“Mrs. Hogan!” Queena smiled, “It’s an honor to have you here.” On such an occasion, it was inappropriate to address Lucille by her position.
Lucille smiled charmingly, flicked her long hair, and signaled her assistant to hand over a red envelope to the Hipps Family before speaking, “Old Mrs. Hipps, you’re too kind. How could I miss Clare’s wedding?”
As she spoke, she glanced at Clare, who was greeting other guests. “My daughter Sabrina’s birthday is in a few days. I hope you can honor us with your presence then.”
Queena naturally wouldn’t refuse in person, “Of course.”
The auspicious hour had arrived.
The sacred wedding march began to play.
Everyone watched as a golden couple slowly walked down the red carpet towards their happy future.
The entire hotel was decorated luxuriously and filled with a romantic and beautiful atmosphere.
Colorful balloons and streamers floated in the air, creating a joyful scene.
“Clare! You scoundrel! You got me pregnant, and now you’re marrying another woman. How can you live with yourself?”
A sudden voice exploded at the wedding, drawing all the guests’ attention to a woman with a protruding belly.
Rachael, supporting her waist with one hand and pointing at the handsome Clare on stage with the other, trembled with anger.
The music stopped abruptly, and the noisy banquet hall fell silent.
Mollie lifted her veil and stared at Rachael and her swollen belly in shock.
She looked at Clare in disbelief, “Husband, who is this woman? What’s going on?”
The guests began to murmur among themselves, “Wasn’t Clare known for avoiding women before he met Mollie?”
“Where did this woman come from?”
“And she’s pregnant!”
Sylvia frowned slightly at the chaotic scene.
Queena’s face turned pale with anger. She shouted, “Where did this shrew come from? How dare you disrupt our Hipps Family wedding! Leave immediately!”
Old Mr. Gibson glared at Clare angrily, “What’s going on? Today is my precious granddaughter’s big day, and this happens. How are we supposed to face this?”
Mollie’s brothers couldn’t hold back and grabbed Clare by the collar, ready to hit him. “How dare you bully my sister! We don’t need a brother-in-law like you!”
Mollie quickly intervened, “No! Clare must be innocent.”
She turned to Rachael, “Who are you? Why are you doing this?”
“Heavens! The Hipps Family is bullying me! Guests, please help me get justice!” Rachael slapped her thigh and started wailing, “You can deny me, but how can you deny the child in my belly?”
She acted like a complete shrew, refusing to listen to reason.
The other members of the Hipps Family were equally shocked, “How could this happen?”
“Who knows? It’s probably blackmail!”
“She’s trying to latch onto our Hipps Family!”
Hearing the guests’ discussions, Rachael couldn’t help but smirk. Clare, let’s see how you handle this.
Clare remained silent on stage, his gaze turning cold as he stared at Rachael.
His expression was indifferent and chilly, with a hint of anger spreading through the air.
Rachael lifted her chin slightly and met Clare’s icy eyes.
Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked heartbroken. “Clare, have you forgotten what you said to me? You promised to take responsibility… Now I’m six months pregnant, and you’re marrying someone else. How can you do this to me? To our child? Are you going to abandon me after sleeping with me?”
Clare patted Mollie’s hand reassuringly. “Honey, do you trust me?”
Mollie’s eyes flickered for a moment before she nodded firmly. “I believe you’re not that kind of person. I believe you won’t betray me.”
Clare nodded back and slowly walked towards Rachael. His entire demeanor exuded hostility, making Rachael shiver involuntarily.
She couldn’t help but take a step back.
“You went through all this trouble to ruin my reputation and my wedding. Quite the effort.” Clare sneered coldly. “I don’t know you, and I’m certainly not the father of your child.”
Rachael immediately straightened her belly and almost cried out loud, “You’re shameless! You can pretend not to know me, but how can you deny our child… The child is innocent!”
She looked increasingly heartbroken as she spoke.
Clare’s lips curled into a faint smile that sent chills down everyone’s spine.
“So… You crashed my wedding because you want me to take responsibility?” Clare’s sharp gaze fell on Rachael. “Tell me then, how do you want me to take responsibility?”
“Clare, this child is yours, and you’re asking me?” Rachael still looked heartbroken. “I don’t care; you must marry me now.”
Mollie watched Clare and Rachael argue endlessly. She walked over to Clare and looked down at Rachael. “Today is my wedding with Clare. I don’t know why you’re ruining it, but I can assure you that Clare would never betray me. So please leave.”
“Leave? Do you even know whose child I’m carrying?” Rachael glared at her. “Who do you think you are? I got pregnant before you!”
Mollie suppressed her anger. If it weren’t for the many guests present, she would have slapped Rachael and told her to get lost. But now she had to speak politely despite her rage.
“You say that child is Clare’s. Do you have any proof?”
“I! I! I… Here are the records of us checking into a hotel together!” Rachael pulled out a piece of paper from her pocket showing hotel check-in records under Clare and Rachael’s names.
Seeing these records, the guests were stunned and started discussing again.
“Oh my God, could Clare really be a scoundrel?”
“Tsk tsk tsk, isn’t that woman a well-known socialite?”
“She seems to be a top hostess at nightclubs.”
Some guests recognized Rachael’s identity.
“Even if you’re going to frame someone, at least do it convincingly,” Clare’s sharp eyes fixed on Rachael. He looked at her high heels and then at her swollen belly.
With a swift move, Clare reached for Rachael’s belly. She couldn’t dodge in time and was caught by him.
A white cushion was pulled out from under her clothes.
Clare casually tossed it aside and held it up in front of Rachael’s face. “So this is your six-month pregnancy?”
Everyone was once again shocked.
“Oh my God! Fake pregnancy!”
“Is this a joke? Ridiculous.”
Mollie’s eyes darkened when she saw the cushion. “You really went all out to frame my husband with a fake pregnancy. What’s your motive?”
“No motive, just want Clare to marry me!” Rachael said with a forced smile. “After all, I have so many hotel records. Even if I’m not pregnant today, I might be someday.”
“Those records are obviously fake.” Clare had no patience left for her nonsense. “I don’t care what your motive is-money or targeting my Hipps Family-trying to make headlines with scandals doesn’t matter.”
This woman faked a pregnancy and publicly demanded he take responsibility at his wedding; it was disgusting.
Rachael didn’t expect Clare to see through her so quickly. She panicked.
This wasn’t part of the plan.
She couldn’t help but curse loudly, “Clare, you scoundrel! You abandoned me… How could I be so unlucky… Stuck with a scoundrel like you…”
Queena’s anger surged within her chest. “You shameless woman! How dare you come here and falsely accuse my son and cause such chaos at our wedding! You must apologize to our Hipps Family!”
Rachael rolled her eyes. “I’m the victim here! Your Hipps Family is rich and powerful but bullying me… You must give me an explanation or I won’t leave…”
Sylvia couldn’t help but laugh at how ridiculous Rachael was acting like a clown. She glanced at some media present. “See that? Your little drama is probably already making headlines. For troublemakers like you, there’s only one outcome.”
Her eyes were cold and sharp, making Rachael freeze for a moment. What a beautiful woman! Her cold aura was even more intense than Clare’s earlier.
Rachael was startled before two men in black came over and dragged her away.
She immediately started struggling. “Let go of me… Let go of me!”
Sylvia’s expression remained cold. “Take her to the lounge.”
After speaking, she turned back to the Hipps Family guests with an apologetic smile. “Sorry for the disturbance.” She waved her hand, and some subordinates handed out red envelopes to the media reporters present.
“We hope you will report the truth and clarify things for our Hipps Family.”
The reporters had already sent out the earlier scene trying to grab attention. But now receiving Sylvia’s generous red envelopes, they all assured her one by one, “Miss Andrews, don’t worry.”
“We’ll make sure everything is clear. We can’t ruin such a beautiful wedding.”
Sylvia nodded in satisfaction. “Thank you all.”
After the media reported it accurately, most of the guests who were close friends with the Hipps Family wouldn’t spread rumors either.
