Chapter 64
POV: King Hades Pierce
He knew that he had gone too far with Tamara. He shouldn’t have told her those things and that he knew that he was such a jerk for telling her those things. But it had already been said and nothing could even redo it.
As he saw how the pain was reflected in her face, he just wanted to punch himself, but he couldn’t stop the jealousy that was creeping into his entire system. Hence, he couldn’t stop his emotions; hence, he was blinded again by them.
It wasn’t a good thing, but he just couldn’t get a grip on himself in that very short period of time. And seeing Tamara now in front of his eyes, he felt like the scene of memories with her and that f*cking salutary wolf suddenly flashed into his mind causing him to lash out at her.
Now, he was just so shocked to see her unleash this new side of her.
Their father had already warned him and Raven about this possibility. That this could happen to their mates, and he just proved it in front of his very eyes.
He saw how Tamara’s dark brown eyes turned into crimson red as her canines bared and her claws elongated. The veins near her eyes turned dark blue as she let out a loud cry.
Hades expected it to happen already but seeing this unfold in front of his eyes had made him a bit shocked and worried one thing that Raven had feared to happen to Shahara. Now, it was Tamara’s fate to be a lycan like them.
It was something that their ancestors had also inherited them. When a royal blood finally consummated the marriage and was bitten by them, their mates had a high chance of turning into a lycan.
Tamara let out a loud growl as her aura darkened laced with pure grief and deep pain.
Hades let out a deep sigh.
Especially when he saw the door burst open and Arlan and Raven go in. They were both dumbfounded and shocked by what was happening. But Tamara’s where only focus was on him, and he was on her.
“What the f*ck…” He heard Raven murmur under his breath, and he just shot them a death glare.
They immediately went out of the room as Tamara vanished in front of him and he instantly dodged something on his left.
Hades knew that it was Tamara trying to punch him while he was still communicating with Arlan and Raven. But apparently, he didn’t let his guard down. He shouldn’t let her be eaten by her eternal inhumanity.
He slightly shook his head. This was his fault. He shouldn’t have said those hurtful words, but even though his heart was telling him that, his mind and inner wolf were telling him otherwise.
Besides, Tamara was already the Luna Queen, and she needed to be able to control her emotions as well as keep her distance from other men. She must know her place now that she is already married to her and even to her friends they must respect her and not just to continue being informal with her.
Now, this would be a very long process for her again. Controlling the lycan form wasn’t that easy, and it requires a lot more patience and strength to be successful and get a hold of it.
Hades swiftly dodged another punch from Tamara as she grunted in frustration because she couldn’t take a hit from him. He immediately grabbed her arms and turned it to her back he was now facing her back.
Her scent assaulted his nose right away, and she almost escaped from his grasp. Tamara growled in pain, and he let out a loud curse.
“Stop squirming!” He yelled in between his gritted teeth, but Tamara just continued wriggling in his hands.
He drew her in closer to his body like no air could ever pass between them and sniffed her neck. Tamara unconsciously moaned in pleasure. He was, too, was just turned on by her moans, but he needed to stop her and help her get a hold of her sanity.
Without saying anything, Hades dipped his head, and bit into her flesh with his canines bared.
Tamara cried in pain as she tried to stop him from biting her, but then, he was stronger than she. She might have already turned into a lycan, but she was still new to controlling it. Besides, he knew that her animalistic lycan had already controlled her instead.
He straightened his posture as he saw the fresh bit in her neck. Tamara gasped for air as she growled in pain. She almost faced the floor if not for him who was holding her tightly in his arms. She was already unconscious, but she was shivering and had a high fever.
Hades carried Tamara into his arms as he walked towards the huge door it instantly opened. He saw Raven and Arlan’s worried faces, and he mentally scoffed at the both of them.
“Call for Elder Zeparu.” He quickly commanded Arlan, who instantly obeyed him.
“So, you really turned her into a lycan.” It was a brief statement from his virtuoso brother, and he couldn’t stop himself but to smirk at him.
“I didn’t know that it would push through.” Hades seriously stated.
Raven just stared at him without any hint of emotion in his face.
“Besides, I know that she can do it and she should possess it. We have a lot of enemies, and she must have it to protect herself even if I am not by her side.” He couldn’t stop himself from explaining his side, even though he knew that it wasn’t that necessary to do so.
Raven nodded his head and weakly smiled before turning his back on him.
“I just hope I can still do that. I hope I had the determination and the courage to do that.” He lowly whispered as he walked away from him.
He didn’t know what to say to him anymore. His mind was still with Tamara’s condition, but he couldn’t deny how much he pitied his brother’s stand on this matter. He knew what he had decided long ago. He even tried to advise him, but he had his own plans that he didn’t want to get into.
Hades breathed loudly as he continued walking towards their room. The moment he put Tamara to bed, he instantly covered her with the sheets. She was still unconscious and burning.
Until now, seeing her was just bringing up the mixed of emotions he had for her. He couldn’t deny that the jealousy that had taken over him was making him believe that what he had said and done to Tamara was just right.
‘But cruel…’
A part of his mind whispered, and he mentally groaned.
A loud knock from the door made him get up from the huge bed and open it only to get irritated at the man glaring at him and standing beside Arlan.
“What the f*ck are you doing here?” His voice was low and threatening causing Arlan to get nervous while looking at him and Kage.
“What did you do to her? She just came from a life and death situation!” Kage’s furious voice instantly heightened, that his brows furrowed.
“K-Kage!” Arlan was shocked and called him because of his rudeness.
“And why do you care? I didn’t ask for you?! I asked for Zeparu. I know I am clear with that.” He dangerously stated as he stared at Arlan, who gulped in nervousness.
“Uhm, Your Majesty, Elder Zeparu was in the woods. Dreyson had already fetched him, and Kage went with me to give first aid. If necessary…” Arlan anxiously replied in a swift manner as if he had been chased by a demon.
“She didn’t need a first aid. Their elder knew how to deal with this, and I don’t need you to be here.” He pressingly told them while he viciously stared at Kage.
He gave him a dauntless expression and gritted his teeth.
“Let me see her, then. If she is really alright.” Kage angrily demanded which made the King sardonically smile.
However, Arlan knew him better. He could already see the intensifying madness and ominous aura of the King.
“Let’s go, Kage!” He tried to stop Kage, but the latter just didn’t care whether he would end his life at that very moment.
Hades raised his hand stopping Arlan and giving him a knowing look before closing the door behind him.
“Leave us alone.” His voice was low and hostile.
Arlan apprehensively stared at Kage before he swiftly walked away from them.
“Let me see her.” Kage impolitely commanded.
“Who are you to command me? Do you know that I can end your life right here, right now?” He sarcastically said, but the salutary wolf just smirked fearlessly at him.
He wanted to grit his teeth in annoyance, but he refrained himself from doing so. He wouldn’t give this man the satisfaction of giving him such an expression.
“I know what you are doing, wolf. But let me remind you that I am the King, and she was my Queen.” He ferociously stated emphasizing the word ‘King’ and ‘My.’
Kage suddenly went silent, but his face darkened more making the corner of his mouth rise a bit.
“The only reason why you are still standing now in front of me is because she was treating you as her friend, and I don’t want her to blame herself that I killed you because of her. Other than that…” Hades shrugged his shoulders.
Kage clenched his fists as he couldn’t deny the fact that his words were true.
“Just let me see her…” He tried to ask, but the King’s disposition towards him was only laced with pure hate, deep jealousy, and overflowing rage.
He kept his silence as he shot him a deadly glare.
“Now, let me just remind you of your place…” He seriously stated that he had taken a step towards him intimidating Kage and ignoring his request.
“You. Are. Just. A. Friend.” He emphasized every single word that he said, and before Kage could even utter a word, he immediately continued talking to him, using his usual bored tone.
“So, keep your feelings to yourself. Because it is slowly showing already, she might discover about it and hate you in the long run.” He lowly whispered.
Kage’s eyes widened as fear and guilt crossed within them. The King didn’t even wait for his words, and he instantly turned his back on him.
The moment he entered the room, he firmly gritted his teeth as an immense fury reflected on his face. He moved towards where Tamara was sleeping peacefully. She wasn’t shivering anymore but still burning with fever well, based on how hot her forehead was when he put his palm on it.
He let out a deep sigh as he stood up.
For now, he needed to cool down. And the only possible solution to that was to take a cold shower. His jaw moved as he watched Tamara intently before taking a quick cold shower.
That Kage has really gotten into his nerves now.
He was still worried about Tamara’s condition, yet her secret admirer was still trying to interfere and test his patience.
Even though patience wasn’t really included in his vocabulary, it was one thing that he learned to lengthen for Tamara’s sake.
