Chapter 59
POV: Prince Raven Pierce
He was breathing frantically as he tried to control himself from transforming into his lycan form. He couldn’t deny the fact that his brother’s capability was far more superior than him.
How much more when he is already transformed into its lycan form?
Prince Raven growled as he felt his arm throbbing in pain. He growled once again this time an eerie and a longer one because of pure frustration and intolerable pain. He didn’t even feel that Hades had already managed to scratch him with his elongated claws.
It happened too fast and that he didn’t manage to see how he did that to him.
He inwardly groaned in pain as he tried to hide it from his brother. For he already knew him very well. Once he had smelled the fear from his opponent, it would surely fuel his desire to end his opponent giving him the triumphant satisfaction.
But as he took a glance at his wounded arm, he discreetly snarled at himself. He might not really stop his brother from taking his life.
Because from the looks of it from the black liquid mixing with his crimson red blood it would only take him a couple of minutes before the poison eventually took him down.
If he was just a normal wolf it would only take a second for the poison to spread, but his immunity as a lycan could make it a little bit longer. However, it wouldn’t stop unless being treated.
He stared at his brother in his lycan form.
It wasn’t a great sight to see.
He was a huge black furred wolf who was standing with his two back paws, and its elongated claws were dripping with his blood.
His bared canines were dauntingly manifesting like it wanted to devour him fully. His eyes were cold, and he wasn’t reflecting any emotion at all.
He was like a predator just wanting to devour its prey with no mercy and no regret in doing so.
His canines bared as he tried to dodge his swift move in attacking him. But he hit the floor with his wounded arm that he let out a loud howl.
Prince Raven gritted his teeth as he felt himself weakened with every minute that passed. And thinking about the possibility that his brother might spare his life was undoubtedly a zero percent chance.
He smiled bitterly.
Maybe he would meet his tragic demise here, huh?
With his own brother’s hands?
Those thoughts were already lingering inside his head.
Prince Raven slightly shook his head.
Well, his death wouldn’t be that sad for if Shahara was truly dead, then, it would be his luck to meet her in the moon goddess’ chamber after all of this.
His one leg fell down the marbled floor as he felt like it was already getting numb no matter how much he tried to stand up he ended up limping on the floor.
Whatever happened at that very moment, all that he was thinking was that for the next lifetime, he had hoped for Shahara.
That if he would give him a second chance, he would take care of her. He would tell her everything. He would be open to her. He wouldn’t protect her in secrecy or prove his loyalty to her. He would show her how much he loved her. He would do everything just to keep her and to make their marriage work.
If he had only been given that chance.
He felt his heart sunk down with all those dreamy thoughts he longed for to happen.
But it looked like, he had already run out of chance.
Much to his desire to get back to the track of their plans. Much to his desire to punish those who had wronged him. Much to his desire to get revenge for Shahara.
It was all impossible for him to do that.
Because he needed to surpass this first.
He needed to tame the beast inside his brother’s lycan form.
If he could just do so.
But the last time it resurfaced; Tamara was there.
Although she might not be able to remember it. When she was kidnapped, her safety, and her smiles had tamed his brother’s beast inside him.
But now…
Prince Raven was just feeling so hopeless as he felt his body stiffen and his breathing became so slow and too heavy.
And before he knew it, he heard a loud thud with his body falling on the marbled floor.
Before darkness consumed him, a familiar and concerned loud voice resonated in the entire room.
Maybe, just maybe, he was given one more chance to gather himself and move forward for Shahara.
And to avenge her death.
With that thought in mind, Prince Raven just let his lids cover his eyes as exhaustion and the poison overtook him.

POV: Tamara Pierce
When she saw him in his lycan form she couldn’t deny how amazed she was. It was her first time seeing Hades in that form and she just couldn’t believe her eyes.
But on the other side, it made her forget the pain that she was trying to stifle inside.
She wasn’t totally healed yet.
However, when she heard from Arlan about what might happen to Hades, she couldn’t stop herself from going to the palace despite her condition and her parents’ disapproval.
But her instinct intensified when she felt something inside her ticked and flipped. She knew that something was happening to Hades.
The way her soul almost was shaken inside her and the fast beating of her heart wasn’t an easy thing to disregard.
After what happened between her and Hades, something inside her suddenly became more connected with him. It was like an invisible connection with her mate, and it had turned stronger after they finally consummated their marriage.
It was a fascinating thing and a painful connection if she might add.
Because when her mate was in danger, she would be sensing it.
And right now, she knew that something was happening to her King.
So, she didn’t hesitate to come with Arlan. And it was the great decision she had chosen.
Her breathing hitched when she saw how Raven fell on the marbled floor.
She heard Arlan lowly curse. She didn’t know that he was already stuck in place, the moment he saw the King’s condition.
Well, she wouldn’t deny that they were both stunned and oblivious to what was happening.
Hades growled loudly as if he was celebrating his victory in defeating Raven, but his cold and bloodshot red eyes were sending a different message for her. It was like, it wanted to devour its own brother!
“Don’t!” She shouted in her hoarse voice.
It was weak and low, but it caught the King’s attention. It snarled at her, but it stopped afterwards as it sniffed in the air.
Her smell might have caught his attention, huh? Tamara mentally thought.
Then, his blank eyes moved at Arlan’s hands on her, and it was getting ready to attack him, but she was fast enough to move away from Arlan despite her still fresh wound.
She gave Arlan a knowing look before she swiftly stared back at Hades. He must get Raven out of here soon and fast!
“Hades!” She weakly called his name as she was trying to divert his attention to her and not to Arlan who was trying to get to Raven as soon as possible.
Given the fact that, he had fallen was something that they shouldn’t be taking as simple as it might seem. Raven was almost Hades’ equal. And him, falling on the floor, just like that.
Tamara mentally shook her head.
He must be in grave danger.
Hades’ let out a low growl as if he was trying to ask her something.
She successfully got his attention, and she almost gasped when she saw how cold and emotionless his eyes were especially that it was glisteningly red.
Her inner wolf was becoming restless inside her.
“I-It’s me…” Her voice pleadingly and hoping for him to come back to his senses.
Tamara wanted to touch him, but he was still disoriented most probably because he was curious about why her smell attracted him so much.
Then, she remembered what Arlan had told her a while ago.
‘If he had turned into his lycanthrope form, it would be difficult for him to get back. Once he left his humanity, it would be hard for him to turn back into his human or wolf form again. So, please, Your Grace, I have a hunch that the King needs you now. You are the only one who could save him!’
He begged once he knew that she was already awake.
And it was drawn to her why the soft voice kept on calling her from her dream.
She needed to be someone’s light.
She needed to be Hades’ light.
Tamara wanted to pass out as she felt the throbbing pain in her wounded chest which the blood from it was slowly becoming visible, covering the white gauze that was covering it.
She let out a deep breath and Hades stared at her intently, then, at her wound.
It let out a low rumble as if he was furious because of her wound.
Hades’ lycan form slowly moved towards her and she almost fell to the ground, but Hades was faster than he caught her.
Her inner drive and strong will might keep her going, but her body had its limits already given that she wasn’t fully healed yet.
She was trying her utmost to stand on the ground, but her body was just too exhausted, and her energy was already drained.
Tamara stared at his cold and impassive eyes before she weakly smiled at him.
Hades just hissed at her exposing his bared canines.
Her smile stretched out more with her eyes slightly blurred because of unshed tears.
She held his face and he let out a loud and pleading roar, her smile widened.
“Hades…” She sweetly called his name.
He instantly closed his eyes.
Like he knew that its master had already been back. Like she was the only one who could bring him back. Like she was what he had been waiting for.
And when he opened his eyes it was slowly turning into his original color his pitch-black orbs.
Tamara felt like something inside her had been resurrected back. She knew that inside her, she was totally nervous and frightened. She was anxious by the thought that Hades wouldn’t be back to his human form.
But now that his eyes were back, she could finally see hope.
She knew she just needed to pull him back.
But how?
Then, she saw pleading and concerned eyes.
Tamara felt like she wanted to do something.
And before she could even think straight and stop herself, she tiptoed and kissed him.
It was just a peck at first, but Hades hands turned into his human form and gently pulled her so he could deepen the kiss, they were both sharing. It was the most magical thing to happen for Tamara.
Until Hades slowly turned into his human form Tamara could feel like she was successful in saving Hades after all.
‘Bearing the pain was all worth it.’ She mentally thought.
The pain was intensifying and becoming unbearable, that even his kisses couldn’t numb it anymore. His kisses became her losing end. That whatever happened after this, she wouldn’t regret anything.
Until Tamara felt like she had taken all of her might to stay awake.
The light had already run out of her.
