monstrous creature growled making him realize why Shanaia had sacrificed that hard punch.
It was for her to inject that particular liquid into him.
For what?
His forehead creased at that thought.
And why does he suddenly feel curious about her face?
It was like he wanted to remove that piece of clothing and finally see her face.
‘What the hell, Raven?! You are in the middle of a chaotic situation!’ A part of his mind castigated him.
“F*ck…” He murmured as he realized what was running through his mind.
