Chapter 627: Even the God of War Willingly Becomes His Underling!

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2024-11-12

Human beings are a peculiar species.
When a billionaire with a fortune of a hundred billion drives a Rolls-Royce, nobody bats an eye; it seems only natural.
But when someone from an ordinary family stretches their budget to buy a BMW, others accuse them of showing off.
That was exactly the state of mind of General Cruz now.
Before he knew the protagonist of the incident was Flynn, he thought deploying the army to make a show of force was too ostentatious, too presumptuous, too much of a show-off.
But once he realized it was Flynn’s doing, he found it completely normal.
Indeed, for someone of Flynn’s stature, even bringing an army of three hundred thousand to show off seemed perfectly reasonable.
Power determines everything.
Rules are chains that bind the lowly, but to those at the top, they are valuable tools.
This truth has never changed.
“Holy shit! He’s not just utterly disrespectful to General Cruz? He dared to strike someone in his presence?!”
“Such blatant provocation! This kid won’t make it through today! The God of War will surely kill him!”
“My God, he slapped Danna’s teeth out; to strike a woman so harshly, that’s not the act of a real man!”
Everyone who saw Flynn send Danna Mcguire flying seven or eight meters burst into angry protests, flames practically shooting from their eyes.
Devin Donovan was also shocked; he thought Flynn had chickened out, but then he pulled this stunt. What was he thinking? Going down in flames, taking as many with him as he could?
Flynn, however, ignored everyone and stared directly at General Cruz with a smirk that was not quite a smile: “Why so quiet, General Cruz? Have you become so important that you can ignore my questions now?”
General Cruz’s body jolted, and he quickly stepped up to Flynn, grinning obsequiously and nodding his head vigorously.
“Ha ha… I owe my position as Lesser Sovereign all to Mr. Clark.”
“I wouldn’t dare ignore you, not for a million dollars! Heh heh…”
Now, there wasn’t a trace of the God of War in General Cruz; he was completely the underling, fawning and obsequious.
Everyone was dumbstruck.
“What’s going on? The God of War is acting like a clown in front of that kid? Afraid of making him mad?”
“My dear mother! That’s the God of War, a major general in command of eighty thousand troops! And he’s practically bowing and scraping before this young man?”
“Who is this young man that even the God of War shows him such respect?!”
People rubbed their eyes, unable to believe what they were seeing.
It was absurd, utterly unthinkable!
Even Callie Pearce was startled; she had long known that General Cruz and Flynn had a relationship, but she thought it was a friendship of equals.
She had never imagined that scene just now, with the God of War bowing and scraping to Flynn!
And calling him Mr. Clark?
The God of War willingly becomes his underling!
How powerful must Flynn be?
Devin Donovan’s eyes nearly popped out of his skull, staring in utter shock at the scene before him, fiercely pinching his thigh.
Damn, it wasn’t a dream, it was real!
That was the God of War!
Every time he came to Niarak, Mr. Richardson had to meet him at the airport, and all the big shots hosted banquets for him.
If it weren’t for his mother having worked for the Brooks family, Devin Donovan wouldn’t even have the right to speak to General Cruz!
Moreover, his Crimson Dragon Gang only rose up because of the God of War’s influence; otherwise, he’d still be a small-time thug!
Riding a bit on the Brooks family’s coattails, Devin Donovan became a figure in Niarak, which showed how terrifying General Cruz’s influence was.
Yet now, with just a languid word from Flynn, he was whining and acting like a good little boy!
Danna Mcguire and other internet celebrities were also thunderstruck, craning their necks, incredulously watching the unfolding scene.
In their world, General Cruz was a towering figure, his authority unassailable and awe-inspiring. People wished they could kneel to speak to him. Unexpectedly, there stood someone before them who could make General Cruz bow and scrape, and this person was the very enemy they had just offended!
“General Cruz, save… save me…” Devin Donovan approached General Cruz with eyes wide in terror and careful steps.
By now, even the foolhardy Devin understood the situation-General Cruz was not the top authority here! Remembering his earlier disrespect, Devin felt a chill run down his spine.
“Save you?” General Cruz’s face was murderous as he turned to look at Devin Donovan and barked furiously, “Of all people to offend, you had to offend Mr. Clark!”
“Watch as I break your damn legs!”
Before the words had even faded, General Cruz grabbed Devin Donovan’s shoulders, and with a crisp crack, the God of War crushed both his shoulders.
Then, General Cruz stomped on Devin Donovan’s knees.
Crack!
The sound of breaking bones echoed as Devin Donovan’s knees shattered. Already grievously injured, Devin Donovan now lay half-dead, his screams filling the mountaintop.
Everyone around inhaled sharply in shock.
Instead of helping, General Cruz had crippled Devin Donovan’s limbs?
Danna Mcguire and the others felt a cold dread fill them.
If this was Devin’s fate, what would become of them?
“Thump!”
The internet celebrities all knelt; Danna Mcguire crawled over from not far away, her heart shattered with fear.
“General Cruz, we were wrong, please forgive us, don’t… sob…”
They were terrified, their bodies limp, their cries filled the air as if they were about to die at any second.
“Ah, my legs, my arms!” Devin Donovan howled in agony, his forehead slick with sweat. He bitterly exclaimed, “General Cruz, you were raised on my mother’s milk, and today not only do you not help me, but you also beat me on his behalf, you heartless beast!”
Devin Donovan, though temperamental, realized that since General Cruz would not help and had instead broken his limbs, he would no longer grovel.
If offended, so be it; death was not to be feared.
“Help you?” General Cruz was so angry he nearly spat blood, and with a violent slap, he shouted:
“Are you still clueless about how terrifying Mr. Clark is?”
“Just yesterday, he annihilated over a thousand people from the Eight Extremities School. Do you want your Crimson Dragon Gang to meet the same fate?”
Thunder roared from the heavens.
Everyone shuddered to their core, nearly losing their souls in fright.
The massacre at Cloudgate Mountain was Flynn’s doing?!
The storm raged, the earth split.
Stars dimmed, the sun and moon darkened!
A single man killed a thousand, simply ascending step by step, without using any technique, exploding all living beings within a hundred meters into pulp!
“How could he…” Devin Donovan looked at Flynn, fear replacing his pain, his soul nearly shattered, his eyes dim.
Now Flynn seemed a divine being descended from the heavens, a mere glance enough to obliterate him!
How could Devin Donovan not be terrified?
Danna Mcguire and the others were utterly petrified; Flynn had just said he would knock out their teeth, and it seemed they couldn’t escape their fate today.
They had defied Flynn three times, each time unrepentantly, but this time they were thoroughly subdued.
Unfortunately, it was all too late.
All that awaited them was the loss of their teeth, their once proud faces deformed, never to return to their former allure, never to attract the wealthy again.
Amidst the crying, a pungent smell of urine rose; Danna Mcguire and the others had wet themselves in terror…
