With a sly smile spreading across his face, the first guard lifted his whip.
Drake screamed as the lash hit his back with a sickening crunch, his body trembling with pain and suffering.
Drake’s eyes widened in fear as the second guard, lacking patience, bent and picked up a chain. He shifted back and begged, but his pleas were met with silence.
With its metal links rattling, the second guard swung the chain and encircled Drake’s waist.
A violent yank tightened the chain, ripping a portion of his skin.
” Ahhhhhhh!” He threw his head back, his body trembling from the pain that was radiating from his veins.
Tears streamed down his cheeks like a dam, causing his eyes to become heavy and blurry.
“Are you in tears?” The third guard posed the question, more in jest than out of compassion.
Drake merely whimpered silently in response.
The multiple lashes fluttered quickly as the third guard whip cut through the air and struck Drake’s flesh deep.
Drake’s body jerked in pain as his screams echoed through the prison room.
The handle was rolled around the hand of the second guard with the chain until it was sufficiently short. He turned his hand in the air, released the chain on Drake’s shoulder, and yanked it off forcefully.
With his chest heaving from ragged breaths, Drake’s back sagged against the chilly wall.
Each breath sent waves of pain through his body, causing his body to tremble and a sound to erupt from his throat that was both human and animalistic.
His lungs burn as he struggles to breathe, causing his cramped cage to expand. The second guard struck his ribcage with the chains, causing him to scream heartily.
“Please, just stop.” His eyes flickered with pain as he stammered.
“Are you prepared to speak?” After bending over and picking up the thorn-laced whip that was on the ground, the first guard asked.
“Please, don’t,” Beta Drake muttered as his eyes widened in shock, and he shook his head in agony.
The first guard lifted the thorny whip, a ruthless smile spreading across his lip.
Drake’s head jerked up, his pupils widening in horror as his gaze landed on the whip.
He pleaded, choking on his tears, “No.. Pl.”
Drake felt the thorns of the whip pierce his skin as it fell on his shoulder.
As the guard pulled his flesh and yanked the thorn-laced whip off his shoulder, a blood-curling scream echoed from his throat.
Blood was dripping from his ripped flesh as his body arched and trembled in agony.
He was trembling violently, and the cold sensation of the liquid running down his skin only made him more terrified.
The pain was consuming Drake, and his strength and confidence were failing him, causing his vision to become blurry.
Having trouble forming a speech, he bit his lips tightly.
“Go bring those metallic balls; I think we should increase the torture.” His voice instantly came back to him as he heard one of the guards speak.
“Stop!” he screamed, his voice breaking.
Abruptly, the sound of Luna Mavana’s footsteps reverberated beyond the cell.
“Are you prepared to reveal the truth?” With her figure emerging, she asked.
“I am… I am prepared.” As soon as the first guard raised the thorny whip, he muttered and closed his eyes.
Luna Mavana held up one hand and said, “If he does not cooperate, I will call for your presence, so you can lurk around outside the prison room.” When she said that, the three guards bowed and then carefully left the prison room using their instruments.
As she wandered the prison room, she teasingly said, “You look dead.”
“The council of elders summoned Luna Lorienta after she was accused of cheating and demanded that her title be revoked, but Alpha Carlos disagreed.” He paused, taking deep breaths before continuing.
“Then, to get the Alpha to agree to take away her title, the crime elder brought up the matter of her murder in addition to her cheating crime.” He paused, slowly lifting his head until his eyes met Luna Mavana’s, who was glaring at him.
Unexpectedly, he bowed his head and went on, “After a lot of discussions, the crime elder disclosed that she killed her stepfather, Beta Fae.”
“I was not wrong, after all; my instincts told me my father had been murdered. Why, though? I mean, my father loved both of us equally, even though her hatred for me is unimaginable, and she should not have murdered our father.” Luna Mavana wept, fumbling with her hair in annoyance and rage.
“What punishment did she receive? In Crest Pack, murder is a serious and unforgivable crime. What about my mother?” Luna Mavana inquired.
” The tables were turned. Aurora rushed in and said it was for the pack’s protection. Ryan, a witness she called, stated that your father was attempting to deceive the deceased Alpha by claiming that he intended to sell our pack out. They said that Luna Lorienta killed him for that reason-to protect our pack. The other warriors also killed your mother because they thought they were on the same side,” Beta Drake revealed, his voice hoarse and pale lips trembling.
Luna Mavana’s face grew serious, her eyes burning with rage.
She felt deceived because Ryan was one of her father’s most trusted guards.
It ended with betrayal, even though he trusted him with his life.
“How could they?” She held her hair in anger and spat, venom leaking from her voice.
“Oh,” Her body jerked as she screamed, her emotions bare and unfiltered.
“He was fucking loyal to that pack, and he loved and cherished both me and my stepsister. He never once expressed animosity toward her or her mother. How did it end? Her stupid daughter murdered my father, and the ungrateful warriors murdered my mother, who would give her life for the safety of the pack.” She paused, her voice cracking as pain etched on her face.
” One of his most trusted guards betrayed him. Even if everyone turned against the Crest pack, Beta Fae would never abandon it; he loved the pack and its members with everything he had.” She exclaimed, tears streaming down her cheeks as her own body boiled with rage.
Drake’s eyes fell, regret, shame, and betrayal etched on his face. “I am sorry,” he said, understanding Luna Mavana’s laments.
“I will not spare any of them, and I will not stop until I have dismembered every part of their body until I have drained them of the blood and water that is flowing through them.” Her determination and resentment were evident in her glares as she vowed.
Her gaze strayed to the entrance, and she started to approach it but was stopped by the three guards who hurried in, their faces filled with tears and empathy.
“What is the issue?” Confusion gripped her as she asked.
“We are so sorry, Alpha… Alpha Damian has just been pronounced dead,” they all said at once.
Luna Mavana stayed fixed to her spot, unable to take in the news, and panicked.
“Are you kidding me?” She looked around nervously and smiled.
“We sincerely apologize. The pack members have assembled at the entrance, and the elders are about to begin the farewell speech.”
