Tom Fritz curled his lips into a smile and presented a jewelry box to the girl. “Pick a necklace you like.”
Agnes glanced at him before carefully selecting one. She was helping him, so she had to take it seriously.
Artists have a good eye; she picked one that perfectly matched her dress. Even the designer praised her taste.
After complimenting Agnes’s taste, the designer also praised Mr. Fritz for his choice in people, calling them a match made in heaven.
Agnes felt slightly uncomfortable but still smiled and accepted this relationship.
Wearing a black square-neck dress, Agnes looked lively and beautiful. After Tom personally put the necklace on her, she twirled in front of him. “How do I look? Satisfied with this creation?”
“Very beautiful.”
The man’s eyes showed affection, and he did not hold back his praise. He then extended his hand like a gentleman.
Agnes hesitated slightly but, under the watchful eyes of the makeup artist and designer, placed her hand in his palm.
Tom pulled her close and glanced at her before saying to the others in the store, “Thank you for your hard work. I’ll have Jeffery come by to settle the bill.”
“Alright, Mr. Fritz, take care.”
With that, Tom left the high-end custom shop with Agnes.
In the slowly moving Volvo, the beautiful Agnes sat in the passenger seat. The breeze coming through the window played with her hair.
She looked ahead somewhat nervously, feeling her heart race again.
For some reason, she kept recalling the moment he extended his hand to her in the store and how he led her out.
His hand was so warm and strong.
As she thought about it, she felt her cheeks heat up.
Taking a deep breath, she tried to clear her mind and turned to look at him. “Renting dresses and necklaces from her must be expensive, right?”
“It’s not rented,” Tom Fritz replied. “I bought it.”
“Bought it?”
“Yes, it suits you perfectly. It’s yours now.”
A custom designer piece! One of a kind! Agnes knew the price; this dress alone would cost at least six figures.
Sensing her surprised gaze, Tom Fritz turned to look at her while driving. Their eyes met.
He smiled lightly. “What? You helped me so much; do you think I’d let you wear something rented?”
“I’ll return it after wearing it this once,” she quickly said, looking away.
Tom Fritz calmly took her hand and interlocked their fingers.
Agnes didn’t turn back; she leaned against the seat, feeling slightly stiff and blank for a few seconds.
“If we’re going to act, we should make it convincing,” Tom said while steering with one hand. “If holding hands is this awkward, my grandmother won’t believe I have a girlfriend.”
Hearing this, Agnes didn’t overthink it; her erratic heartbeat calmed down again.
“I’m taking you somewhere now,” Tom said gently, glancing at her. “Is that okay?”
“Where?” She turned to look at him again; their eyes met once more.
Tom shared his thoughts. “We have two hours before dinner. I’ll take you to a nearby hidden gem with lots of flowers and some animals. You can get close to them amidst a sea of flowers; I think you’ll like it.”
Hearing this made Agnes feel momentarily dazed.
Tom quickly clarified to avoid any misunderstanding. “Think of it as bonding time and relaxing.”
His smile was so warm and charming when he smiled.
