Alpha Carlos had not made it far into the pack house when he noticed his Gamma, Gamma Kylie, trotting towards him with contused emotions splashed all over his broad face.
When he arrived at Alpha Carlos, he let out a heavy sigh, indicating the length of whatever issue was at hand.
” I am sorry to tell you this, but the two women of the pack are in your room, scarred and pale from the massive loss of blood.” He said this with trembling hands and a quivering voice.
“I hope the royal doctor attended to them? I have plans to draft” His tone was stoic and simple as he walked away from Gamma and into a corner that led to his library.
“Woah,” Gamma Loan exclaimed as he strode to his apartment.
Alpha Carlos entered his library room and shut the door behind him. He took slow steps over to the massive bookshelf and took out a book. It was a hardcover book with white imprints in a language other than English.
He smirked as he hit the clouds of dust off the book. “I hope this also includes instructions on how to capture that bitch.”
He opened the book’s first page, but it was blank; he ignored it and turned to the second page. The blank page stared back at his eyes, which were filled with curiosity and possibly anger.
His hands gripped the book tightly, his breathing became ragged, and he was getting really angry.
“Why the hell is this book deceiving me?” He sneered, took a deep breath, and quickly flipped the pages, not stopping until he caught a glimpse of some tiny words written in black ink.
His face broke into a satisfied smile as he rubbed his hands over the words “Silver Wolf,” which he read out.
His gaze fixed on the tiny words, and he began to read them, digesting whatever information they contained.
“That bitch is more powerful than I thought, Sly fucker,” he cursed while reading about the various abilities of a silver wolf. He slapped his head for not knowing about Mavana; she fucking slipped from his grasp.
“I need a plan, I need to find a way to get that bitch back to this Pack, no matter how difficult it is,” he told himself as he set the book down on the table. He then approached a table stand and took a book and a pen before sitting down.
His right hand stroked his jaw, lost in thought, and his eyes gradually closed, attempting to focus on the shattered ideas racing through his mind. His nose flared up at the thought of her in another pack: “That cannot be; she is probably lost in the woods.” He shook his head, trying to get the damn thoughts out.
He scribbled something on the paper in front of him, a slow, sly grin forming on his lips. He raised his head to see his Beta looking down at him. Alpha Carlos jumped like a frightened bunny at the unexpected appearance.
“You, son of a gun!” With a snare, he cursed.
“I apologize, Alpha, but I need to talk to you about a very important matter.” He bowed, not paying attention to Alpha Carlos’s curse. This was not the first instance, and it most certainly will not be the last. Shielding his hurt feelings, he sighed at the thought.
“I need you to find one of those people who knew about Mavana’s first transformation,” he ordered, shooing Beta Drake, who was too startled to move.
He has never heard of Mavana’s first transformation, nor is he aware of those who witnessed it.
“Oh, do not bother. Get that visitor in here; I meant the tracker.” Alpha Carlos mumbled while sketching a drawing resembling a plan map.
The young man in a casual shirt and pants entered after Beta Drake and bowed slightly before opening his mouth to speak. Beta Drake walked out gently and motioned for a man to move faster before opening the door and returning to the library.
” I’ve been in search of her since she was banished, For my reasons. I think I have an idea of where she is” The tracker voiced, straight to the point with no delay.
“Are you saying you might know or do you know where she is?” Alpha Carlos inquired to be certain.
“I think I know where she is, but first I need one of her silver furs for confirmation.” The tracker requested, and Alpha Carlos immediately stood up, overcome with excitement.
“Can you find her location today?” He inquired, squinting his brow with curiosity.
“If I get hold of the fur, I certainly will.” The tracker replied tiredly, exhausted by the constant questioning of his abilities.
Alpha Carlos approaches a large shelf and presses his body against it. With a soft creak, the bookshelf swings open, revealing a hidden doorway to a different world full of weapons and unexplained phenomena.
Alpha Carlos approached a large safe, bent down to its level, and entered some codes. With a swinging noise, the safe cracked open, and he pulled out a test tube containing thousands of silver fur.
Beta Drake’s gaze was fixed on the test tube in amazement: “Was this the few strands we picked?” The question slipped out unintentionally.
“It multiplies if kept for a long time, then shrinks and eventually vanishes.” The tracker explained before stretching out to collect the test tube.
A short shortle escaped his lips as he opened the test tube and removed five strands of fur, placing them on the marble floor and retrieving a beeping device from his front pocket.
He picked up the five strands with the device, and a screech filled the room. The device began flickering the red light, and the tracker’s once happy mood turned sour. The device then blasted.
Blasted loudly and widely, nearly breaking down the library’s wall. The tracker, Beta Drake, and Alpha Carlos were all lying on the ground, temporarily deaf.
” What happened?” Alpha Carlos inquired, closing his hands tightly around his ear.
“We need to get another fur, but it will be pointless and take a long time,” the tracker muses.
“All I felt was her presence-her presence in a nearby pack.” He muttered.
