In past competitions, the vampire families fought fiercely to secure representation, often ending up severely weakened, only for the wizards to take advantage in the end.
Fred’s words hit a sore spot for the vampires, so his suggestion intrigued the princes of the various families.
After a moment of silence, Prince Fred grew impatient and asked, “Vampire brothers, do any of you have opinions on my proposal?”
Prince Lance, after consulting with the other three neutral princes, finally spoke up, “The Neutral Ground faction has no objections to Prince Fred’s proposal.”
The Neutral Ground faction wasn’t as strong as The Devil’s Party or The Covenant. For them, securing a representative spot without fighting was a no-brainer.
Following Lance’s lead, Cody and the other princes also agreed, “We accept Prince Fred’s proposal.”
Seeing both Lance and Cody agree, Fred felt relieved and said happily, “Vampires can only become stronger by uniting closely!”
“Now, let me announce The Covenant’s representative!”
Fred paused for effect, then raised his voice and declared proudly, “The representative is me!”
This announcement was expected by both The Devil’s Party and The Neutral Ground faction since Fred was the strongest in The Covenant.
Prince Lance of the neutral faction looked around and said, “Prince Amos of The Sacs, you’re one of the top fighters in our faction. You’ll represent us. Any objections?”
“No objections,” the vampires of The Neutral Ground faction agreed.
Prince Amos stood up excitedly, “Thank you all for your trust. I won’t let you down!”
Prince Fred then turned to The Devil’s Party and asked, “Prince Cody, who will be your representative?”
Prince Cody looked conflicted as he scanned his group, “Brothers of The Devil’s Party, who do you think should be our representative?”
An elder from The Devil’s Party stood up and said, “I believe Prince Cody is the best choice.”
“I agree,” another prince chimed in.
Prince Caspian of the Rut family stood up and said, “Let’s go with Prince Cody!”
Surprised and grateful for Caspian’s support, Prince Cody said, “Thank you for your trust!”
Prince Devon, who had been silent until now, stood up and said, “I have a different opinion!”
Devon’s voice wasn’t loud but it drew everyone’s attention.
Prince Cody forced a smile and asked, “Brother Devon, what do you think?”
Ignoring Cody, Devon scanned the room and declared, “We don’t need to make this so complicated. I think we should have just one representative for all thirteen vampire clans. Of course, this representative must be strong enough.”
A vampire sneered sarcastically, “You mean yourself?”
“Of course not,” Devon replied calmly. “This person is a friend of mine-a friend to all vampires.”
Devon then turned to look at Leo.
Leo nodded slightly and stepped forward.
All eyes were on Leo.
After a brief silence, the room erupted in laughter.
“A mere count!”
“Prince Devon thinks he can represent all thirteen clans? That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard all year.”
“I can’t even sense his dark power. He’s pathetically weak.”
The room filled with mocking voices.
Annoyed, Prince Cody thought Devon was playing a joke on him and sneered, “Devon, are you trying to make a fool of us?”
Devon smiled coldly without responding.
Leo knew it was his time to shine. He raised his head proudly and said, “If anyone doubts me, feel free to challenge me!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Leo unleashed his powerful aura. The room felt like it was under several Gs of gravity, making the vampires uncomfortable.
The vampires’ faces changed dramatically at the display of power.
Soon, a vampire screamed sharply, “He’s human! He’s human!!”
With that scream, all vampires except those from House Lessane stood up, looking tense and ready for battle.
Prince Cody was furious, his eyes glowing red as he demanded, “Devon, how dare you bring a human here? What are you up to!?”
After a moment of shock, Prince Fred appeared in front of Leo like a ghost and asked suspiciously, “Who are you really?”
“Your Highness, have you forgotten me so soon?” Leo removed his black robe.
“You’re… Leo Bloomer!?” Fred exclaimed in shock upon seeing Leo’s face.
As the oppressive aura lessened, the vampires began shouting, “Let’s kill this human together!”
Prince Fred quickly shouted them down, “Quiet! Do you know who he is? He’s Leo from Atraria. He defeated Cedric!”
At the mention of Cedric’s defeat, the vampires gasped in shock and their faces changed again. No one dared to move.
Many of the princes and dukes present had risen to their positions because Cedric had killed their predecessors.
Knowing how formidable Leo was, Prince Fred asked politely, “Mr. Bloomer, why are you here?”
With a smile, Leo replied, “I’m interested in becoming the leader of The Dark Alliance. I want to represent the vampires.”
Fred was stunned by Leo’s response. “Mr. Bloomer, you must be joking. You’re not even a vampire.”
Still smiling, Leo replied, “In the dark world, might makes right. I may not be a vampire, but I will be the leader of The Dark Alliance!”
