In an instant, Lysander Frost’s face turned red. A sense of mortal dread swiftly overwhelmed him. Desperately, Lysander Frost pleaded, “Your Highness, spare my life!”
Daniel Williams, with a cold expression, said, “Remember, you better behave yourself in front of me! Otherwise, even the Frost family is nothing but a fart before me, and killing you would be as easy as squashing an ant.”

Anxious, Esther asked, “Did they kidnap my mom for money? I’m willing to pay them any amount!”
Chris shook his head, “These people didn’t kidnap your mom for money. Don’t worry, I’m sure now that your mom is safe!”
As Chris was about to board the plane, his phone suddenly rang. Picking up, Chris saw it was an unknown number. Just after he answered, a voice altered by a voice changer said, “Is this Chris?” Chris responded coldly, “Who are you?”
“Don’t worry about who I am. Just know that your mother-in-law is in my hands. If you want to save her, you must do as I say.”
“What exactly do you want?”
“It’s simple, head to the outskirts of Middleton.”
With that, the caller hung up. Esther, anxious, asked, “Dear, what did they say? Why did they kidnap my mom?” Chris, with a look of remorse, said, “I’m sorry, this time it’s my fault your mom was taken.”
It was clear now that the reason Susan was kidnapped was entirely because of Chris. Chris was originally going back to the East Coast, but the kidnapper didn’t allow Chris to go back.
At that moment, Chris could guess that the real mastermind behind Susan’s kidnapping was in Middleton. Chris had many enemies, but recently he had only offended Blake Noire, Lysander Frost, and Spencer Sterling. Among these three, Spencer Sterling could be immediately ruled out, as he was the least daring and least likely to commit such an act. That left Blake Noire and Lysander Frost as suspects.
In Chris’s view, Blake Noire was the most likely suspect. After all, Blake Noire had just been forced to pay back ten billion dollars to Chris, effectively leaving him with nothing. After Susan was kidnapped, Esther had no mood to go to work. Seeing that he could not return to the East Coast, Chris drove Esther home first. After comforting Esther, Chris made a call to Bull.
“Bull, have you found any leads on my mother-in-law’s whereabouts?”
“No, Mr. Shelby, these people came prepared; they kidnapped your mother-in-law and then completely disappeared. However, I am certain they haven’t left the East Coast. Just give me some time, and I am sure I can find them!”
“I temporarily can’t come back. The mastermind behind this made a call to me, and I suspect this mastermind is in Middleton!”

“No need, just help me find my mother-in-law. I’ll handle the situation in Middleton myself.”
Chris wasn’t too worried about his own safety. After all, there were few left in this world who could truly harm him. After hanging up with Bull, Chris called Lynx to trace the origin of the call he had received earlier. Soon after, Lynx called back.
“Boss, I’ve found out that the call to your phone came from someone in Middleton, but I haven’t pinpointed the exact location yet.”
Chris nodded, “Alright! Don’t worry about my end for now, just focus on locating that suspicious call.”

As time ticked by, both Chris and Esther were extremely worried. Since the previous call from the mastermind, there had been no further news. Meanwhile, Bull had mobilized everyone at East Coast Securities to look for Susan. However, Susan seemed to have completely vanished without a trace. Unless the kidnappers could turn invisible, it was unlikely they could avoid so many cameras. Since the implementation of SkyNet, almost every major city’s streets and alleys had been equipped with cameras, so if the kidnappers tried to take Susan out of the area, they would definitely leave some clues.
Ding-a-ling! Just then, Chris’s phone rang again. His face darkened as he answered, “What exactly do you want before you’ll release my mother-in-law?” The person on the other end sneered, “Heh, why the rush?” Chris clenched his teeth and warned, “I advise you not to test my limits, or I won’t let you off!”
