After Angus stopped his attack, the seal’s counterattack also ceased, and the runes on the stone door dimmed once more.
This situation left Leo and the vampires a bit surprised; they hadn’t expected the seal on the stone door to be this strong.
Prince Devon, unwilling to accept this, stepped forward and said, “Master, if the seal is this strong, it means whatever’s inside must be incredibly valuable. Please, let me try.”
Leo nodded, “Be careful.”
Prince Devon cautiously approached the stone door, muttering some incantations under his breath before suddenly slamming his hands against it.
With a thunderous boom, the stone door began to tremble violently again.
Just like before, the seal on the stone door lit up, and a wave of pale golden light surged out, instantly engulfing Devon.
With a scream, Devon turned into a cloud of black mist and fled from the range of the pale golden light.
At this point, Devon was covered in white smoke, his cloak singed and looking quite disheveled.
Prince Devon looked at Leo with a face full of shame and said, “Master, please forgive my incompetence.”
Leo’s face was serious as he looked at the seal on the stone door. He hadn’t expected this seemingly simple seal to repel even a vampire prince so easily.
Elder Archibald, who had been deep in thought, spoke up: “Master, I can sense something strange about this seal.”
“Strange? What do you mean?” Leo asked curiously.
“I think this seal might be part of an array. The power of the seal likely comes from whatever it’s protecting,” Elder Archibald speculated.
Elder Archibald’s thoughts aligned with Leo’s own suspicions.
“Step back and let me handle this! I want to see just how strong this seal is!” Leo said as he strode up to the stone door.
Standing before the stone door, Leo gathered his Spiritual Power and with a deep shout, punched towards it.
Although Leo’s right fist didn’t physically hit the stone door, it caused a resounding boom. The entire cave began to shake as if an earthquake had struck, with countless rocks falling from above.
The seal on the stone door lit up again, and an incredibly terrifying force burst out from it, completely enveloping Leo.
A dreadful tearing sensation spread through Leo’s body as the force from the stone door seemed intent on ripping him apart.
“Break for me!” Leo roared, unleashing his full strength.
With another thunderous boom, the cave stopped shaking. Three seconds later, the stone door shattered.
Seeing this, the vampires were overjoyed.
Leo withdrew his right hand and let out a long breath before striding through the now-open doorway.
The vampires quickly followed.
Inside was a large stone chamber. On either side were some decayed wooden chests covered in thick layers of dust, indicating they had been sealed for a very long time.
“Open the chests,” Leo ordered.
The vampires stepped forward and each reached out to open the long-sealed wooden chests.
Due to their age, the chests crumbled at a touch, spilling their contents onto the floor.
Inside were various treasures-gold, silver, diamond-encrusted jewelry, silverware, and more.
Elder Archibald inspected them carefully and said, “Master, something’s not right.”
“What’s wrong?” Leo asked, puzzled.
Elder Archibald mused, “The treasures outside have a typical Tribes of Judah style and should be King Solomon’s legendary treasure.”
“But these treasures have a different style-typical Arabian. There’s also a significant time gap between these two sets of treasures.”
Hearing Elder Archibald’s analysis made Leo feel something was indeed off.
Finding two different styles of treasure in the same place and from different periods was odd.
Suddenly, Elder Archibald seemed to realize something and exclaimed excitedly, “Master, I know whose treasure this is!”
“Whose?”
“It’s King Altas III of Nabataea!” Elder Archibald declared confidently.
Seeing Leo and Prince Devon still confused, Elder Archibald explained, “Legend has it that when King Altas III died, he left behind a vast treasure that no one ever found. I suspect this is that treasure.”
Finding one treasure and getting two made Leo feel incredibly lucky.
Despite his excitement, Leo hadn’t forgotten about The Ark of the Covenant and asked, “Have you found The Ark of the Covenant?”
Duke Aubrey pointed ahead and said, “Master, it should be that.”
Leo followed Duke Aubrey’s direction and saw a small altar with a rectangular chest about one meter long and half a meter wide on top of it.
The chest was covered in dust and cobwebs, looking quite unremarkable.
However, under the firelight, Leo could faintly see a golden hue beneath the dust.
Leo’s eyes gleamed as he quickly walked up to the altar.
With a wave of his right hand, a gust of wind blew away the dust on the chest’s surface, revealing its pure gold color.
The images of twelve angels were vividly carved around the chest, reflecting a golden glow that made it look incredibly sacred and solemn.
Leo could faintly sense immense power within The Ark of the Covenant.
Suppressing his excitement, Leo reached out his hands to open it.
At that moment, Prince Devon suddenly said, “Master, wait!”
“What is it?” Leo glanced at Prince Devon.
“Legend has it that The Ark of the Covenant holds immense holy power. You must be careful when opening it,” Prince Devon said respectfully. “Also, please allow us to step back. The holy power could harm us greatly.”
Leo nodded in understanding.
