It must be said, with the influence that W Group wields in the business world, it would be easy for them to blacklist a company like Lion.
“Mr. Walters isn’t the type of man who can’t handle losing, is he?”
“…He really can’t afford to lose, Rosalind.”

After making the fourth call to Johnny, who still didn’t answer, Sirena finally had to accept the reality that she was missing her right-hand man.
Without Johnny as her spy close to Ulric, things were quite troublesome.
Sitting on the sofa in her hotel room, Sirena meticulously considered where to start investigating Ulric’s sudden marriage announcement!
It was so sudden that even his parents didn’t know who the bride was, and since she couldn’t get any useful information from Johnny, she would have to rely on herself.
Suddenly, her phone, lying beside her, rang.
Barefoot, Sirena walked over and saw it was Kennard calling. She frowned in annoyance but answered anyway.
“Dad.”
“I heard from your mom that you’ve returned to the country? Where are you? I want to see you!”
“I’m really busy with work right now, I don’t have much time. I’ll contact you when I’m free.”
As Sirena was about to hang up, Kennard quickly said, “Ah, I was thinking of arranging a meeting with you and Rosalind. After all, you sisters share blood. Her mother is dead, and in this world, it’s just me, your father, and you, her sister. My health hasn’t been good lately, I’m getting old, and who knows when I’ll be gone. I’d like you two to reconcile and not let the past issues of our generation affect you.”
Rosalind?
“Are you two in contact?”
“She won’t contact me, but I visited her mother’s grave and got her current phone number!”
Sirena’s eyes lit up, “Quick, tell me!”
To avoid Kennard’s suspicions, she added with a laugh, “You’re right, Dad, we sisters should get along. Although she took Ulric from me and I was angry, we are still sisters. I want to mend our relationship.”
“Hmm, Rosalind has her mother’s stubbornness, always too proud to bow. I didn’t like her as a daughter for that reason! But I’ve been thinking a lot lately, and after all, she carries my blood and the Ruell family name. I have to acknowledge her as my daughter.”
“Don’t worry, I can forgive what she did before.”
Kennard suddenly said, “By the way, I’ve married your mother officially now! You should find some time to change your surname too, to Ruell, as it was your mother’s wish.”
Sirena’s mouth twitched into a smile, “I’ll find the time.”
Growing up, Sirena dreaded when classmates and friends would ask why she shared her mother’s surname because she couldn’t explain it.
She had always hoped to share a surname with her father, like other children! But Kennard could not provide that; he only made her mother endure, saying Eva would die soon.
That endurance lasted decades.
Now they wanted her to change her surname, but she was no longer interested.
Did Sirena not understand Kennard’s calculation? It was nothing but thinking she could marry into the Walters family and later leverage their influence, cozying up for his own benefit.
Ha.
All just self-serving people.
After hanging up, Kennard sent Rosalind’s phone number.
Sirena smiled.
It seemed that fortune was still on her side, giving her a lead so soon.
