Chapter 28
POV: King Hades Pierce
Everything was a total mess!
The moment she saw Tamara in her state, she was already hardly breathing. Her face was pale, but something in her arm had caught his eyes.
He gritted his teeth and clenched his hands before he started walking back and forth towards the small office Doc Dreyson’s office, to be exact.
King Hades frustratedly licked his lips and placed his hands on his waist as he let out a deep sigh. His heart beat was uneven and his animalistic side was trying to overtake him once again. But he wouldn’t let it happen. Not now that he still didn’t know what was happening to Tamara.
The door suddenly opened, and Doc Dreyson entered the room.
He heaved a deep dreadful sigh the moment their eyes met. He didn’t like the expression he had on his face for a hint inside him was creating pure turmoil creeping on every vein in his system.
“How was she?” He simply asked as he was remained standing.
His voice was dark, plain, and low. No emotions would be visible in it nor would be there an ounce of nervousness or worry laced with it. It was contradicting his inner battles, though. He couldn’t take a sit again, for he wanted to shake off the intensifying concern inside him.
Doc Dreyson politely bowed his head and he sat on his swivel chair before he slowly removed his eyeglasses and placed it to his table. His eyes dropped to where he was and gently shook his head and leaned at the back of his chair.
“It wasn’t good, King Hades. An unknown poison was injected into her. Even Kage was worried about it, for he didn’t know what it was. We just needed to be thankful that it wasn’t spreading fast in her body. She was still fighting it inside her.” The good doctor stated with his frustrating and worried tone.
Doc Dreyson sat straight and placed his elbows over the table and intertwined his hands together.
“If we wouldn’t act and find out what this was, I want you to know that it could lead to her death.” He directly confirmed that.
King Hades wanted to punch the wall about what he had heard. His intensifying wrath was to the moon. He clenched his jaw as his aura turned darker and that even Doc Dreyson, who knew him very well, was shivering at his mere sight of him.
“Then what should we do now?” His menacing tone was growing deeper every second.
Doc Dreyson let out a deep sigh and directly looked at the King, who was wearing an undeniable ferocity on his face.
“We must wait. Kage and I were trying out our very best at this. It was a delicate and critical condition, so we must be extra careful.” The doctor patiently answered.
“Very well, then. Just informed me about everything. I need to get back at the castle in the meantime.” He plainly said, before turning around and walking towards the door.
“By the way, I will impose sentinels around your place and don’t let Raven leave the premises. The moment I’m done with my duty, I will give him a present.” His tone lingers on the doctor’s spine.
It wasn’t new to Doc Dreyson to hear such words coming from the King and pertaining to his brother. He had seen and heard it a lot of times already, but whenever he did that, it never fails to give chills inside him.
King Hades with his dark and vicious aura finally opened the door and marched outside the hospital. He saw Arlan waiting for him outside and silently followed him. The brightness of the sun rising didn’t give him any hope for a new day. Instead, it was giving him more defiance about the enemies he was trying to take down.
“Just leave me alone for a moment.” He seriously commanded before walking towards his room.
Arlan gave him a concerned look before bowing his head and stopping his tracks on following him. He knew that everyone had seen his stoic and cruel aura hence, no one tried to talk nor to block his way.
The moment his door was closed, he hardly punched the wall in his room. The cement cracked and his fist was covered with blood, but he didn’t care he didn’t even feel any pain, at all. His mind was crowded with the raging emotions that were gradually eating him up.
He wanted to tear down every single one of his enemies, but he knew it wasn’t that kind of battle that he wanted to go through. Besides, giving them a one-strike easy death wouldn’t give him satisfaction. They needed to be tore up slowly… and painfully.
His eyes turned crimson red as he let out an eerie and loud growl that resonated throughout the entire castle making everyone tremble in so much fear.

POV: Leah Darkwood
Meanwhile, on the Darkwood Pack, everyone was celebrating for a successful strike they executed last night. Surely, Shahara and Tamara wouldn’t make it by midnight.
She mercilessly smiled as she sipped on her champagne.
Well, they certainly deserved it for getting in her way. No one messes with her. No one messes to her family.
Aeron’s perfectly invented ‘poison’ was injected into Tamara. It would gradually run into her veins and soon would cause her death. Nobody knew how it would work only Aeron. He always had the antidote to his inventions anyway.
Her eyes dropped to Aeron, who was sitting in front of her in a black cabriole shotting her a death glare. She just gave him her signatured smirk and rolled her eyes.
“Are you still annoyed about me getting your inventions, huh?” She cockily commented.
Her brother was still mad at her for getting his inventions without his consent. Well, she didn’t give a damn, though. She wanted to use that poison he had conceived. He made it for these kinds of things anyway.
Aeron pressed his lips together and shot her a dagger look.
“Stop meddling with my things, Leah.” His voice was deep and furious.
Leah let out a deep sigh before rolling her eyes for the nth time.
“Fine, fine.” She forcibly answered.
She shook her head as she sipped her champagne and looked at her parents instead most especially to her mother, who was happily chatting to her father and Elder Courdamus. They were probably talking about what happened.
Leah also heard that Shahara was also in a critical condition now because her father shot her with his poisonous arrow. She wasn’t surprised, his father was a great Archer. Besides, now she knew where his father uses the other poison, she had given him.
She walked towards her parents. Aeron watched her but didn’t say a word. His annoying expression lessened, but it was still visible though.
Well, she was more indulgent hearing their next plan instead of answering her brother’s pettish bickering.
“We must already move on with our next plan.” Leah heard Elder Courdamus suggest.
She silently sat in the armchair next to her father and listened to their conversation.
“Very well, we must strike while the iron is hot.” Her mother stated with a victorious cruel smile plastered on her lips.
“I will talk to the other elder under our alliance to support the continuation of the second round.” Elder Courdamus told them, and her mother found her eyes.
“Now, you must be prepared, Leah. You must win the next round and prepared for the battle. You must be the next Queen, no matter what.” Her voice was laced with pure resolve.
Her inner wolf growl in excitement within her.
Their pack, undeniably, was the best, and no one would ever put them down.

POV: Kage Esmeray
He was frustratingly staring at the chart that the nurse had given him. It indicates every result of the tests for Tamara and Shahara. He was annoyed that he couldn’t find any answer, nor a tiny little hint of what possible things that could cure them.
The poison used was too tricky and it was his first time to see the various effects. He shook his head and decided to visit Tamara in her room.
Tamara and Shahara were still unconscious, and they were still in danger. The poison was slowly creeping down their veins and it created a dark blue-like liquid mixed in their blood. It was making everyone worried.
Good thing that they were fighters and still trying to match the poison inside them. Their natural healing was taking over them, but they wouldn’t stop finding ways to cure them. They wouldn’t rely on it, for anytime, he knew something might have happened.
Kage’s forehead creased when he saw Tamara’s door was open. He immediately ran into it, and he saw someone wearing a black hood was injecting something on Tamara.
He let out a loud dangerous growl before attacking the intruder, but in an instant, he couldn’t move his feet on the ground. It was as if he was stuck on where he was standing and couldn’t control his own body.
He wanted to grit his teeth and turn into his wolf form, but he couldn’t. The intruder finished injecting something and immediately went out of the window. He didn’t even see his face now any clue of who it probably was.
“What happened?” Doc Dreyson asked his voice was laced with panic and concern.
Kage tried to move his feet and he almost kissed the floor when he realized he could already move.
“Someone went in and injected something into Tamara. I don’t know who it was. I was glued to where I was.” He instantly explained.
The maddening sound of the beeping machine caught their attention and their eyes widened in do much worry.
Doc Dreyson and Kage went to where Tamara was lying in and saw her whimper in so much pain.
