The elders’ stomping and shuffling footsteps filled the air as they hurried towards the meeting room, causing pandemonium to break out amongst them.
The emphasis on Alpha Carlos’ rage in the message that was conveyed to the Elders caused tension in them, forcing them to gather themselves as soon as they entered the meeting room.
As they waited for their Alpha to arrive, each of them took a seat at their assigned table and set their staff next to their chairs.
In an attempt to keep his cool and prevent Alpha Carlos from becoming even more enraged, Beta Drake whispered, “The Elders are already in the meeting room, Alpha. They are waiting.” However, his silence was insufficient to protect him from the aggression.
Alpha Carlos snapped his head towards his Beta, he took slow strides towards him with his body shivering in rage.
” The Elders are already in the meeting room, and they are waiting? Who the fuck are they to claim they are waiting for me? Even if I tell them to stay in the meeting room until dawn before I visit them, I am capable.” “I, Alpha Carlos of Crest Pack, am capable of doing anything,” he yelled, his anger loud enough to collapse a building, which shook Beta Drake.
“I apologize for my stupid choice of words, Alpha; I was not thinking straight.” Beta Drake begged, wondering what was making him so angry. Even the spy who came to inform him of Alpha Carlos’ rage did not reveal what had occurred.
” That fucking piece of shit! Breaking the deal was not enough for him; he still dared to keep that traitor in his pack,” Alpha Carlos said through gritted teeth.
Beta Drake became confused as his brain refused to process what he had heard.
“Who the hell is he talking about?” Beta Drake muttered underneath, perplexed and dumbfounded.
“Let us go to the meeting room, I have an announcement to make,” Alpha Carlos said in a surprisingly calm tone. His sudden switch from enraged to calmness was a source of concern for Beta Drake, but with the popular saying, “Some things are best left untagged.” He shoved it off and nodded, allowing Alpha Carlos to exit before him.
The rowdy meeting room fell silent as if it was a planned act by everyone. They most likely heard footsteps approaching.
The meeting room door opened wide, and Alpha Carlos stepped inside. The room’s tense aura changed to one of fear. The Elders were not scared of him, but his presence altered everyone’s behavior and thoughts.
As he pulled out his chair to sit, a smile curled up on his lips. He cleared his throat of the invisible lump before instructing his Beta to sit down. “You are not a guard; have a seat, Beta.” Even his calm voice sounded like a choking threat to his Beta as he hurriedly pulled out his seat and sat in it.
“Mavana has been found! That bitch escaped to Silverado Pack after being banished!” He dropped the bombshell, news that knocked the Elders, including the Beta, off their feet. They could not believe what they had just heard.
” Are you sure? You said all your efforts of finding her was abortive, How did you….” Alpha Carlos’ bang on the table lodged the word in the Elder’s throat. His quivering lips forcibly opened.
” My spy informed me that Alpha Damian performed his mate ritual, which he did not invite our pack to, but through information circulating, I learned and informed my spy who attended the mate ritual, and the crowned Luna turned out to be that murderer, Mavana!! The silver wolf that we have been looking for, that insane lady whose silver fur keeps multiplying as we try to find her.”
“How on earth did she manipulate the pack members to the point where they accepted her as their Luna even though she was not from their pack?” He ranted, further confusing the Elders, as to why he was so angry.
“I think you should calm down, Alpha. What if she found a way to sneak into the pack and pretended or lied? Someone who nearly killed her step-sister because of a title and mate. Lying or manipulating will not be difficult for such a person.” The Civil Elder of the Crest Pack spoke, and the other Elders nodded in agreement.
Alpha Carlos scoffed at the Civil Elder’s ridiculous assumption; in his mind, the Silverado Pack purposefully adopted Mavana after she fled to their pack to retaliate against him.
“Stop making useless assumptions; I knew they purposefully accepted Mavana into their pack so that they could learn more about us from her. She gave them the most sacred information, which is why they crowned her as their Luna.
Why do you think they suddenly accepted the deal I had been pursuing with them? Only for them to come into our pack and break the deal!” He yelled, his veins almost popping out. He slammed his hand on the table, causing the Elders to flinch, and the room fell silent and heavy with tension.
Alpha Carlos’ eyes blazed with fury, and his face twisted into a snarl, revealing the intensity of his rage.
The Elders appeared to be holding their breath, waiting for Alpha Carlos’ next move.
This went on for about a minute before the tension subsided, and Alpha Carlos smiled at them as he rested back in the chair.
“Do not you think it is time to stop being nice?” He asked, glancing from person to person, and they all nodded at the same time. Witnessing their Alpha’s outburst can only mean one thing: “CHAOS.”
“You are right, Alpha; now is the ideal moment to declare war.” “The program for choosing the Alpha King has started” Another big news, news that caused the tension in the room to decrease completely.
“The heavens approved this time for the war, so this meeting will be adjourned, and everyone is expected to have prepared their own responsibly before the next meeting.” With that final statement, Alpha Carlos rose to his feet and exited the meeting room with a mischievous grin on his lips.
“What the fuck is your problem, brother?” “Why are you obsessed with Mavana?” Daisy yelled and blocked his path.
“You have this low self-esteem that makes you think your life will not be complete unless you strip this girl of her precious skin. You are pathetic.” She spat. A smack across her face sent her staggering backward, holding her cheeks in bewilderment.
“You raised your filthy hand against me? “You slapped Daisy?” She questioned, unwilling to accept the situation that had just occurred.
“And I will do it again if you do not shut your dirty mouth and respect your surroundings. I believe you are still standing here to rant because I have not married you off as agreed upon. I am beginning to consider looking for an Alpha who requires a concubine.”
