Chapter 89

Book:Alpha Arthur, She is mine Published:2024-11-9

Beta Bronson;
Crazy! Fucking…crazy! This can’t be true right? I’m not holding Malicia in my arms and she just stops breathing? No, this is not happening. Someone, please wake me up.
How did it happen so fast? What…? Oh, Goddess!
Get a hold of yourself, Bronson, and do something. My mind pricks, bringing me back to my senses. Malicia. She is bleeding and I need to stop her bleeding. She will probably wake up. I-I can save her, right?
My hands press hard on her stabbed wound, trying to stop the bleeding. Why is her body getting cold, and she is no longer breathing? “Someone fucking help out here!” I roar in anger to the fools who all stand, watching the scene in excitement.
“Beta Bronson, step away or I will cut off your head together with hers,” Alpha Drakon howls, raising his sword.
I wrap my arms around Malicia, my body shielding her from him.
“Step away right this moment, or I will forget that you are a Beta,” Alpha Drakon warns.
But I hold tightly onto Malicia, not letting go. She has gone through enough, and I can’t let him behead her. The torture and punishment they’ve subjected her to is more than enough. And she is gone. At least, let me have the privilege of burying her body intact.
This is the only thing I can fight for right now.
I hear Alpha Drakon roar, and I shut my eyes because I know what is to come. His sword. It’s about to descend. But it will have to go through me before getting to my precious Malicia.
Just when my mind is already made up and my body ready to receive the cut of his sword, I hear the voice of Alpha Blade, intervening. And my body falls in relief.
So he finally decided to come after refusing. He is truly my best friend and my Alpha.
“Enough, Alpha Drakon. You’ve done a lot of destruction to the girl. She is gone. What more do you want?” Alpha Blade stands right in front of me, shielding me. He is the only one who can speak against this injustice or stop Alpha Drakon.
I’m just a Beta and I hold no right in the presence of an Alpha. Going against an Alpha is treason, and it’s the fastest way to get me beheaded. I know the laws and this is why I’m unable to speak.
“I’m yet to pass my complete judgment on the girl. I must take her head back to my pack, and I’m ready to kill anyone who stands in my way. I don’t care who you are,” Alpha Drakon groans.
“Because you are emotional, you chose to break the rules. Seems you’ve forgotten no Alpha has the right to carry out judgment in the pack of another Alpha without a verdict. You have to stop now or you face the law. I believe you don’t want your people to also lose their Alpha, the same way they lost their Princess.”
“Alpha Blade!!!” Alpha Drakon growls, his hand holding up in the air, vibrating hard.
“That is the law,” Alpha Blade reminds him.
“I will make you pay for this. I promise you,” Alpha Drakon spits on the floor and storms away. His men follow behind him.
“Malicia,” I raise her face a little to feel her nostrils. She isn’t breathing. She isn’t fucking breathing.
“How is she, Bronson? Any hope?” Alpha Blade questions me, helping me unlock the chains wrapped around her hands. He frees her hands and she falls right into my body.
Holding her tightly, “I don’t know. I’m fucking scared. I don’t know if she still has a chance of survival. She has lost so much blood.”
“Sister!!” Her brothers scream, rushing forward. I noticed there is an old omega with them. “Beta Bronson, please let’s take her out of here. She needs to be treated by her,” one of Malicia’s brothers points at the old lady behind them.
“We can’t just move her. The injury on her stomach is too deep, and she is bleeding hard,” my palm is still holding her wound.
The old lady walks forward, placing her hand on Malicia’s wound from behind. She shuts her eyes for a while and I notice Malicia’s bleeding seizes. But the old lady had blood dripping from her nostrils.
She wipes the blood, “You can bring her,” the old lady softly speaks.
I take off my shirt and cover it around Malicia’s body before picking her up in my arms. The old lady and Malicia’s brothers lead the way through the crowd.
Alpha Blade and I follow suit.
I’m glad I arrived just in time to stop Alpha Drakon from causing more damage to Malicia. All thanks to Ryder who had informed Alpha Blade and me about what was going on.
When I heard Princess Veronica was dead and killed by a Delta she-wolf, I felt my heart skip in fear. Appears I knew the incident would be connected to Malicia even before hearing the full story.
I didn’t know Princess Veronica was Alpha Arthur’s fated mate. The more Ryder explained things to me the more I felt uneasy within. Something wasn’t sitting right, and I was yet to figure it out. Not until Ryder mentioned Malicia that I understood why I was scared.
He informed us that Malicia had stolen Princess Veronica’s jewelry and was arrested. In the quest of Princess Veronica trying to have a word with Malicia, she gets attacked and is killed by Malicia.
The whole shit didn’t make any sense to me. But I had to plead with Alpha Blade to return with me to the NightShade Pack. I knew once this news got to the RedMoon Pack, Alpha Drakon would have Malicia humiliated and beheaded.
The matter was a very sensitive one.
The only person who could stop Alpha Drakon was an Alpha. That was my reason for requesting that Alpha Blade tag along with me. But he told me it won’t be possible.
There was a lot going on in our pack and he couldn’t leave. I knew I couldn’t stop Alpha Drakon but I still needed to do something. I can’t let Malicia go through pain for a crime she didn’t commit.
I was certain she was innocent because the story made no sense to me. First, Malicia wasn’t a greedy girl, and she was the first lady I’d met who was content with the little she had. Second, she is a Delta wolf. A Delta wolf doesn’t have such strength over an Alpha wolf, unless the Delta wolf is a warrior. Malicia wasn’t.
For these reasons, I knew it was all a false accusation. But who accused her and why? And if Malicia didn’t kill Princess Veronica, then who did? I will eventually get to the root of this but right now, my main focus is Malicia.
I pray she isn’t gone for real.
We all arrived in front of a wooden house after a little drive. The old lady directed me to bring Malicia inside, and lay her on a bed. Then she ordered everyone to wait outside.
With the multi-colour of gray, black, and amber of the old lady’s eyes, I knew she was a gifted she-wolf; healer. Every pack has theirs, and they only make use of the ability when they are given an order by their Alphas.
Since she chooses to get involved with Malicia, then Alpha Arthur must have given the order to her. Probably before he left, or he knew what was going on.
“Why happened to your sister,” Alpha Blade asked one of Malicia’s brothers.
“Ben and I came back from an errand and heard she had been ordered by Luna Chloe to be thrown into a dungeon. We tried to see her but were restricted. None of the servants agreed to speak to us about what truly transpired. After a few more hours, we heard the strange news that our sister murdered a Princess, and judgment will be carried out.
We know she is innocent but there is no way to prove it. Luna Chloe ordered that we should be locked indoors but we managed to break our way out of the room.
Luckily, on our way to the square, we met the healer, and she told us she was given an order to protect us. But she didn’t mention who gave her the order,” the young man explains.
“When did Chloe start giving orders in the mansion? What about Beta Loki? Where is he?” Alpha Blade asks.
“We don’t know what’s going on with him. But he allows her to carry out orders. She has even taken the position of Alpha Arthur, and most of the time sits on his throne.”
“What!? I voice out in shock.
This is a taboo. Where did Luna Chloe get such audacity? What’s going on with Loki that he allows all these to happen before his eyes?
“I need to speak with Alpha Arthur over the phone. The bast…” Alpha Blade halts his words. I could tell he wanted to speak a curse word but because of Malicia’s siblings, he held back himself.
Alpha Blade pulls out his phone and moves to the side. I know he is trying to reach Alpha Arthur. I pray Alpha Arthur picks up. He’s the only one who can stop Luna Chloe’s madness. And he has to intervene fast before she causes more damage to his pack.
Damages that his pack will never recover from for ages.
