Was he happy or sad that she is coming back or something? Why does he look like someone who has lost hope in himself and everything around him?
“What sort of life are we living, anyway?”
“Huh!” My brows perked up. “What are you talking about?”
“She’s an innocent Omega. A marked Omega who can’t reject any of us if she wants.” He shut his eyes tiredly and continued. “To be honest, I’m not interested in this fated mate stuff with her. I don’t love her. I just feel sorry for her. Sometimes I wonder why she has to go through a lot because we are her mates. I know she belongs to us and stuff, but don’t you think there is a way we can break the bond?”
“You know that’s not possible, right?”
“Yeah, I know.” He chuckled. “All I know is, she’s an Omega who doesn’t deserve our-”
“I don’t care if she doesn’t deserve it.” I forced my attention to the view of the city through the transparent glass of my hotel room upstairs to not get my anger out of control.
“Why do you hate her so much? You were so protective of her four years ago? Was all that act real or a farce?”
“I protected her because I hate her.” I responded, strolled up to him and kissed him on his nose, taking off his white robe and grabbed his crotch. “Can we stop talking about her? All I need is you right now.”
His eyes were full of want and he said. “I know you do.”
“Sorry to spoil the moment.” Lykan barged in with the most devilish smirk on his face by kicking the door open. “I don’t intend to burst your bubble, but we’ve got exciting news on our hands.”
Donovan nuzzled me away from him, covered himself with his robe, and stood up from the bed without looking at him. “How dare you barge into my room?” His gray eyes glimmered for a second as his gaze darted to Lykan’s. “How did you get past the security and the receptionist? Don’t you have some respect? Should I cut off your head from your miserable shoulders before you understand what you just did?”
Lykan strolled with his hands spread apart in his black fitted suit, as he began talking before putting both hands in his pockets.
“Like I apologized, brother. Sorry to ruin your moment.” He stopped in front of Donovan. “Don’t tell me you haven’t felt it by now?”
“What do you want?” Donovan’s face squeezed with a clenched fist. “If you don’t start speaking, I will punch you in the face before you even breathe.”
“She’s not escaping from any of us this time. I don’t care what Sihwa says, I’m taking her with me. If he wants to kill me, let him do it.”
“Are you fucking crazy? Who the hell do you think you are talking to? Is your dick twitching so much, you’ve gone nuts without reasons? Have you forgotten that all of us belong to her? I don’t understand how you think sometimes. Thinking about how your brain works gives me a headache.” He pointed at the door. “Get out of my room.”
“He’s not the only one who’s gone nuts?” I wore my robe properly and Grimm leaned at the right side of the door, watching the three of us in amusement.
Donovan freed his fist and faced Grimm. “What do you mean? What are the both of you doing here?”
“Really? Are you asking me that?” He laughed. “You really want to let her go once she arrives at the pack?”
“She’s not any of my-”
“Of course, she’s your business. Our business.” He stressed his words with a psychopathic look on his face.
He sauntered to Donovan, both hands majestically in his pockets. “Do you think you will resist her once she comes closer to you? Do you think she will run away from us this time?” Grimm grabbed Donovan’s chin and pulled it closer to his face. “She wouldn’t escape from me like the last time she did. No one will save her this time. If I can’t get her, I will kill her.”
Donovan inhaled before looking at Grimm. “Do whatever you want with her. I’m not involving myself with her when she comes.”
“Oh, yes, you will get yourself involved, Donovan. I will be at the doorway to receive her in my arms and you will watch me rape her mercilessly with her blood dripping from my dick.”
“And a great despair awaits.” Zane mocked as he walked through the door too, in amusement. “Hello, Gerhard and Donovan. Long time no see.”
~ Wendy’s Pov ~
I couldn’t stop staring at the sky sitting on the deck of the ship. Courtney and Chelsea were both playing around the ship and having the best times of their lives.
“Catch me, Chelsea.” She laughed and suddenly pointed at the dolphins inside the sea. “Look at those dolphins, Chelsea. They are so beautiful.” She shrieked in excitement. “So pretty. Can I go meet them?”
“I don’t know about that. I don’t want to get in the water.”
“Yeah. Yeah. I know you don’t wanna get soaked in the water, but I want to.” Courtney took her clothes off and threw them at the edge of the ship.
“Don’t tell me you wore your black swimming trunk inside your clothes.”
“Yes, because I knew I would come across this beautiful sea. I had a dream last night.” She climbed on the edge.
Chelsea folded her arms on her chest. “I’m telling you. This is a terrible choice.”
“Don’t be jelly-jelly. You are just scared of the water.” Courtney screamed happily. “Wish me luck, Chelsea.” And looked at me. “And you too, Wendy.” She waved at me. I raised my thumbs up and wished her luck with a forced smile.
“Let it sail.” She sang and jumped into the sea.
Some water splashed at Chelsea’s face. “COURTNEY.” Chelsea panicked a little when she didn’t sight Courtney and got relieved when Courtney popped her head out of the water. “Told ya, the water is such a refreshing feeling.” She giggled. “Come on, in. You would love it.”
“No, thanks.” Chelsea declined. “I would rather fall into a fire than this sea.” She pointed out. “I hate when my skin itches after.”
“Stop behaving like a baby. It’s outstanding.”
Chelsea shook her head. “Get back into the deck, Courtney.”
I watched how fun they both were and wished they hadn’t followed me out of the Twilight Springs. I would have convinced them to stay back. Now, it feels as if I had multiplied the burden on my shoulders.
I wonder if I had made a terrible mistake in letting them follow me. However, if they hadn’t followed me, what would my journey through the sea have felt like?
Lonely.
